27-year-old Elizabeth Reta ignored this advice and, after giving her son a bath, wiped 8-month old Samuel Reta’s little nose with a cotton swab that had meth residue on it.
Samuel Reta, not being a heavy meth user like his dear old mom, had a seizure when the meth took effect.
Elizabeth Reta’s boyfriend, Juan Antonio Sanchez Jr., who happened to be both on parole and a medical genius, used the most modern techniques to detoxify the child – he tied Samuel Reta to a bed, shook him, slapped him and splashed him with cold water.
For three days the boy was tortured.
Juan “Johnny” Sanchez refused to allow Elizabeth to take Samuel Reta to the hospital because he was afraid that he might be sent back to prison. He had been convicted of robbery in 2001 and had already been deported once, you see.
Unfortunately for Samuel Reta, and as could be expected by anyone with a higher IQ than 20, Juan Sanchez’s hitting and shaking of Samuel Reta did nothing except break the little guy’s arm and fracture his skull.
Police responded to an emergency call on the thirtieth of August, 2007 at the Reta residence and found Samuel Reta in full cardiac arrest.
Elizabeth Reta was arrested shortly after the comatose baby was taken to the hospital. A closer look by doctors at the child found evidence of a pattern of abuse, and neglect. Samuel had pneumonia in addition to the broken arm, a broken rib, a bite mark on the arm, and assorted other injuries that were caused by the boy being shaken.
Authorities originally booked her into jail with the intention of charging her with felony child abuse.
Then Samuel Reta died in the hospital on Friday, the 31st of August, 2007. He never came out of his coma.
The cause of death appeared to be abusive head trauma.
Now Elizabeth Reta has been charged with murder.
Juan Sanchez, who hid from paramedics in a closet while they were treating Samuel Reta, was arrested at his mother’s house. He also has been charged with murder.
During an interrogation session with the authorities, Juan Sanchez admitted that some of the behavior Elizabeth Reta accused him of was true, but that it wasn’t as bad as she had made it out to be.
According to “Johnny” Sanchez, he had only spanked Samuel, gently slapped him, and “hit him a little bit on his chest,” in order to help the baby “snap out of it.” He admitted that he had kept the baby from going to the hospital, but claimed that it was only for two days.
Yes, I think Juan Sanchez will get a special prize in Hell.
Juan denied actually tying the baby to the bed, saying that the only thing he did to restrain the child was put a nice fluffy pillow on Samuel Reta’s left hand, so he couldn’t put it in his mouth. Juan did, however, claim that Elizabeth Reta had tied the boy’s hand with a bandana.
When his claims met with disbelief from the authorities, Juan shrugged and said that he may have gone a “little bit overboard” and had shaken the baby a “little bit too hard.”

Yeah, I understand that you love her and want to protect her; that she is the only mom you have.
Well, she did such a bad job of being a “mom” that society put her away. Deal with it. It does not matter what you think, because you have not reached the age of consent yet. Society, a big group of people not on meth or sniffing glue, have rules about the kind of behaviour that they expect from parents, and the kind of behaviour they do not allow. They are called “laws”. If you break them, society will take you away and put you in a prison, where you cannot get meth or heroin or chicken mcnuggets.
There are two types of crimes: crimes of commission and crimes of omission. Uncle Juan killed your baby brother, that’s a crime of commission. Mommie knew about the beating, over several days, and failed in her duty as a mother, to get the baby to hospital; that’s a crime of omission. That lead to the baby dying. Which was a murder. So society have charged her with murder. (If she was white, the charge would be “failing to protect”, but she would be charged and jailed.)
If she wasn’t a meth head, she would not plea-bargain, she would fight charges for what she did not do, and accept charges for what she did. But being a meth freak is not compatible with being a mom; not compatible with keeping her ass out of prison; not compatible with looking after you; not compatible with keeping YOUR ass out of prison.
Now, the sooner you accept that that is what you had for a mother, the sooner you can deal with it, and get a bit of mothering from other people in society, and move past the crimes of omission of your mother. And until then, whether that is weeks or a lifetime, you will be stuck with the non-mothering that you had. You can still love her, as a meth head. But pretending she wasn’t one will stunt your growth.

Kid, I’m sorry you had a worthless egg donor for a mother, but the facts are the facts. Even if mommy dearest didn’t beat your poor baby brother to death, she did allow meth in a home where children were (which is not only dangerous for so many many reason, but also illegal), AND she allowed her equally worthless boyfriend to beat your brother to death.
If your mother were a good mother she would have been a hell of a lot less concerned with wether her boy toy/ meth dealer was arrested and/ or deported and would have got the desperately needed help your baby brother needed! By NOT taking your brother to a doctor HE DIED, therefore, your mother is just as responsible as the piece of shit who beat him!
Get with the program kiddo. Your mom may be your mom, but she is also not a very good person. I hope things can get better for you, and that instead of ending up bitter you can learn from this tragedy! Stay away from drugs, get a good education, and do something worthwhile with your life. Oh wait, it appears that Juan Antonio Sanchez Jr. has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for beating 8-month-old Samuel Reta to death. Seems he was found guilty by a judge after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter on September 30th, 2010. Elizabeth Reta also plead no contest to the same charge and will receive 11 years when she is sentenced on Thursday.
Once again, some friend or family member of one of our earliest scumbags, who’s story has been forgotten over the years, attacks us because they’re mad that their loved one is going to prison for the crime they committed. Now I’ll have to do an update for the front page, and you’ll have to go through a whole new round of comments directed at your baby-killing relative/friend.

Everyone knows you’re NEVER supposed to shake a baby . . . but as awful as it is, babies are so fragile I can almost understand how it happens – it would only take a few seconds’ loss of self-control to inflict severe, even lethal, damage. But to BITE a baby? No. Just, no. That isn’t something that could EVER “just happen.” You don’t accidentally bite your baby. You don’t freak out for a few seconds and bite your baby. There are only two good reasons I can think of to bite a baby, ever: 1) you’re sucking venom out of a snakebite, or 2) you’re a fucktard who needs to be taken out and shot. Oh scratch that, that second one is a really BAD reason.
I am so sick of these stupid women being more concerned about their significant others than they are about their own offspring. And if he was deported once, why in the hell is he back in the US? This is a prime example of why we need to make it tougher for illegals and immigrants to get welfare. They come over here, leech off the system, and then do stupid shit like this!
Amen to that, but there’s one problem with that theory: even if we kept the illegals out, there’s still a multitude of naturalized and native miscreants to deal with. Perhaps if we started taking all of these offenders who think it’s ok to rape and murder because it suits them and dropped them off in Siberia (or another equally desolet place) after sterilizing them we *might* start to solve the problem.
