A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy for five years and a retired Manhattan Beach police officer, Shawn Michael Shelton had the trust of the community for over a decade.
Well, I think that trust is gone now.
After medically retiring in 2003 due to a conflict with his fellow officers over his homosexual tendencies and HIV-positive status, Shelton left for Las Vegas.
In May of 2006, while driving his black Hummer H2, Shawn Shelton came across a teenage skateboarder sitting at a bus stop near a Las Vegas Mall.
Shelton got out of his car, flashed a badge and ordered the 14-year-old boy into his vehicle, where he handcuffed and searched the kid, claiming he resembled a murder suspect.
Then Shawn Shelton got back into his SUV and drove out into the desert, where he forced the boy to perform oral sex on him at gunpoint.
Since Shelton conveniently had a camera with him, he took pictures of the act.
After Shelton let him go, the boy ran home and told his mother that he’d been assaulted.
After a sketch of Shawn Shelton had been broadcast on TV and printed in the newspaper, a friend of Shelton’s called police.
The real police later matched DNA on the boy’s shirt with Shawn Michael Shelton’s DNA.
Shawn Shelton was sentenced to a prison term of 35 years to life.
The boy will never be free of the memory.
Police are still investigating Shelton as a suspect in the homicide of Justin James, a 19-year-old who was found dead from an overdose of cocaine, Xanax and morphine in Shelton’s apartment in October of 2005.

nah…he really doesn’t deserve hell as much as he deserves what he’ll get in jail. maybe they’ll call him shawna instead.
