Thomas Toolan III
Thomas Toolan III, convicted of the stabbing murder of his ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth Lochtefeld, has a drinking problem.
Life in prison would mean this drinking problem of Toolan’s would be solved.
Try to look on the positive side, Mr. Thomas Toolan III.
No more convenient blackouts when you do something wrong.
No more getting fired from jobs like a Vice-President of Citibank.
After meeting on Labor Day back in 2004, Toolan and Lochtefeld had the kind of nice six-week romance that only the rich can really have. Everything was great until Toolan wanted to make Elizabeth Lochtefeld into Elizabeth Toolan.
She declined and broke up with him.
Evidently this didn’t sit so well with Thomas Toolan III, because after she declined the honor of being his wife, he kept her by force in his Manhattan Upper West Side apartment. He wouldn’t let her leave, because everyone knows, girls love being held hostage and it was just a matter of time before she capitulated.
She escaped later that night after he fell asleep.
Thomas Toolan, three days after breaking up with
, tried to board a flight to her home in Nantucket while carrying a 10-inch knife.
Airline security declined to let him on the plane, asking inconvenient questions such as, “Why do you have a 10-inch knife?”
Thomas Toolan gave three different explanations, each failing to impress security personnel.
He finally just said, “Fuck it” and left.
If Mr. Toolan had left it at that, he would have been ok. And let me tell you, being a Vice-President of Citibank is pretty darned “ok.”
Unfortunately for Ms. Elizabeth Lochtefeld, Thomas Toolan III just came back to the airport the next day (this time without a 10-inch knife) and again bought a ticket to Nantucket.
Then, in a fit of criminal mastermindedness, he bought a new knife once he arrived.
Clever, clever man.
After the murder, Mr. Toolan left the island of Nantucket and was arrested in Rhode Island for drunk driving a few hours after Lochtefeld’s body was found, stabbed 23 times.
Want to do a background check? Has he been arrested? What’s his credit like? Is he really a millionaire with houses all over the world? Is he being sued? Find out all this and more here.

the bad kind
Drinking problem? Haha, sounds like he has more then just drinking problem. lol
–UPDATE–
Yesterday (June 21st 2007), the 39-year-old was found guilty of the murder under two theories — premeditated murder and extreme atrocity or cruelty — and will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole, a mandatory sentence in Massachusetts. Appeals for first-degree murder convictions are automatic. Toolan was also convicted of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and was sentenced to nine to 10 years to serve concurrent with his murder sentence.
Elizabeth’s sister had some very wise words to share:
“Anger, hatred and vengeance are corrosive emotions that destroy those who indulge in them,” Catherine Lochtefeld said. “We do not rejoice that Mr. Toolan’s parents, for all purposes, lost their son.”

How come some people always answer no? There are perfectly horrible cases on which some should be 100%..But it’s always 99%-yes 1% no!
Well..now it’s 88% but you get my point. It’s frustrating!
There are still so many posts on here that i havent seen…
Men ( and women) like Thomas are all about power. They want to be the ones calling the shots and they will do anything to get what they want. The more you say NO to them, the more irrational they get and the bahaviour just keeps on escelating. They think that at some point you will give in to them and give them what they want. If they cant have what they want, then they will make you suffer.
My ex was like this, and yeah, i almost died. I was lucky. Its easy to fake being dead when someone holds a pillow over your head and tries to suffocate you…not so easy to do when you have been stabbed 23 times.
I am living this situation right now..
Therapists are too quick to advise: GET AWAY.
But that may just be the trigger for murder…
