She strangled the infant.
After the child died, Ms. Leon placed the body in a plastic tupperware-style container.
This container and its contents were found by police during a house-wide search was conducted.
Ms. Leon’s visit to a local hospital apparently alerted the staff, who immediately recognized her recent childbirth and that the possibility existed that not all was as it should be.

Look Kayla, the only things that matter here are these. Rocio Leon got pregnant. She hid that pregnancy from her family and friends. Rocio Leon gave birth to a daughter on April 22nd, 2007. Because she already had a 20 month old baby by a deadbeat father, her mother had threatened to throw her out of the house if she had another baby while she was single. Caught between the baby and having to possible live on her own with 2 children, she made a choice: She beat and strangled her helpless newborn daughter daughter until she was dead, placed the tiny body in an Tupperware container, put the cover on and threw the container into a dumpster with the rest of the garbage.
That all sounds like well thought out plan by a pretty intelligent person. She then compounded her guilt by going to the hospital complaining of stomach cramps – The doctors immediately noticed she had just given birth, but when they asked her about it she denied it. It was only after her blood tests came back that they were able to confirm their suspicions and contact police.
So she was also aware enough that she had committed murder to lie about just having a child. You see Kayla, what you call the “unknown facts” surrounding the case, the police call motive.
Oh yes, I almost forgot. There’s that small matter of the confession she made to the doctors at the hospital. That’s all we really need to know about Rocio, isn’t it – That she’s a confessed baby killer? What else can you possible tell us that can make that go away?

I’ll be the first person to admit this woman is sick. It takes a sick SICK person to do something like this. But I tend to think that I’m proof that mental illness doesn’t automatically mean a good excuse. I’ve had skizophrinia for two decades. I’ve also raised 4 of my own and two step children too. I and many millions like me can battle mental illness and still manage to know right from wrong and raise our families.
You said she’s a beautiful person. I would like for you to read up on Ted Bundy and Charles Manson. These are both good looking men (in their time) who oozed charm. For those caught in their traps they were everything that you think this woman is. But they both turned out to be some kind of monster in their own ways. You can NOT tell me that a psychotic person can’t lie and manpulate another person into thinking they are something other then a monster in human form. This site if full of people what that very same talent this person used.
You said we don’t know there for we can’t judge her. In a way you’re right. We are not her judge and jury. But a human is judged by their actions alone. I don’t care if it was hormones, stress, fear… Billions up on billions of women have all given birth under millions of different circumstances. None of them beat and strangled a defenceless newborn baby. Then hid the evidance. AND (the part that gets me.) she goes to the hopital, knowing that she had just given birth. Any idiot would know you squeeze something the size of a watermelon through a hole the size of a grape there will be damage. REAL damage.
Her actions show that she is not only sick, but selfish as well. She’ll take herself to a hospital, but not her daughter. My best advice for you is to watch your back. If she can do this to her daughter, who has done NOTHING, what can she do to you when you upset her?

Sad…. I wish there was a picture of her because I THINK i know who she is and we went to highschool together. People in Bayonne get pregnant in highschool/young so that isn’t shocking, but to be so thoughtless and harmful, to carry a baby for 9 months then murder it. I don’t get it.
