    Alec Devon Kreider

Alec Devon KreiderFor some reason as yet untold, 16-year-old Alec Devon Kreider, a sophomore in high school, decided to enter the residence of his friend, Kevin Haines, and kill everyone that he could find.

Alec Kreider entered the Haines residence shortly after 1 in the morning on the 12th of May, 2007.

Moving quietly through the house, 50-year-old Thomas Alan Haines, 47-year-old Lisa Ann Haines, and their 16-year-old son Kevin Haines were all stabbed by Alec Kreider as he swept through like an angel of death.

    Then he left.

Margaret Haines, the only Haines to survive the night of death, woke up at about 2 in the morning when she heard a noise that sounded like her brother screaming.

Smelling blood as she entered the hall, she entered her parent’s bedroom, where she saw her father and mother lying on their bed, both covered in blood.

Lisa Ann Haines was barely conscious when she looked up, saw her daughter standing in the doorway and told her to go get help.

Haines FamilyHelp arrived, but not soon enough.

When police arrived a mere five minutes after a breathless and terrified Margaret called them from a neighbor’s house, they found both of her parents dead in their bed. Thomas Haines had been stabbed in the chest and had died within moments. Lisa Ann Haines had been stabbed in the stomach, and suffered before she died.

Kevin Haines was dead, lying in the hallway with stab wounds to his neck and body.

For a while, police were puzzled, because there were no signs of forced entry, and nothing was missing from the house.

Alec Kreider’s father, Timothy, solved the mystery a month and two days after the killings.

While committed to a mental hospital for threatening to shoot himself, on the 12th of June, Alec Kreider told his father that he’d killed the Haines family back in May.

Two days later, on the 14th, his father went to the police.

He gave the police the knife that Alec had used and told them where to find the shoes his son had worn that night.

When checked with the bloody footprints in the Haines house, the tread pattern on Alec’s shoes matched, of course.

After his arrest, when interviewed by authorities, Alec confessed to killing the Haines family, mentioning that he had originally gone to their house to smother Kevin to death, but had decided to stab him instead.

Ben Opp, a sophomore in Alec Kreider’s German class said that the two 16-year-olds were great friends.

Kevin talked about Alec all the time.

Kreider was a smart kid, kind of like Kevin, but less approachable. Once you got to know him, he was really funny. But he could be kind of dark sometimes.

The rumor around school was that Alec and Kevin were gay. That could explain why Alec was feeling a bit stabby.

Alec Kreider was charged as an adult with three counts of murder and one count of burglary.

He’s just a kid. Not that what he did was in any way ok, but what you are doing is just as wrong. You have no right to place this kind of judgment or to gossip about others. A sin is a sin, whether you steal a penny or murder someone, it is all the same in God’s eyes. There is only one judge in this world, that is the Almighty God. With a site like this, making judgments on people’s eternal destiny, you could be there in hell to greet some of these people you feel are headed there.

      Your site is sick

Then don’t sit here and read it. You really think a bunch of folks on a crime blog determine people’s fate in the afterlife? Teehee you’re a sillygoose.

      • Maelstrom says:

        Valerie,
Practice what you preach, oh confused one.

Don’t barge in here with your silly little admonishments concerning what we may or may not think about the morons presented on this blog, and then assume that we are going to hell.

Also, for future reference, don’t engage in the same antics that you accuse us of engaging in oblivious to the fact that YOU did it first.

at least he was charged as an adult, finally a little justice from our so-called “justice system”

i say know the facts, check and review public records about this case. what alec was admitting to like how he did it and with what did not corroborate with the rest of the evidence and the tests and findings. there’s so much more to this case. there’s so much more that alec is not telling. im not totally convinced he’d done this

This reminds me of a case in KAPUNDA South australia just recently Where JASON ALEXANDER DOWNIE Allegedly, Stabbed and Murdered the Rowe family, in Harriet St. Same thing, no motive apart from an infatuation with the daughter. Allegedly. RIP Andrew, Rose, and Chantelle Rowe.

Being gay makes someone “stabby”? I must miss the apparently obvious connection here. Hmm.

    9. Tiffany says:

I think he was trying to say that because of their relationship he might have committed the crime out of passion. I hate when people try to turn nothing into something.
