James Winquist and Eric Snow
23-year-old James “Twisted” Winquist and 25-year-old Eric “Killa” Snow are two white-supremacists who don’t play well with others.
The two met, appropriately enough, in prison, where they both joined the “Brotherhood of Blood” – an Aryan prison organization.
Eric Snow is the one with “Killa” tattooed on his neck. James Winquist has “Twisted” inked on his back.
The pair were close friends. They hung out in Winquist’s mother’s basement, dancing to white pride music underneath a Nazi flag.
Sometime in the later half of April, the two Nazis were wandering around Bare Cove Park in Hingham. As per usual, they were carrying baseball bats, in case they met any “inferior races” that needed a beatdown.
Eventually they came across an abandoned military ammunition bunker on the state wildlife preserve. Inside this munition bunker were two white homeless men – 47-year-old William Chrapan and 49-year-old David Lyons.
James and Eric had been there before. Earlier in the year, they had tossed a lit flare into the bunker, which had ignited the homeless guys’ tent.
This time they came for blood.
Setting upon the two older men, James and Eric beat the two homeless men to death with the baseball bats, for no other reason than sheer cruelty.
Once the two murderers had caught their breath, one of them produced a knife, which they used to cut a hand off one of their victims.
Their bloodlust sated, Eric and James walked from the bunker, leaving the bodies of the two homeless men on the ground to rot.
The bodies were found a few days later by someone walking by.
James Winquist and Eric Snow kept the hand as a trophy, carrying it around with them.
Eventually, at a party with some friends, they showed the hand to a group of people, pulling it out of an ice chest. and showing it off to their Aryan buddies at a party. During this party, Eric Snow and James Winquist told everyone what they had done, mocking the victims’ cries for help. They made gurgling sounds to demonstrate how their victims had sounded at the last.
Two years later, on the 31st of August, 2007, police arrested the pair.
James Winquist was walking along a street with his girlfriend, Erin McLaughlin, and their 7-month-old daughter, Aryana.
Eric Snow was sitting at home on his porch.
James Winquist’s mother, Lisa Winquist, has claimed her son is innocent of the murder. Of course she’s also said that he’s not a white supremacist either – he just likes having a bald head and SS tattoos.
They’ve got the wrong guy, as far as my son goes. He has nothing against anybody, my son could never do anything like this. My son does have a heart.

there is no evedience of any kind yes they do have a human hand that was found near eric snows house but he was not in even in the state of ma when all this took place thats number one and number two is that even if he had been he is teddybear that wouldnt hurt a fly same with james they are both loving men and truly care about everyone, there is no DNA of any kind there are no finger print there are no blood stained clothing that was found anywhere near james or eric and they never found the so called murder weapon, also 3 days before the bodies were found a young man that we all pretty much know as the hingham nut job was boosting about how he killed two homeless men and put their dead bodies in an old bunker near his home but not before he removed one of the mens hands to keep as a trophy, this man is spiting distance from where the victims bodies were in fact found and this guy has a beef with eric beacuse eric had confronted him about stealing from james winquist that guy told eric that eric would be sorry for blaming him for the stolen belongings and that he would in fact get even with him then low and behold a human hand was found near eric snows family home but that hand was not found on the snows property how ever it was found near a telephone poll within walking distance from the snows home, even when you look at the little movie that was made on youtube that had been calling eric and james killers with the footage from court they said themselves that this will be a difficult case for the district attorneys office to try beacuse this case is so old, the truth of the matter is that hingham is a very political town and most of the people that live in hingham make campagin contributions and the local police just wanted to close this case so they made the choice to play the blame game with eric and james beacuse they have caused some trouble in the past and they just wanted to get them off the streets at whatever cost weather they were guilty or not did not matter to them at all, eric and james were set up bya young man that simply has an issue with eric snow and the police bought it hook line and sinker beacuse they wanted their jobs to be that much easyer. and as far as me lying for eric and james that would never happen and if i thought for even a moment that they could have done this i would not be defending them the way i am beacuse i am a big fan of never being violent and i like to solve my problems with words and i dont associate myself with people that are known for being in anyway violent but if you want more infomation on the man that did in fact kill those poor homeless men feel free to contact me at anytime day or night. all i want is for these charges to be dismissed and for eric and james to be returned back to the ones that love them and care about them.

I have a little knowledge of James Winquist. First off he is no angel. I am truly sorry for his daughter who will most likely grow up with out her father, but then again maybe her Mother will find someone who has real morals who will become a good influence on her child. I am aware it is hard not defend the man you love or for that matter, choose who your heart falls in love with. (If in fact your old enough to know what love is), but James is a sick young man and has been since I met him years ago, he started out in trouble as young as 9, he has been back and forth in the system and between parents at one point. He has displayed crutelty to animals (the first sign of a sick mind, lets all keep Ted Bundy & Jeffrey Dahmer in mind here), he began abusing drugs at a young age, huffing freon from ac units, and taking pills to hurt himself, he was taken out by ambulance from his Rhodes circle home. And although I am not to judge, whose opinion is it that he came from a good and loving home? He was raised by his Mother who had many different men in her life, although I don’t doubt she loved him (or loves him), she was no roll model, drugs booze and no parental guidance does not a good parent make! If I may add I believe his mother is in jail or will be soon for her fourth offense of drinking and driving, do you think getting behind the wheel of a car intoxicated not once (which most would say is an over sight) but four times, and that is just the times she was caught is a teaching tool of a good parent. Is this a stable home? I know his mother and I don’t doubt she has a great heart, but she has made poor choices and in retrospect it has trickled down on a kid who I feel has emotional and mental issues to beging with. Please let the law do their job, lest not forget two homelss men and I knew one of them from high school (he was harmless and a good natured kid then, and from what I know of him till his death he stayed an good person with alcohol problems, but he was never unkind) these two men have lost their lives because someone felt it necessary to become a taker of life for no other reason but to show off to make themselves look evil, and in this case who ever it was looks pretty damn evil in anyones eyes. It is now up to the law to prove what happened but lets not pretend there was no harm intended here or that the persons accused are good people. As far as Julie, I would like to hear who you think is responsible, I have seen names like David Courage and Mike (Mental) Alfano thrown in here. Please educate me on this. Don’t ask me to email you because honestly this whole thing scares the hell out of me, and I don’t want to be that close to it! As far as the boy who killed his father, how do we know what circumstances were involved? Maybe his father beat him and abused him sexually or possibly he saw his father hurt other family members. All these things can lead to a psychotic break in any normal person let alone someone who may have underlying issues. Lets go with this one, I lost a family memeber to a drug overdose, years of abusing it and it fianlly took its toll, was this person out killing people, or abusing harmless animals, no! That is the difference between someone who is addicted and someone who is just not capable of making good choices, never in all the years that this member was abusing did they ever hurt anyone, infact they were the opposite, well loved good hearted and would do anything for anyone. In the end they paid the ultimate price, they lost the one thing that God gave them, LIFE! and no one has the right to take Life from anyone, yes there are circumstances that are factored in when murder is committed, (as I said before, years of abuse by the person murdered, or mental problems such as a psychotic break). Can you tell me what these two homelsess men did to the accused to warrant them to justify murdering them? As far as James’s Mother goes, I did say he did not grow up in the best of homes, but again we all have to make choices in life, I grew up in poverty with an alcoholic parent, was abused when I was young, but I made good choices in life, I have a good home I do not take drugs I do not abuse alcohol (knowing the genitics of my parent predisposed me to become an alcoholic or to have the addicive gene of any kind.) My children are well taken care of have never been in trouble or used drugs, sure they have tried alcohol (90% of teenages do), but have never been in trouble with it or even attended parties where their peers would pressure them into drinking, all choices they made on their own. Lisa is a good person at heart. (I have nothing to back up the accusation made by Rick that she treated James badly, because I honestly never saw her treat him bad, if fact if anyone treated anyone bad it was James putting his mother through hell.)She has had a hard life, losing her dad, her friend Mark dying, his ex wife being murdered, and so much more, on top of problems with her son for years. I have known her to always try to help people out, did she make bad choices in life, yes, but she is not a monster. But again (whoever it is you can stop calling people retards, the facts are pointing towards the two who are being held for the murder), Julie I asked you to tell me more on the others whose names I have read about, if you can’t then just say you can’t, but please remeber we are all intiltled to our opinions without being called derogatory names, I never once called you anything, nor did I call James any names I stated what I knew. I had asked some questions about people who have been thrown into the mix with the names of David Courage and Mike Alfano, she had commented on another page about them being part or souldy the ones who had something to do with the murder rather than those being held, and I want to know if she has any insight on this and what her reasons for thinking they did it or had info on the real story. Julie Hunt is an idiot. I didn’t know Eric but I grew up with James. He always tortured small animals and enjoyed it. He would break into houses and always loved flare guns. He was in psych wards and juvie from a young age and his piece of shit mom always defended him like he was an angel. He stole peoples bikes left and right and was just a ticking time bomb. I think his mom or dad molested him or something he was always a bad kid.

I cannot understand why any parent would willingly provide a place for their underaged son or daughter to have sex. And I don’t mean the kind where the kids sneak around. I mean the kind where they openly allow it. I don’t understand why that would not be a prosecutable offense.
If you openly allow your kids and their friends to do drugs, drink, and have sex at a residence you own, rent or live at, as a parent, it seems like you should legally be open to some kind of prosecution. Corruption of a minor, at the least?

I feel for the child as well, as far as genes are concerned I know James and his family he is not innocent by any means, but he is also missing a certain part of his brain that causes him not to think about consequences, or to have feelings for anyone, there is definately a bad gene in that kids wire works. I am aware not everyone does what their parents do, but in some cases it is hereditary and this worries me for the childs sake. Well Erin, it was me he raped. He raped me AFTER we had split up. We split up because he had started using drugs and acting like a huge asshole. He broke in, locked me ands my sons in the house for a week, repeatedly raped and beat me and tried to kill me.
The second i could get away, i did, with my sons, and went straight to the police, where i reported him and he was arrested and i never saw him outside of a court room ever again. I never claimed he was ‘innocent’ and that he was ‘set up’ and i certainly never supported him.
He had no previous charges or convictions and until he started in on the drug use was a decent man.
I have also been very careful not to ever let a man of his ilk into my life again. It happened over ten years ago and i only just remarried last year.And while there is no story about him on here, if there was, i would be the last person to comment on his crimes. The first question is obvious – Where’s your proof? Thanks to one of our readers, the story that the two victims were sex offenders has been totally discredited. I’m glad to see you’re now repeating that lie anymore. But you guys are always good for talk but very thin on actual proof. I trashed the David Courage nonsense in about 5 minutes, again with the help of one of our readers, and some corroborating evidence to back him up. What else do you have?
The second, and more important question is, if the State’s case is so weak, why haven’t Winquist’s and Snow’s defense team pressed for an immediate trial? It is the right of every defendant to a speedy trial, yet Frik and Frak are still languishing in prison. If I thought I had the State over a barrel, I’d go for my trial right away, I wouldn’t wait around and allow them all kinds of time to build a stronger case against me. The bravado in your words don’t match the meekness of your actions – you need to explain that, or pathetic people like us will just keep laughing at you when you make stupid, pointless, illogical comments like this.
You can’t just get a trial going with a snap of a finger, it doesn’t work like that. I know people that actually did their crime and it still took the court system five years to convict the person. The right to a speedy trial does not exist anymore because too many people are in jail right now and there is not enough judges to judge all these cases. Besides, the state isn’t going to build a stronger case, they have already interogated everyone and their Mother, trying to squeeze evidence out of people that isn’t there. Also, you can’t just choose when you want your trial to start, if that were the case we would have a whole hell of a lot less people in jail. Everything in a case like this or any case is a long lengthy process.

It’s unintelligent to classify people. That is the problem in our society today. We put people in certain classifications and with those classifications come preconcieved notions as to what a person must be like, based on their classification. Oh, that person is blonde, they must be ditzy, that kid is a nerd, he must wear glasses, that person knows some people that have broken the law, they must be ignorant. We should all judge people based on who they are, not on the typical stereotypes society has drilled into our heads.
Another thing that really bothers me about people looking down on others who disobey the law so much is, how do you expect a person to clean up their act if all you can do is shame them for what they have done? How is a person suppossed to become a upstanding citizen when no one will hire them because they have a record? It’s a never ending cycle that is practically impossible to escape. A person goes to jail, gets out of jail, looks for a job and fails to find one because no one will hire them because of their record. Because they are broke and have no legal way to make money they start to make money in illegal ways and end up just being put back in prison and the cycle starts all over again. I am not saying that all criminals truly want to conform, but some of them do and our society makes it so hard for them to conform.
Actually, it’s very intelligent to classify people. But it must be done intelligently. The things you listed are more useful in a school playground than in real life.
I do judge people based on how they look sometimes. We all do, but some of us apply logic to get to any conclusion. For instance, if you see someone who is very over-weight and looks as if they haven’t seen a shower in weeks, you can be pretty certain that person is depressed and has low self-esteem. Therefore I would classify that person as ‘depressed’.
If I see a person hanging around with and dressing like gang members, I can intelligently apply the label ‘gangster’ to them. The people they spend their time with are a reflection of who they are themselves. No one hangs around with people who aren’t of like mind. Logically.
If I see someone post on a blog that they think it’s unintelligent to classify people, I can assume that person doesn’t have much experience with humans in a social setting and they don’t understand such blanket statements are ridiculous, so I could rightly call that person ‘socially inept’.
People who have committed crimes, especially violent crimes, should have to fight harder to live a normal life than those of us who obey the laws of civilized society and don’t maim or kill other people. Why should we feel obligated to extend an extra helping of love and understanding to people who have already stomped on us? Where is the logic in that? Where is the sense of self-preservation? What have they done to earn help or trust?
@Me: Before you condemn the posters here for “looking down on others who disobey the law” and see us all as vidictive assholes who are unwilling to give people caught in an unfortunate situation a second chance, think back to what crimes – and what type of criminals – are represented in the stories on this website. Let’s see, we have murder, multiple murder, mass murders, manslaughter (usually DUI or something similar), child abuse, etc.
We’re not talking poverty-induced shoplifting here. Nor honest mistakes or extremely unlucky coincidences. In all cases I’ve read here, on this website, evil has in one way or another been present and accounted for.
And another thing – I don’t think most posters here condemn the criminals as much as the crimes themselves. This precisely because of the nature of the crimes represented. The fact that the criminals are identified lends credibility to the stories, and makes it easier to google up more articles on the web from other sources. Besides, I’ve come to respect the integrity of this site. Ask yourself this: how many times have pysih had to publish a retraction and an apology for false accusations? You don’t end up here unless there’s a strong reason to think you’re guilty. And if it turns out you’re innocent, that will also be prominently featured here. Regardless if you’re let loose on a technicality.
Now, you asked: “how do you expect a person to clean up their act if all you can do is shame them for what they have done?” Again I’d like to remind you of the nature of the crimes presented here. This very case, for instance. How can we not shame two young men who beat two homeless men to death with baseball bats? The very crime itself goes against any concept of morality. How many homeless people have you seen? And of those you have seen, how many do you think would be fit to fight back, unarmed, when attacked by two goons with baseball bats? The choice of victim here more than sufficiently illustrates the evil nature of the crime. And for that, we have every right to shame them.
As for the rest of your post, I agree, it’s a tough nut to crack. I’m not a big believer in people being able to change – willing, yes, but it takes more than wanting it to make it happen, and there most people fail – but I can understand how having a record makes life an uphill battle. Still, not all people stuck in poverty resort to crime. There’s that old saying, that opportunity makes the thief. But even when faced with an opportunity, it always comes down to being a matter of choice. And having a record more often than not reveals the choices you’ve made, not the opportunities you’ve had. And that’s why it has become such a stigma.
Again, I agree, in some cases it’s an unfair assumption. But at the moment that, unfortunately, is how the world works. Until someone comes up with a better solution.

A right to a speedy trial is guaranteed in the constitution. Every State has a maximum time by which the prosecution must bring defendants to trial, unless the defense either asks for or agrees to a delay. That’s Law 101. Look it up smart ass.
And do really you believe the police have stopped investigating leads? Depending on how badly they want to convict someone, they will investigate right up until the case goes to the jury – your naivete’ is showing sweetheart. They haven’t had to manufacture evidence, Snow And Winquist were dumb enough to show off the most important evidence at a fucking party full of people – the hand.

Max the Cat is absolutely correct and I will back it up for him. Massachusetts criminal rule 36 is the speedy trial rule. You can see it here: http://www.massreports.com/courtrules/criminal.htm#Rule36 The rule gives the government 12 months to bring a case to trial but EXCLUDES certain time from that 12 months including but not limited to: a delay resulting from interlocutory appeals; or a delay resulting from hearings on pretrial motions. Since these two assholes appealed regarding issues related to the grand jury, all of that time must be excluded from the 12 months. On top of that, the defendant’s must prove that the delay prejudiced them AND that they were diligent in pursuing their speedy trial option. According to MASSACHUSETTS RULES OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE, a defendant can be held for a year awaiting a trial in District or Superior Court, and a year can mean more than a year. That is, various occurrences stop the “Speedy Trial clock” from running, so a year isn’t 356 consecutive days but 365 days when the state is not ready to go forward and the defense doesn’t agree to the delay.

BTW, that’s exactly how the US Supreme Court ruled in the case of Barker v. Wingo. Just something I ran across while I was doing my research. The Court came up with a legal “test” to determine if the “Speedy Trial rule” had been violated:

Thanks Max, as a side note, the word Rule is the important one here. These two defendants, through their representation, waived their “RIGHT” to a speedy trial, in order to abuse the rules, to gain more time, to help reduce the efficacy of the overwhelming case against them.
Perhaps this was the wrong forum to comment on this sort of things I decided to comment on. Thanks, Max the Cat for the info you have given us to start off. Vcbecky obviously there is a time and a place to “classify” people, I am not socially inept as you put it, you can’t make an inference like that on one comment someone has made. All I was trying to say is before people classify others as one thing or another and you should try and get to know a little more about them, that’s all. And why should we try and help others that have made mistakes and committed crimes? I don’t know maybe these people haven’t been given the same oppurtunities as you and need a helping hand to try to adapt..? Maybe for the general caring of humanity and it’s prospering? Just like we treat people for diseases like flu, AIDS or alcoholism, we should treat our citizens that are affected by violence and their violent symptoms. And Homer I am not saying that these people should not be shamed for what they have done, I was referring to crimes much more miniscule. This is a crime that these murderers should feel shame for for the rest of their eternity, because it was senseless, brutal and inhumane I am not denying that. I wasn’t given any extra opportunities to adapt, I simply made better choices than these two wastes of skin. They neglect to take other peoples’ right to live into consideration. I never felt the need to victimize an entire segment of society to make me feel better about myself. Racists, particularly overt ones like these dipshits, PARTICULARLY ignorant ones who don’t even know they qualify as one of the people they actually hate, choose to be the way they are. At their age, I have no sympathy or pity for them.
Helping these guys live on the outside contributes to the betterment of society in exactly what way? I feel keeping them in the pokey forever actually contributes more to society than letting them out. When they get out, I think justice is further served when they have to struggle to live. I don’t see why they should be able to slip back into society with no further affect on their lives and no one monitoring them, to enjoy the benefits that law abiding, non-killers enjoy. Life isn’t preschool. There is no “Everyone Gets A Trophy” day. Time spent in prison doesn’t zero them out. They should have to claw their way back to ‘normal’.
There are far more people who are capable of playing by the rules than there are monsters like these two. The people who play by the rules are the ones who deserve our help and resources, not the ones who have no respect for society. There should be a ‘Help Triage”. Murderers should be at the bottom of the list because they’ve already taken a lot from society. Why should we volunteer more? Other people deserve it more and our resources are finite. It’s just that simple.
I think your heart is bleeding all over this website. I think you should do a turn as a prison guard, to see what scum like this is really like when they’re not trying to gain your sympathy. P.S. I also think you should look up the word ‘mistake’. What these skinbags did doesn’t qualify as a ‘mistake’. Holding a baseball bat and accidentally winging someone as you’re turning around is a ‘mistake’. Intentionally pounding people to death with it is intentional.
After carefully reviewing your comments so far, I think we can safely say that VcBecky’s hunch that you are socially inept was correct. You were unaware of the most basic concepts involved in supporting your opinions, you seemed to parrot the arguments others have probably used effectively to defuse your own arguments(admittedly in a nonsensical fashion and without merit in this case, forum or form), and you do not have the capacity or the ability to back up what you say with factually supported argument. These skills are necessary to effective communication. Please pursue your education further, whether formally or informally(a library card is usually free) and return when you have the skills necessary to communicate as an adult. It should take no less than five days for you to read a book about effective written communication and show at least a 50% total improvement, but to help you along the way.
Step 1: Clearly state your opinion, concisely and with concrete terms.

Step 4: Prepare the ground work for future rebuttals
Step 5: Read and ask for clarification when you don’t fully understand a topic, or avoid topics that are outside of your realm of expertise. It’s often a good idea to pave the way here and note your limitations in exercises like these. For example, you could have said “While I am not a lawyer, my basic understanding of the legal system suggests that you cannot simply demand a trial date to be swiftly granted and various motions are limited.” What you instead showed, was your limited understanding of the English language as it applies to the legal system. People with a minimum understanding of the law know that the law is supposed to be a clearly communicated and effective transition of the parameters of justice as dictated by legal precedent, representative government established legal code, legal code dictated by common law or foreign precedent, and the translation and interpretation of the community standards as interpreted by the official representatives of the courts and the courts officers.
Step 6: Argue your opinion politely as if you are a guest in a home you’ve been invited into. A guest who is boorish, abusive, unruly, dishonest and fails common courtesy, will probably be asked to leave. Would you want someone who acted the way you did to come in and call your significant other or other guests in your home bad names?
Step 7: Respond at the level of the room or better. You may think you were at the level of the room or better, but you’re not. It’s not a matter of race, of character or distinction, but your response was simply wrong. It did not adequately support its main points, was insulting and falsely authoritative, and thus was arrogant and rude.
Step 8: Admit when you are wrong.

Violent people are a public health risk to everyone and being against them is only going to make them hurt more people. I do understand that it is the duty of my society to inform against monsters, to prosecute them whenever possible, and to exterminate them once found, or if all else fails to jail them. You fail to understand the tiny chains that make it all work. If we boil this all down at an elemental level, this website and the community formed around it are at a drum circle. All of us dance, because the steps we dance here are the same ritual information that ten thousand years of tradition have distilled within us. This system works. We tell people about what bad men and women did, we figure out how to stop it, and we put into our children and our tradition that bad people should be destroyed.
Find that in a book Poindexter, it’s in several, and the PhDs who wrote those books could make your third rate MD cry himself to sleep over his inadequacies.

Not only that, if you want people to listen to what you’re saying, you need to start putting a lot more meat on them bones you’re throwing around here. Making a statement, and telling us to read a book so that we “would understand what I am talking about” is a sure-fire way to get people to see you as an arrogant moron, and is a tactic (used by many a preacher and televangelist) that makes people even less inclined to pay you any attention, never mind respect either you or your opinion.
And another thing, if you want to go out with a bang (yay, you said “fuck”, and boy, didn’t that feel good?), at least make sure you leave as little room for misunderstanding as possible. As it is, I’m not sure I really understand what the hell you’re trying to achieve here. “Violent people are a public health risk to everyone”, okay, that I can agree with. But “being against them is only going to make them hurt more people”, what do you mean by that? Are you saying we should be for violent people, not against them? Or are you saying violent people need to be cuddled in order for them to learn not to be violent anymore?
