  • Joshua Mauldin

Joshua MauldinJoshua Mauldin is the perfect example of religion gone bad.

Joshua Mauldin brought his wife Eva, his mother, and two-month-old daughter Ana to Galveston, Texas. Joshua claimed to investigators that God told him to come to Texas from his home in Arkansas.

While his wife and mother were out of the hotel picking up dinner, Joshua Mauldin started to show his daughter, Ana, what Hell was.

First, Joshua Mauldin threw his baby onto one of the hotel beds. Then, he hit her in the crotch, picked her up and put her in the hotel room safe.

After pulling her out of the safe, Joshua Mauldin put her in the refrigerator.

Joshua Mauldin 2Finally, after realizing that a refrigerator is an inappropriate place to put a 2-month-old baby girl, Joshua Mauldin placed his little girl into the hotel room microwave and turned it on.

Police estimate she was in the microwave for about 10 to 20 seconds, or about as long as you’d nuke a danish.

Joshua then pulled Ana out and put her on the bed before calling the hotel front desk and asking them to call 911 - because his little girl had a really bad sunburn and was bleeding.

According to the hotel manager, James Marx:

He didn’t seem distraught at all.

The police arrived with the ambulance, and tried to get Joshua Mauldin to explain exactly what had happened.

At first, Joshua Mauldin kept working with the sunburn story. As the cops didn’t seem to want to buy into that, Joshua Mauldin told the police that he had accidentally spilled some boiling water on Ana.

Galveston Police Sergeant Annie Almendarev told the press that Joshua Mauldin had changed his story a few times too many:

The first time, he tripped. Then he said, no, he was drinking it and spilled it. There were just too many inconsistencies. He just couldn’t keep his stories straight.

After the police presented Joshua Mauldin with evidence found from the hotel room microwave, he confessed.

Mr. Mauldin initially claimed he was frustrated with the demands of caring for Eva.

Then Joshua Mauldin said that the stress of everything was just too much for him, and that he put his little girl in the microwave to get rid of the stress.
According to Joshua Mauldin’s wife, Eva Mauldin:

“She wasn’t even crying she was just doing her little whine,” said Eva. “Her ear was grey, her left hand was swollen and cracked open and her face she was burned on it.”

Doctors initially reported that they treated internal injuries and third-degree burns the infant had suffered to the left side of her face and left hand, but later reports neglected to mention any internal injuries.

A mental evaluation done by a forensic psychiatrist has come to the conclusion that Joshua Mauldin wasn’t insane and can help with his defense.

We here at People You’ll See In Hell believe that they used to put folks like this up in tiny rooms with no doors. Just get a good mason and some bricks and mortar, and there you go.

Joshua Mauldin 3Joshua Mauldin faces a prison term of five to 99 years.

Despite Joshua microwaving her baby, Eva Mauldin has claimed that he is a good man and that the devil is responsible for microwaving Ana, not Joshua:

Satan saw my husband as a threat. Satan attacked him because he saw Joshua as a threat. That was not my husband; my husband is a wonderful father. Satan was working through his weaknesses.

We think that we have found Ms. Eva Mauldin’s MySpace page, on which she claims that “Beautiful Angel is in love with Alfredo.” From the looks of her, Beautiful Angel is really in love with Chicken Alfredo.

    That was mean. We apologize.

Here’s Joshua Mauldin’s brother’s MySpace page, we think.

We also believe that Joshua Mauldin’s MySpace page has been found. Here you go.

    From his MySpace:

    Who I’d like to meet:
I’m pretty open minded so having a diversity in friends is not a bad thing, If you want to really know me though, be real and don’t lie….I can’t stand liars, Other than that I’m open to friend invites and usually if you’re true to yourself, I’ll add ya….also, you don’t have to be Christian but hear me out, God loves you and wants you to accept him as you’re personal savior, to be saved from a devils Hell!

    Ironic, don’t you think?

This is your typical idiot woman who will stand behind a piece-of-crap-man. Devil? Well of course something this awful is the work of the devil. But he listened. Dont we all have choices to make? Good and bad, everyday? We dont put our babies in microwaves! Joshua is a monster and his wife is a weak, pathetic excuse of a mother. No child should have to deal with either of them as parents! He had stress? What does he have now? I pray the baby is okay and never sees her biological parents. I pray the parents get every BIT of what they deserve!

the facts in this article are not correct. the baby had no internal injuries and he did not do this due to stress. God does forgive if we come to His throne of grace. there is only 1 sin that is unforgivable. the sin of not accepting His Son as payment for your sins. basically not accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. if you dont believe on Him then you are saying that His work at the cross was for nothing, or in vain, you will not see joshua in hell.

If Joshua confesses it to God and asks forgiveness I believe God will forgive him. That doesn’t mean God will take away the consequences though. Remember because of David’s sin his first son had to die. The second son Samuel was blessed by God though. The only unforgiveable sin is blaspheming the holy spirit. I know what you’re talking about though…

I have a hard time believing in a God that would allow a man to microwave a baby to cal him back to the fold. I like the wrathful Old Testament God myself. I am a Hedonist and I do not think I am going to go to Hell. I also don’t think this dude is going to go to Heaven no matter how hard he pleads.

I think Mr. Baby Murderer displays a chilling lack of remorse and a highly culpable metal state because he lied to the cops and THEN tried to play crazy The-Devil-Made-Me-Do-It Pseudo-Christian when the Boys in Blue didn’t buy his bullshit. I think a Texas jury will likely see it my way. I am so glad they offer the DP down there.

While it would be very satisfying to think of this dude getting the needle I would rather see him tossed into General Population in prison for others to have some fun with.

Maybe that would be the proper way to execute this guy: Adult Sized Microwave.

I do support the DP in this case because I wouldn’t want to waste space and money on this guy with a life sentence.

      Let’s try it this way.
I love my son. He can do an awful lot that hurts me and disappoints me but he will still be allowed in my house. I have taught him all I can about love and tolerance, what is right and what is wrong. He can break rules and laws and I will still love him. He can be still be my son.

However, once he crosses the line by putting babies in the microwave, or shooting up a city council meeting, or raping kids, he is not coming into my house. He can say I’m his dad and he’s sorry but it won’t matter. He’s done. He will not have me to look to for anything. In fact, I would rather he not use my name after that. He could rot because I taught him better that.

Admin- I am so glad you apologized for the ‘chicken alfredo’ comment.

Because chicken alfredo does not nuke well. Pasta and all that. I don’t even eat chicken, yet I know it would be better to gently heat chicken alfredo in a warm pan, to keep the sauce from separating and from making the chicken and pasta rubbery.

I wonder if that works the same for babies. Lord knows I don’t like my babies rubbery, even if some people claim that microwaving them only gives them external burns, and doesn’t harden their tender little insides like Miss Crazy Brittany Woods. Not to be confused with our well-known and non-crazy resident Brittany.

Hmm. Mr. Baby-Nuker. According to his own myspace, he says-

“I have accepted the call to ministry ….I try to be optimistic though”.

Not a real positive endorsement. Sounds like he’s being forced into the ministry. Maybe because he thinks it will lighten his sentence from 20 seconds of nuking to 10? Using God as an excuse works in mysterious ways.

This appears to be bolstered by the fact that he admittedly allows one of his favourite books, ‘The Word of God’ to collect dust.

Why, oh why, am I questioning his sincerity of belief? (Other than that it tends to result in lighter sentences when played right).

There are a lot of people who have had not-so-fun lives, who were abused as children, etc. Myself, Jayni, lots of people here. I’m going to bet most of us do not have this fact plastered all over our ‘myspaces’. Probably because we aren’t trying to get ‘off’ the crime of microwaving our children. Or punching them in the crotch, or putting them in the refrigerator or the safe, or throwing them on the bed because they ‘whined’ a little.

I hate people like this. I hate child abusers, and I hate wussy-assed people who blame their evilness on the ‘devil’ or their past child abuse. They are the ones perpetuating the myth that children who are abused go on to abuse their own children. I call lie.

Brittany Woods is obviously a crack-head. Or she’s hearing ‘religious’ voices in her head that need some serious meds. Oh, wise one, who orders other people to read their bible…. why don’t you take your own advice? Because as far as I know, your bible has some serious calls for judgement, and I don’t recall reading in either testament any verse that lets baby-abusers off scott-free. You, Ma’am, are crazy as a loon, and need to get your meds adjusted. Nuke-baby is more likely to grow up angry at her POS ‘father’ for her hardened entrails than she is to eventually be a witness to anything other than the horrors of evil people who abuse their children. You make me want to spit.

Mr. (now)Godly baby-nuker admittedly spends more time reading cookbooks than the ‘good book’, and he even fucks that up, since EVERYONE knows meat does not cope well in the micro… even tender little baby-meat.

Michael- once again you write with insight. Would I love my child after doing something like this? Yes. Would I welcome them back into my home? No. And, since every version of ‘god’ is based on human projection, there’s no reason to think ‘god’ would react any differently.

Brainless idiots like Brittany Woods makes me angry that morons are capable of putting their fingers to the keyboard.

I have a God, but he is something else to me, he is not the same person you see him as. I will not change my opinion no matter what. If you have something to say about the bible, keep it in your head because I don’t care and hundreds of others sure as hell don’t care.

People that do stuff like this to babies need some serious help, just like you Brittany Woods! If you are going to harm a small child that can’t even defend itself, then there is something popping up saying there is something wrong with the person/parent. Why is all I wonder.

Brittany- I think you need not worry. It seems clear there are plenty of people on this site who could care less what anyone’s sexual orientation is as long as it is not abusive, and is consentual between adults.

I can also understand your well-founded perception that this will threaten non-educated and bigoted people into posting negative things about that subject anywhere they can until they are banned.

I find it interesting that two of some of the most recently accepted scientific research shows that with some variation, most sexual identities are hard-wired at birth based on chromosomal makeup (the whole gamut of all the xx/yy combo possibilities), and that there exists a particular area activated in certain people that predisposes them to the probability of having ‘religious’ thought, and that other people appear to have no activation in this area of the brain. Summing it up, that you can be hardwired to be susceptible to religious beliefs, as well as being hardwired for specific sexual identity.

Religious rantings were never successful at forcing the earth to be flat, and are not likely to be successful at ignoring any other scientific fact now or in the future.

I have never in my life seen my dad drink, or hit ANYONE let alone his wife and children. So I absolutely hate hearing “well I was abused as a child” bull crap. It doesnt work like that.

Back to the story- Joshua needs to be nuked in a huge microwave in hell, and I think his wife needs a mental evaluation if her first instict in NOT to protect her young. I’m curious as to what sin Brittany Wood committed to have given herself mind and soul to Christ? Most of the Super-Christians I know (see all) have some terrible past they hide behind Christian Values so others will not see their past.
Take someone I know, call her Sarah…she left her child with a drug user that flipped her car while going to buy drugs with the baby in the front seat un-buckled. Baby died 3 days later with pressure on the brain; 3 days of pain. But sarah wasn’t driving so she escaped her heavy drug use and neglect by hiding behind Jesus. She then proceeded to buy clothes and shoes while her husband bought band equipment with the childs insurance money. Oh did I mention, the grandparents paid for the headstone and burial. She had another son from a different man she dated for a couple of months, the parents went for custody and she gave him to them…she just couldn’t hack being a parent so her parents are 60 raising a then toddler, now 7 year old. Both Sarah and her husband are Super-Christians now, believing they are forgiven all their past mis-deeds…he even gave me all his devil music CD’s such as Skynard, DMX, Beastie Boys and NIN as well as others (btw NIN, nine inch nails, the nails used to hammer Christ to his cross). So yeah, Ms Wood, what was your inhuman sin?

It’s true God forgives those that seek forgiveness; he is mighty that way, yet you must answer for your crimes by man and then in Heaven your deeds are measured and balanced. I don’t believe there is a Hell in reality…I feel Heaven is a final home while Earth is the proving ground. When we eff up, back we go till we get it right. We all must pay the piper in the end afterall.

And it’s not called “hiding” as you said. Everyone will be judged on every deed on judgement day. I believe everything I have done in my life will be played before God for everyone to see, but I also believe that Jesus will be there interceding for me to forgive me of whatever sins I have committed. I do believe some sins are greater than others. Anyone who says they haven’t sinned has to be lying. I occasionally speed or lose my temper, ect. I am not hiding from it though. I have asked forgiveness.

While even real Christains can screw up real bad, there is a difference between smacking a child/teenager too hard or too much vs sticking a baby in the microwave. Disciplinng can get out of hand, but, while still no excuse for abuse, at least it did not start with bad intentions, thus such a situation *may* be correctable.

Sticking a baby in the microwave is NOT a “correctable” situation because the goal of such action was not discipline to begin with.

So can this guy become Christain? Yes. Is he now? He is about as Christain as the Apple Tree with Pine Cones (call it an Apple Tree - still can not eat the fruit of a pine tree)

Odds are in favor that this POS will depart from this Earth before he’ll ever kneel for anything - and that will piss Bubba off!

If this POS become a Christain, will he be forgiven - by God yes, by man hopefully not. Christ died to fix a relationship with God, not to undo all our bad - we ALL, Christains, Jews, Muslims, etc right to Athiests and Satanists must deal with what we have done - and until we can control time, nothing can be “undone” (there is no Ctrl-Z button in this reality).

So shoud a church forgive an accountant who stole money from the church - yes, should the church reinstated this person - NO! Should the accountant repay what he stole? YES. Again Jesus died for our sins, but WE have to deal with the other consequences of our actions - both intentional and accidental.

“He takes the people you least expect and makes awsome witnesses out of them.”

Shouldn’t that read that he ‘takes the people you’d least expect to ever repent of their crappy personalities, and turns them into awesomely annoying finger-pointers’….?

It’s true that the majority of pusher-xians are people who’ve done some pretty mean, nasty stuff in their lives. But now they’re just A-OK!

Luckily, my a-parents are the least hypocritical xians I know, though they annoy me to no end with their constant forgiveness of assholes.

I have come to the conclusion that for xians, it’s not usually about just believing and being good. There’s no money shot in that. Much more glamourous to be the xian who snagged some evil, cheating, baby-beating loser and scoring his soul. Looking at that psychologically, it’s pretty easy to see some of the very human, psychological reasoning behind proselytism.

Winning all those prizes, and getting to gloat, just like in Amway, doesn’t hurt. Scoring recruits without all the shocking baggage doesn’t seem to score the same kudos.

Other than my a-parents, almost every other xian of massively religious person who now loves lecturing everyone else has what I know personally as some pretty ugly pasts. Quite a few have some ugly ‘present’ as well, though it’s mostly secretive. My lovely, respected xian brother, for example. Drugs, sex, booze, cheating, stealing, every hurtful behaviour yuo can think of. He’s ruined more than a few lives. Oh, forgot to mention he physically assaulted me and continually tried to molest me as a teen. Threatened to kill me until I moved out of my parent’s home.

Everyone is very proud of him now, now that he’s a xian. He was a big score for my parents, and they sure do like him now.
I don’t like him now, and I’m sure he doesn’t like me. Every time I’ve seen him since he got all converted, when our eyes met, it was clear to me that he had really not changed inside, and from his look it was clear that he saw that I saw through him and he didn’t like it.

Very smart observation, about how so many preacherly religious types seem to be trying to make up for their past or for some secret hidden offenses. I think mostly because when they spend so much time focussing on how horrible it is that so many heathens are headed for hell if they don’t listen to them…. it leaves less time to look in the mirror and face what kind of person you really are, sans religion. Probably unbearable for many ranters to handle.

I love 2 sayings…one was on the back of my Truck for years before being ripped off at a concert; “Going to church makes you a Christian like going into a garage makes you a car” my other phrase is “Sixth Day Christian”.
Sixth day Christians get to live their life any way they choose as long as they go to Church on Sunday morning (or Saturday for Seventh Day types) and get forgiven so on Monday morning they can go back to beating their wives. I brought up Sixth Day Christian in a Religion Class I took once, spurred a classlong discussion that did! some took offense while everyone else agreed and they all knew at least 1 person that fit that discription. I said it before, I took many years looking into different Faiths and settled on the Christian Faith. I accept Christ as a man and a fellow child of God as I do all people around me. While not being vocal about it, I try to treat everyone as a sibling, as brothers and sisters until they remove themselves from my family through their own actions. I also feel we are all possible of great deeds and several humans have worked great miracles around us yet we do not see them as saviors, but still call them miracle workers. I say I am Christian because I lead a Christian life. Being a Christian isn’t a Church, it’s a state of being and while Wood wouldn’t view me as such, I feel bad for her because unlike me, her life had to go so horribly wrong before she sought faith in anything. That makes her worthy of self-forgiveness, but not much more until judgement. I have several straight as well as G/L/B friends, I enjoy their company and would take a bullet for any of them. I do not damn them for their way of life ever. A few of them also view themselves as Christian as well Ms Wood.
      There, another 2 cents.

And Ms Wood, yes, Christ did die on the cross for our sins, and if we confess our sins, take responsibility for them, and ask for His forgiveness, and go and sin no more, then we are forgiven.

As far as this article goes, Joshua has not confessed his sins, and is making excuses for them.

If you are determined to use the microwave, you will at least have to pop the baby into a regular oven set to ‘broil’ for at least 8 minutes. Unless you like your babies soggy, with no crispy bits. Which is just plain crazy, since the crispy bits are what makes the gravy taste so good.

Parents of microwaved infant had sex at GPD

      By Scott E. Williams
      The Daily News
      Published March 11, 2008

GALVESTON — A man who admitted burning his infant daughter in a microwave oven for 10 to 20 seconds had sex with the baby’s mother at police headquarters after talking to detectives about the attack on the child.

Jury selection began Monday in the 212th State District Court in the trial of Joshua Mauldin.

Mauldin was charged in a May attack that left the baby with third-degree burns and cost the child her left ear.

Also in court Monday, defense attorney Sam Cammack III tried to argue that jurors should not learn what happened after police left Mauldin alone with his wife, Eva, in an interview room at the Joe Max Taylor Law Enforcement Center, 700 54th St.

After police questioned Joshua Mauldin, days after the child left a seawall hotel room with burns, Eva Mauldin asked for a few minutes alone with her husband, in the interview room.

Officers granted the request, but continued to observe the pair from outside the room, according to police reports.

As investigators looked on, the Mauldins did not discuss the child’s condition or the attack, but engaged in oral sex, police reports state.

Minutes earlier, Mauldin had detailed his account of what happened in the hotel room. He said he had come to Galveston from Warren, Ark., with his wife, mother and daughter and had just reached the hotel shortly before 2 a.m. May 10.

Mauldin told police he became “agitated” upon being left alone with the infant, who was 4 months old at the time. He punched her in the groin and threw her from one bed onto another. He then placed her in the hotel room safe, before taking her out and placing the child in the room’s refrigerator, according to police reports.

He took the child out of the refrigerator, placed her in the microwave oven and turned on the oven, police said. Mauldin told detectives he took the child out after 10 to 20 seconds, according to police reports.

The statement Mauldin gave police led to his indictment on a charge of injury to a child causing serious bodily harm. The charge carries a possible prison term of five to 99 years, as well as a fine of up to $10,000.

Mauldin has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Judge Susan Criss, presiding over the trial, declined to make a formal ruling Monday on whether the couple’s police-station liaison would be admissible during trial. However, she warned Cammack that he would need case law to back up any argument that the encounter should be kept from jurors.

Last week, the judge gave Cammack a similar warning, when he asked to withhold from jurors a portion of Mauldin’s police interview, during which he demonstrated the attack on the infant by punching and throwing a teddy bear.

The child eventually recovered from her injuries, although she had extensive scars. She lives with relatives who have agreed to have no contact with Joshua or Eva Mauldin.

Attorneys in the case will review the jury questionnaires today before reconvening Wednesday to pick the panel of 12 who will decide Mauldin’s fate.

One member of the 100-person group will be $50 lighter when he returns Wednesday, as Criss held him in contempt of court for showing up hours late. The man told court officials he had been helping a friend fix his thermostat.

      UPDATE 3RD DAY OF TRIAL***

      Doctor details baby’s microwave burns

      By Scott E. Williams
      The Daily News
      Published March 17, 2008

GALVESTON — Burns from a microwave oven may cause a baby girl harm later in life, a pediatric surgeon from Shriners Burns Hospital in Galveston told jurors Monday.

In the third day of testimony in the trial of Joshua Mauldin, Dr. Art Sanford testified that he had to perform skin grafts and amputate part of 2-month-old Ana Mauldin’s ear, because of burnt tissue that would never heal.

Mauldin — with his wife, his mother and his infant daughter — drove to Galveston from Warren, Ark., the Mauldins’ former residence, reaching the island shortly after midnight on May 10.

They checked into Quality Inn Suites on Seawall Boulevard. While alone in the room with his infant daughter, Ana, Mauldin put the child in the microwave oven and turned it on.

Mauldin later admitted to police that he had cooked the child about 10 seconds, after telling stories of sunburns and scalding water.

Mauldin has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.

Dr. Sanford also said the radiation from the microwaves could cause baby Ana harm, later in life. He said he was particularly concerned about the likelihood of the girl, now a year old, contracting cataracts and having joint problems on the left-hand ring finger, badly burned in the attack.

Testimony began Monday morning with police officer Scott Peña, who described swabbing the microwave oven for DNA. The DNA would prove to be the baby girl’s.

The charge carries a possible prison term of five to 99 years. Because he has no prior felony convictions, Mauldin is also eligible for probation, if the 212th State District Court jury finds him guilty.

Dad says he felt ‘weird sensation’ before microwaving baby

GALVESTON — Joshua Royce Mauldin felt a “weird sensation” and lost control of his actions before placing his 2-month-old daughter in a microwave oven, according to a video of his statement to police shown during his trial today.

“I felt a weird sensation, a crazy sensation,” Mauldin, 20, of Warren, Ark., said in the video of his interview with Galveston police Detective Holly Johnson.

At the direction of attorneys during her testimony, Johnson read from psychological evaluations done when Mauldin was a teenager in which he reports hearing voices that threaten to kill him if he doesn’t do what they want.

In the video shown to the jury on the fourth day of his trial on a charge of injury to a child, Mauldin said he felt like “a shell and a hot fire inside, right in your stomach. At that point I had no control over my body.

“I could see what was going on, but I couldn’t do anything about it.”

Mauldin described how he tossed his daughter from one bed to another in a motel room on Seawall Boulevard after checking in with his family shortly after midnight on May 10 last year.

He told Johnson that after his wife, Eva, left the room, he punched his daughter in the groin, slapping his fist into his palm to show how much force he used. He then put Anna Murphy into the motel room safe, then the refrigerator before placing her in the microwave for about 10 seconds.

Mauldin said he finally came to his senses and realized what he was doing. “When I got control over my body, I freaked out,” he told Johnson. “I wouldn’t do that.”

He then says that most people would think he is crazy.

“Do you think you’re crazy?” Johnson asks. Mauldin replies, “No.”

Later in the video, Mauldin uses a Teddy bear to re-create the actions leading to Anna being placed in the microwave oven. He said he gently folded her legs to get her in the oven and that she was facing him.

Mauldin later begins sobbing when Johnson hands him photos of Anna’s injuries. He said he first told officials that Anna was sunburned during the drive from Arkansas, then concocted a story about spilling hot water on her while making coffee after being told that the burns could not have been caused by the sun.

He said he kept the truth from his wife for several days.

He also tells Johnson that he brought his wife, daughter, mother and younger brother to Galveston because he was called by the Lord to be a preacher.

“He told me to come here,” Mauldin says. God had also shown him “signs,” he said.

Mauldin also said Galveston had more churches than Warren, giving him a better chance of getting a job as an assistant pastor.

After the video was shown, attorneys asked Johnson to read from Mauldin’s psychological records. One of the records shows that his wife and mother tried to have him involuntarily committed less than a month before he took his family to Galveston.

Assistant District Attorney Xochitl Vandiver said the report indicated his wife and mother wanted Mauldin committed because he had taken up with another woman.

Johnson read from several reports in which Mauldin complains about voices that speak to him all day long and threaten to kill him if he fails to carry out their wishes. One evaluation says that he can control the voices but will eventually lose control.

The reports, done by different doctors and clinics over several years, are sometimes contradictory in their evaluations. Another report says he lied about hearing voices as an excuse to quit a football team.

Mauldin’s attorney, Sam Cammack III, has tried to cast doubt on whether Anna was burned in the microwave. A state Department of Public Safety lab technician testified that Anna’s DNA was found in 10 places in the microwave oven. Her DNA was not found in the safe or refrigerator.

The prosecution completed its case against Mauldin after the DNA testimony. The defense began its case.

Anna received second- and third-degree burns to the left side of her face, left shoulder and left hand and forearm. She underwent several skin grafts and is living with relatives in Brazos County.

Mauldin has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to injury of a child, which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

If found not guilty by reason of insanity, state District Judge Susan Criss could order him confined to a mental institution for life.

What really annoys me is that people presume to know God’s will. Who are they to do so? Who are they to tell other’s what to do in the name of god - just to fill their purses or achieve their selfish objectives? Who are they to talk of forgiveness by Jesus or God, acting against everything Jesus stands for.

To have Jesus in your heart means also to act accordingly - going to church or pray won’t make up for it. That’s just the easy way out - but that was not the path Jesus chose.

And it’s not only a issue in christianity, but for example suicide bombers are according to muslim scholars completely against what the Koran stands for and are therefore dammned to hell. Yet false prophets make false promises and lure people to die for their course, killing innocent civilians.

If there is a god, a heaven and a hell - he alone will decide, who may enter and who not. No false prophet can guarantee you heaven, despite all his promises. Maybe living a life in the way of Jesus can, but even if not you will live on in the hearts of the people that know you as a good person.

How anybody here believes, that just a few prayers and going to church does carry the same weight as burning a helpless child, disfiguring it for the rest of it’s life, is beyond my understanding. How anybody, who acts against all his religion stands for, can believe in forgiveness by God and Jesus is beyond my understanding. But luckily it’s completely irrelevant, what you, I or other’s think - because God will have the last word and judge “his” way and not the way someone is telling him to do.

If you really have Jesus in your heart - just live the way he did.

The good news is God gave us free will to do what ever we want. He gave us heaven on earth. The point of beleiving in God is not to condem others, it is to live our lifes to glorify him. We all know right from wrong. I try to do the right thing, and often times I fail. But good or bad, I give God the glory because I beleive he created us and gave us all a wonderful world to live in.

That’s the question. If you live your life to glorify God, shouldn’t you live by his rules? If you have Jesus in your heart, shouldn’t you try to live his way? Nowadays religion is mostly about money and power and manipulating people - a real shame. God gave you free will and intelligence to glorify him his way. If a prophet lives a life of luxury and preaches renouncement - you have to open your eyes. If he preaches violence even if it is against the holy scriptures - you have to open your eyes. If someone goes to church, but acts unchristian as soon as he leaves it - you have to open your eyes.

Actually God does not even need to punish for our misbehavior - we are on the best way to do it ourselves. Global warming, H5N1, big brother is watching you, religious tensions - just a few issues, that are awaiting us.
