A charming guy, Desmond Campbell is.
Married three times, the former army paratrooper always had the right things to say to a woman.
Desmond Campbell at one point in 2002 assured Jennifer Dunlop, a cosmetic surgeon, that he had no one else “to cuddle up to in bed at night” and she was “the only woman in his life.”
He was, in fact, still sending Jennifer Dunlop postcards proclaiming his love just weeks before his third wife, Janet Campbell, fell to her death from a cliff while camping with Desmond in March of 2005.
Why would the wealthy ex-widow Janet Campbell fall off a cliff when her husband was such an experienced hiker and camper?
Could it possibly be because he pitched their tent facing a cliff, maybe gave her a little nudge to help her find her way outside at night to pee?
Despite his deep love for his now ex-wife, Desmond Campbell was able to work through his grief, as evidenced by his quick call on the first business day after his wife’s death to a real estate agent, instructing the agent to sell her $600,000 house quickly so he could “get away.”
A traumatic experience like finding your wife’s body at the base of a cliff would definitely drive someone to book a luxury vacation with your girlfriend at a five-star resort.
Yeah, his girlfriend. They’d been having sex from December of 2003 until May of 2005, a few months after Janet Campbell’s death.
Desmond Campbell does get around.
