    Mark Goudeau

Mark GoudeauMark Goudeau has a good wife.

Wendy Carr stood with the accused serial killer while he was in prison for the first thirteen years of their marriage.

She was able to ignore the fact that Mark Goudeau pled no-contest for a 1989 incident where he hit a woman over the head with a shotgun while trying to force her to snort cocaine, sexually assaulting her while she was unconscious and later hitting her over the head with a barbell and trying to drown her in a bathtub.

Kidnapping, rape, sexual assault, attempted murder.

So, she’s a good woman, stuck with a bad man.

I’m sure Oprah is dying to get Wendy Carr onto her couch.

Goudreau was paroled in 2004, eight years early, even after telling his parole officer that he would sneak away from his family at least twice a week to snort coke.

Why is Mark Goudeau on trial now?

Kidnapping, rape, sexual assault, attempted murder, murder.

Mark Goudeau is accused of being the “Baseline Killer”, a serial rapist and murderer who worked the Phoenix area between 2004 and 2006. If this is true, then Mr. Goudeau has committed at least nine murders and many, many robberies and sexual assaults, all within three miles of the house Wendy Carr and Mark Goudeau shared.

One was right around the corner.

Some things the Baseline killer has on his resume:

Abducted three teenagers near Baseline Road, forcing them behind a church and molesting the two girls.

On the third of November in 2005 at just after eight at night, a man with the ever-trendy dreadlocks and a fisherman’s hat strolled into a local store with a gun and took 720 dollars. Apparently excited by his haul, ten minutes later the same gunman abducted a woman from the grocery store across the street and sexually assaulted her in her car.

Two employees of a fast-food restaurant were found dead hours after they had left work in the same vehicle on March first of 2006 – one, 20-year-old Liliana Sanchez-Cabrerain was found in the parking lot of another fast-food restaurant, and the other, Chao Chou, was found about a mile away. They were both shot in the head.

Eight days later, a local businessman was investigating a horrible smell, saw blood tracks on the ground and came across the body of Kristin Nicole Gibbons, who had also been shot in the head.

On the twenty-ninth of June in 2006, 37-year-old Carmen Miranda was grabbed while she was chatting on her cellphone at a carwash and was later found dead from a gunshot to the head behind a barbershop about 100 yards away.

Mark Goudeau will be charged with many crimes. It is very likely that he will serve a long time in prison. Will his wife stand by her man this time?

Do you disagree with his wife? Did Mark Goudeau do it? Does he deserve Hell?

It’s all so clear to me now. Thanks trini j

well, i’ll just believe it because you, trina jackson, said so.

        • Miwist says:

It’s okay, it’s trina jackson. Since her insightful post, things have gotten much better for the black man. Here in Omaha, not only do we now let negroes sit on the front of the bus, we even let them drive them. We gave that nice colored man, Barack Obama, a token electoral vote.
Too bad Mark Goueau had to go to prison because of the color of his skin. His name sounds white – that should be taken into consideration.
Trina has made things better – and someday, because of her, I think we’ll live in a world where blacks are treated almost as well as whites.

      • NavyCop says:

You do understand that rape victims suffer something akin (that means “like” for those of us who are uneducated) to shell-shock? The mind pretty much tries to black-out (no pun intended) the whole ordeal afterwards. During the attack, the pupils dilate, the heart-rate increases, and the body is in the flight or fight mode (“get the hell out!” or “take some of this, jackass!” mode for the uneducated.) It is difficult for most rape victims to identify their attacker visually. It is a very traumatic experience, so don’t crucify those girls when they couldn’t pick him out of a crowd…Maybe he told them he would kill them if they pointed him out. That happens sometimes. Other than that, go back to school, learn to spell, then come back out and play. Oh yeah, and learn to speak proper English if you are going to verbally (that means “with words”) attack people online. Have a nice day

      • ShannyArdelle says:

        -DNA-
DNA evidence was a mixture of three donors in which any number of thousands of men in the geographic area could not be exluded.

DNA profile extracted from evidence did NOT in fact generate a “hit” in the database, though the Mark Goudeau’s profile existed in the database.

Mark Goudeau ‘s name was given in writing to the DNA analyst who then fished his profile from the system and attempted to make a match without database assistance.

Mark Goudeau’s DNA was a partial match of 3 out of 13 loci, and the State’s DNA “expert” stated in testimony that the DNA could not have come from anyone other than the Mark Goudeau, though the same “expert” stated in another man’s trial that based on the DNA match of 9 out of 13 loci, she could neither include nor exclude him as a donor.

This analyst lied on the stand about how she came upon Mark Goudeau’s identity (proven in later court records after this trial), grossly exaggerated her numbers of probability (to the point that an unbiased expert stated her calculations were “misleading to the point of malpractice”) and used calculations and methods that are not accepted by the scientific community in regard to DNA.

The same State’s DNA expert used similar tactics in another case and even the prosecutor saw the negligence and removed her from court proceedings, nearly resulting in a mistrial when the defense appealed to the judge.

The DNA evidence was completely used up by the state and the defense never had an opportunity to test it independantly. DNA was the only evidence in this case, and the state’s charges should have been dropped. The state then came back with witness identification from the two victims, who had previously not been able to identify their attacker, allowing the case to proceed in court.

After trial, the jury foreman told a reporter that without the DNA testimony, they would have had to return with a verdict of not guilty.

        -Victims’ ID Attacker-
The two victims of sexual assault in the trial never identified the Mark Goudeau outside of court.

The victims were shown a lineup in which the Mark Goudeau was included and failed to pick him out.

The victims identified 4 other men in 4 lineups prior to the trial.

The victims saw the Mark Goudeau ‘s image on TV several times after his arrest for other crimes and never made mention of him being their attacker to anyone, including therapists, boyfriend, family, or each other.

In court, one vicitm was asked if she recognised her attacker as being present in the court room. She said “I think so” and was asked to point him out. She identified the Mark Goudeau ‘s own attorney as her attacker. This blunder was outweighed by the DNA evidence presented by the state when the jury deliberated.

The victims were offered $1,100 per month for a period of a year or more for their testimony, disguised as money to relocate for safety purposes, in which one victim (the one who pointed out the attorney) accepted.

        -A More Likely Suspect-
Of the crimes attributed toThe Baseline Killer that are scheduled to go to trial in 2010, a different man, Terry Wayne Smith, has been found to be in the area of many of these crimes at the time they were committed. Terry Wayne Smith’s ties to the areas have been reported by witnesses, police, and addresses of residence.

11 hours after one horrific crime attributed to the The Baseline Killer, Terry Wayne Smith was reported to police by people at a bus stop in a nearby area because he was acting aggressively and talking about how many people he has killed. A police officer responded and documented this encounter.

In the area where 4 other victims were found dead, Terry Wayne Smith was interrogeted by police on 3 occasions for following women around in stores and parking lots.

Terry Wayne Smith served time for an armed robbery that parallels one of the crimes that Mark Goudeau is accused of. Both crimes were armed robberies of people who were alone at a do-it-yourself type carwash. The crimes were not just similar, but almost identical. The only difference is the crime attributed to The Baseline Killer resulted in murder.

Twice within 48 hours of Terry Wayne Smith being released from jail, a murder was committed just blocks from where this man was living. These murders were attributed to The Baseline Killer.

Two days after the arrest of Mark Goudeau,Terry Wayne Smith held his own family hostage and was arrested.

Terry Wayne Smith ‘s mother hinted to a police officer that she felt her son was the perpetrator of the rapes and murders Mark Goudeau was arrested for and said that on at least two occasions her son had come home with blood on his clothes. She also told police he was sexually deviant (stated he has masterbated in front of the family a few times) and is violent.

A map that marks the location of crimes attributed to The Baseline Killer, and the places where Terry Wayne Smith was proven to be living or questioned by police for seemingly unrelated issues, shows Terry Wayne Smith to be near the scenes of 14 of the crimes in close succession to the times they were commited.

Terry Wayne Smith has been a murder suspect in other cases both here in AZ and in California and has served time for violent crimes and armed robberies.

A report about Terry Wayne Smith and the suspicions that he was a viable suspect was being put together by an officer at the time the Mark Goudeau was arrested. The report was disregarded by the task force that was handling the crimes because they felt they already had the right guy. The officer was told by a superior to file his report in a Microsoft Word format rather than the standard Police Automated Computer Entry System, which was a departure from police protocol. This means his report is not in the official police reports regarding the cases that were attributed to The Baseline Killer. As a Word document, the report wasn’t available by a public records request and the defense was not afforded the opportunity to know about Terry Wayne Smith at the time of trial.

Smith is currently incarcerated for unrelated crimes. He is scheduled for release back into our community as soon as 2011.

Trina, you are sadly mistaken about the DNA and it shows your just spouting shit you read or were told. Its true he only matched 3 markers out of 13 , but that doesnt means he didnt match.

If it was no markers , you would be correct, but with 3 you are wrong,
It only means its 360 trillion times more likely that the DNA is Goudeau’s “than if it was an unrelated African American man along with the 2 sisters.”
It means Mark is still included in the DNA line up not excluded.
The other thing you forgot to mention was all the BK crimes stoped after Mark was arested, not to mention his past crimes came up and bit him in the ass , because they perfectly matched the BK crimes.

“Goudeau is an ex-convict who served 13 years for aggravated assault, a charge he pleaded down from the original one of rape and kidnapping. The victim, who suffered a fractured skull, would later tell police that the attack began in Goudeau’s apartment, where he hit her in the head with a barbell, tried to force cocaine up her nose, raped her and tried to drown her in the bathtub.”

    12. W.J. says:

Yeah, a “good wife”. Just like the mom and dad who stand by their son who murdered innocent people, stupidly believing their innocence for no reason other than the fact that it is their son. People like that are complete scumbags, period.

I will literally spit in the face of the “good wife” and “good parents”.

    13. Donna Marguglio says:

Mark and his brother Mike raped me many many years ago. It absolutely makes me sick to know there are people supporting his innocence. He is anything but innocent. It is a safer world with Mark and other violent family members behind bars. As for his wife, I guess somebody has to love him. Apparently no one did when he was a child. His life could have been so different. Choices Mark, choices. You made them, you live with them, behind bars.

      • Maelstrom says:

        Donna,

Good God, my apologies for what you had to endure. Words fail me, though you’re in my thoughts.

      • Max The Cat says:

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this website Donna, it’s that there’s a lunatic fringe out there who will support anyone, no matter how horrible their actions, as long as the scumbag somehow made them feel like they were friends, or lovers, or because they called them father, or son, or mother. Sometimes it’s just because someone like, say Trina from the above comments, thought a guy like Mark Goudeau was kind of cute. For even a reason as nonsensical as that, she’ll forgive anything he does – anything he does to someone else that is. The others I mentioned are no better. They sell their intelligence, self respect and common sense pretty cheaply, and offer up excuses for these creeps that defy logic. I’ve never been able to understand it, and I don’t think I ever will.

    14. Raineygurl says:

Did anyone stop to think that the police had so much pressure to find someone, anyone, that they profiled him and then convicted him on false evidence that they lied about and got others to swear to it?

Maybe you people cannot understand his wife simply because she is telling the truth, he changed, and paid for his crimes and wanted to be free and have a life.

I see too many policemen twisting truths and too many people going to prison because of their color and it was convenient to blame them. You hear about them letting them out all the time due to DNA evidence proving them innocent. When they twist the DNA evidence – to suit their needs – that is even sicker.

I come from Minnesota and Arizona is about as backward a State as I have lived in and I have lived in quite a few due to the military. I am white, middle aged, female, and adoptive mom, and a foster mom. So I am not some militant crazy. But boy – this State really takes the cake in more ways than one and corruption is a real problem here.

      • Jason says:

Profiling based merely on race, religion or language is fairly unconscionable in most cases.

Profiling on the basis of convicted, Rape, attempted murder, and drug abuse is good police work.

Did anyone stop to think that the police had so much pressure to find someone, anyone, that they profiled him and then convicted him on false evidence that they lied about and got others to swear to it?

Yes on the pressure, yes on the profile, no on the evidence fabrication and no on the lying.

        Next question.

Phoenix Police Brass Let Serial Killer Rampage to Protect Turf

Phoenix, AZ) A $22,000,000 Notices of Claim was filed today alleging intentional, reckless and grossly negligent conduct by members of the Phoenix Police Department and the Phoenix Crime laboratory that directly lead to 37 year old Romelia Vargas’ murder on February 20, 2006 at the hands of the media labeled “Baseline Serial Killer,” Mark Goudeau. The Notices of Claim was filed by Attorney Marc Victor on behalf of Alvin Vargas, the husband of Romelia Vargas and five of her six children. No word on whether other injured families are contacting Mr. Victor’s Law Office to join in the law suit.

    16. Phaux Redtail says:

according to a recent(June) article in the Times Publications, it’s possible that the police covered up the fact that it was not Mark Goudeau because they did not want to look bad for arresting and convicting the wrong guy, that they clearly ignored evidence and lied about their findings
