Don’t Tease The Kid With The Baseball Bat
On the 12th of April in 2005, 15-year-old Jeremy Rourke, a foot taller and a hundred pounds heavier than 13-year-old Greg Harris, shoved the smaller boy into a concession stand twice.
Greg Harris hefted his baseball bat and swung twice at Jeremy Rourke, hitting him first in the knee. As Rourke doubled over in pain, Greg Harris hit him as hard as he could in the head - a strike that killed the older boy.
Originally convicted of second-degree murder, in January of 2007, an appeals court decided that Greg Harris had acted “In the heat of passion” and dropped the severity of the charge from murder to voluntary manslaughter.
Harris was sentenced to serve 11 years in juvenile detention for manslaughter, with credit for two years already served.
Thinning The Herd
On the 9th of August in 2007, 25-year-old William Stanley Sutton III added a substance called ProstaMate to a pop that he then gave to his 21-year-old girlfriend Lauren Ashley Tucker, who was pregnant with his child.
ProstaMate is a compound given to cows that can be used to bring all the cows a farmer possesses into heat at the same time, making the breeding process a snap.
It can also be used to bring on an abortion to a female cow if it’s gotten pregnant too young, or if it’s had sex with a bull that it wasn’t meant to have sex with.
Lauren Tucker drank the pop and immediately began to feel sick. After vomiting, William Sutton told Tucker to drink more pop because, “soda helps an upset stomach.”
Lauren Tucker went to the local hospital for examination where the doctors told her that she had been poisoned, but that the fetus was still alive. She was 15 weeks pregnant at the time.
After his arrest, Sutton told authorities that he bought the compound from a veterinarian with the intention of causing a miscarriage and that he never meant to hurt her.
He was released on bond and told to stay away from Lauren Tucker.
