This is 36-year-old Paul Durousseau, a former taxicab driver who likes to rape, strangle and kill.
Mr. Durousseau admitted that he repeatedly lied to police about not knowing or having sex with Ms. Mack. That story changed as investigations linked his DNA to the crime scenes and after eyewitnesses saw him carrying Mack’s television out of her apartment.
His defense claimed that she liked rough sex and things got a little out of hand.
Here is a brief list of the other people that Paul Durousseau got a little out of hand with:
- 26-year-old Tracy Habersham was strangled after leaving a party in Columbus, Ga., in September of 1997.
- 18-year-old Nichole Williams was found dead on the 19th of December, 2002, in a ditch on Soutel Drive.
- 20-year-old Nikia Kilpatrick was found strangled in her Arlington apartment on the 1st of January, 2003.
- 20-year-old Shawanda McCalister was found strangled in her Arlington apartment on the 10th of January, 2003.
- 17-year-old Jovanna Jefferson, and 19-year-old Surita Cohen were found dead near each other in at a construction site in northwest Jacksonville on Feb. 5, 2003. They were cousins.
All of his victims were black women, between 18 and 26 years old, who were attacked in their own homes, tied up, raped, then strangled with electric cord.
Update:
During his trial, Paul Durousseau testified that after he was first arrested in June of 2003, he told police the first of several lies about knowing the slain women, in part because he felt a bit intimidated by the authorities.
They already made up their minds, that I was the one, that I was guilty. Nothing I could say would have changed anything. So I lied.
Paul Durousseau admitted that he had had sex with at least 20 women, despite his being married since 1995. His problem, he felt, was that he was just unlucky. After all, 8 of the women that he’d had sex with died. 2 out of 5. That’s a bad average.
He didn’t have a problem describing how he met each woman that he slept with who later turned up dead, pointing out how other men came to Kilpatrick’s and McCalister’s apartments on the nights of the slayings and how those other men could have killed the women.
In Mack’s case, Paul Durousseau said he visited her on the day of her murder, that they had consensual sex and that he gave her $40. According to Paul, with her permission, he took a broken television from her back to his home. Of course when authorities found the television, it was working.
On the 13th of December, 2007, Paul Durousseau was found guilty of the rape and slaying of 24-year-old Tyresa Mack in 1999. He was sentenced to die by lethal injection.

You have to have a lot of balls to attack a black woman. They’re really mean.

Hopefully, before he gets the needle he gets to find out what it feels like to be raped. A LOT!

“He was sentenced to die by lethal injection.”
Can they do it soon enough?
Yes, capital punishment saves lives.
Smash his high cheek bones in with a hammer. Then turn the hammer around to that hook-side and have a field day caving in the top of his head. Kill him already.
