David Hawn is a serial child molester. Mr. Hawn was convicted in 1989 of molesting a child.
He was also just convicted of child molestation for his sexual involvement with a then 12-year-old girl.
43-year-old David Hawn pled guilty to child molestation and was given a 40 year sentence.
Steven Hawn, David Hawn’s 22-year-old son, was sentenced to 10 years a month prior for molesting the same girl when she was 13.
Steven Hawn alleged that the relationship was consensual, but the girl admitted to authorities that she started the relationship with him because she wanted to avoid sex with his father.
His father had, of course, impregnated the girl, a fact which was discovered after she went to the county authorities and told them that either David or Steven Hawn could be the father.
David Hawn did have a parting remark, however.
He said, “I hope that someday she’ll find a gentleman to take care of her and take care of the baby.”

Despite its status as a far overused defence, I can to a minimal extent understand the “she wanted it” argument, as girls as young as 12 can feel something akin to desire towards older males. Thing is, they are still children at that stage, and children tend to live in a world where the word stop means stop and where adults tend to have their best interests at heart. They are not prepared for the consequences of acting upon that desire, and it is the adult man’s responsibility to be aware of this and to handle the situation accordingly.
Or, to put it simply, to deflect that desire as gently as possible.
Or, to put it in words even a moron can understand, to do NOTHING.
Why? Because a child is not a fuckable member of humanity. At least not in any civilized society. Regardless of if the sexual relationship was consenual or otherwise, Steven is still a rapist. Ever heard of statutory rape? That would be having intercourse with a child under the age of legal consent (which does vary from state to state, with certain restrictions.) Standing by your man in this particular case does not make you a good partner, it merely makes you look the fool in the relationship.

As I said before I worked in prison with sex offenders & trust me it is MUCH more than theory! It is hard empirical, long term evidence. What SOTP (sex offender treatment program) program did he do in prison? If any. He needed to have done a rolling & booster program to even BEGIN to address Relapse Prevention but with what he served, I seriously doubt he managed this.
Just because he hasn’t (to your knowledge) been with another child doesn’t mean it won’t happen again. But you Casey cannot minimise what HAS happened. That is dangerous for you & the wider community who come into contact with you both.
If you are living in this situation & accepting all that’s gone before then you have to be hypervigilant honey FOREVER!

You can have sex at 13 all you want, but you legally can’t consent until you’re of the age of consent in your state. If your partner was over the age of consent in your state, than it was statutory rape

Sure, a 13-year-old can consent to sex. That’s why statutory rape is considered a *slightly* less serious offense than forcible rape of a minor. Because the fact is, VERY few (if any) people of that age, in this society at least, have the emotional and social maturity to make intelligent decisions about sex. Adults are supposed to know better and have more control of their impulses than that. There’s nothing disgusting or perverted per se about feeling a sexual attraction to a post-pubescent adolescent; secondary sexual characteristics are very alluring, and attraction is a very primal thing. What’s disgusting is when an adult allows carnal lust to override his (or her) maturity and think it’s okay to act on the attraction just because it exists. And we’re not even talking about mid- to late teens here, we’re talking about girls of 12 or 13 years who may not even have finished developing physically yet. Girls that age tend to be cute and full of romance, not sexually aggressive. Even if she was flirting with him, a man who can’t resist the tentative overtures of a child that age isn’t just weak-willed, he is SICK. At any rate, according to the victim in this case, there was at least some element of manipulation or coercion involved. And these assholes didn’t even care enough about this girl’s health and well-being to take precautions against pregnancy. There are no excuses here. This isn’t a borderline case, or a thought-provoking case that raises interesting questions about maturity and consent. This is about predatory behavior, pure and simple.

I lost my “best friend” in high school when she (at 14) told me she was sleeping with, and living with, her mother’s 38 yo ex- boyfriend. The school was under the impression she was living with her mother. I went to our guidance counsellor. She was removed from the house, her mother and the ex were locked up and she was sent up- country to live with her father. At the time I felt like I had ruined her life because she told me how much she hated me, her father was too strict, she had lost the love of her life. I felt pretty terrible about it until I finished high school. And then I got a big old cup of “grow the fuck up” and stopped beating myself up. Being a stool- pigeon at that time was probably one of the best things I’ve ever done for anyone else in my life.

When a child is intimately involved (i.e. involved in intercourse) with an adult, another child, etc, sometimes they are so shattered mentally by the experience that they cease to mentally develope.
