Harrel Franklin Braddy
It’s always good to be given a second chance.
Harrel Franklin Braddy was convicted of trying to kill someone back in the 80′s.
Due to good behavior, Braddy served 13 years of his 30-year sentence.
When he got out, he was good for a while. He did everything he was supposed to do.
He got a job.
He went to church functions.
At one of them he met 22-year-old Shandelle Maycock and her 5-year-old daughter Quatisha Maycock. They hit it off.
Shandelle invited Harrel Braddy to her house after the social, not knowing his history, just seeing him as a friendly, churchgoing guy.
Sometime during that night, Harrel Braddy made a pass at Shandelle. She refused his advances and asked him to leave.
How do you think a 6’2, 220-pound ex-felon with anger management problems would take that?
As you would imagine, he got angry and couldn’t manage it.
First Harrel Franklin Braddy choked Shandelle. Then he hit her. Then he choked her some more until she finally passed out.
Putting Shandelle Maycock and her daughter Quatisha into his car, Harrel Braddy drove out to the Florida Everglades.
You know, the Everglades with the alligators in it.
During their drive, in a daring attempt to escape, Shandelle woke up, grabbed her daughter Quatisha and jumped out of Harrel’s car while it was moving.
He, of course, stopped the car, choked Shandelle unconscious again and, after putting Quatisha back into the car, threw Shandelle into his trunk.
At some point, Harrel Braddy dumped Shandelle’s limp body into a sugar-cane field.
He kept driving with her daughter.
For a while.
The crying 5-year-old eventually got to be too much for Harrel Braddy, so he stopped the car by a canal and dropped Quatisha into it.
Alligators are usually attracted to little, splashing, helpless, 5-year-old girls, and Quatisha Maycock was no exception.
When Harrel Braddy led searchers to the area he had dumped her, they found her body.
Medical examiners said that the little girl was alive when an alligator (or alligators) had torn her left arm off and ripped her stomach open. She died when the alligators crushed her skull.
Harrel Braddy was convicted of a variety of crimes including first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary and escape.
He now faces the death penalty.

Shandelle was my childhood bestfriend, growing up in South Florida and we attended school together until we went to seperate high schools. We remained friends of course. I had recently spoken to her and her daughter at Chuck-E-Cheese, the June prior to Quatisha’s death. I was in awe when I learned of what had taken place. I am looking for my childhood friend and I am trying to get in contact with her, since I reside in Georgia now. I have lost contact with her family and her, but I plan to find her and I look forward to sitting right next to her and watching Braddy die on that gourney. I hope that God forgives me for my hateful thoughts, but I want to watch him die for how he beat my friend to a pulp and left her for dead and then beat an innocent baby and then literally fed her to the alligators and snakes. I want to watch him die for the way he has tragically interrupted my childhood best friend’s life. I don’t like the death penalty at all, but that man did that crime and thought he had gotten away, just as he has attempted to murder several others in the past.
It’s good to watch him die. I’m sure God will be beside you asking if you want to share popcorn.
You know, some of the biggest sinners can be found in Church. Be warned.

For the “pin head action” to have any affect, he would have to have a brain…or at least feelings. Harrel has neither.
I cannot even get thru reading these articles without filling up with tears & crying for Shandelle & Quatisha,, I cannot imagine the horror that poor child went thru,,and her poor mother, to wake up from conscienous from being beaten by that animal to be told what happened,,,This disgusting excuse of a human being should be tied up in the everglades, and left for all the wildlife to have their fill.

Obviously, people who have never had to mourn the horrific death of a loved one. Just let it be one of theirs……and by an element of society that they think they are above….and then watch the “kill him” flags go up. Being Canadian, we generally have an aversion to capital punishment. Having said that… we also believe that shitbags like this deserve to die for what they have done. I, personally, am glad that this crime did not happen in Canada, as he would only get 25 years to life. Not good enough. This fucker needs to die. I am a father of three, I am glad that the state of Florida will do what needs to be done.

Being someone who has Herpetophobia I can only imagine that poor little girls thoughts and feelings as those animals slowly swam towards her and ripped her up in the dark of the night. JESUS. Mythbuster’s Shark Week Special last night had the team under shark infested waters in the dark with flashlights, to test if the light attracts sharks. It does.
I think strapping lights all over this asshole and tossing him into the crystal clear waters in the Bahamas (after accidentally cutting just the tiniest little flesh wound) would be amusing.
The sharks are small (compared to a great white) so, they would basically nibble his ass to death – no “one-bite” death there.

He should be bond and wear a water proof helmet. Why? Because inside the helmet we’d install a tiny microphone to record his rants and raves.
He would wear a backpack buoy to keep him from going to the bottom of the ocean floor and to restrict him from surfacing. It’ll leave him within comfortable range of the sharks.
Oh and for kicks we’d beam the ‘Jaws’ movie theme into his helmet earpiece so that he can enjoy the moment.
He must have scuba gear too. I want him to stay alive for quite a while. Forget all the “humane” crap – don’t let him die fast – he doesn’t deserve it.

i hope it was over quickly, too but i know the poor little thing suffered. i hope braddy suffers worse than she did being put to death and then continues to suffer in hell. i have heard a lot of heinous things, but this is one of the worst. what kind of monster even thinks to do such a thing to a little girl, let alone carry it out? he deserves more of a punishment than he could ever get on earth.

i’m a little naive as to the ins and outs of the death penalty… How is it decided whether it be lethal injection or the chair… Does that even happen any more? The chair i mean, what is the method most often used and what will this beast be most likely given? Sorry to appear such a numbty but i really don’t know much about this subject, this is the sort of case that definitely merits death though, sadly it prob won’t be the lingering painful demise this sick fuck deserves, but its better than keeping him in bed and food at tax payers expense… That poor little mite… R.I.P babygirl x x x
It does get confusing, because every state legislates their own manner of execution. Most states have retired their electric chair and now use lethal injection exclusively. At least one state offers their death row inmates the choice of the electric chair or lethal injection, and Utah even adds a third choice, death by firing squad, to the list. The choice always belongs to the person being executed.

Then this douchebag attempted to escape prison after he was sentenced to death. All of these stories are horrible but this one has literally made my heart sink and my stomach drop. I have a 15 month old and I cannot imagine a 5 year old in the Everglades…I can’t even say the rest. Does anyone know how to write a petition that we can start on the web asking Gov. Charlie Crist to send this guy to the gurney ASAP?
Been a while since I checked in on this story almost a year.. Glad to see this Sub Human, and I reserve this word for the worst of the worst. I dont think I can type what this man deserves here, but as a Father of a 6 year old child I would say this.
He would have never made it to trial, in the time alone it took to start justice on this Sub Human I could have learned everything about stalking ect, ect, purchased a 50 Cal Barrett sniper rifle and brought justice to subhuman quicker…
Everytime I read this it feels me with rage, thats why its been a year. I watch over my wife and kids like a hawk, there never going to get my family.. This is what the defenition of evil truly is… I could go on… and on… and on…
