Ah, the joys of young love.
21-year-old Rachel C. Anderson and the love of her life, 21-year-old Mitch D. Laputka met in Utah. They found that they had a lot in common. They both liked to drink, they both liked to have sex, and they loved to go out and party.
After Rachel Anderson found herself pregnant, the parties ended for a little while and the happy couple decided to move back to Glendale, Wisconsin to be closer to Rachel’s family.
They both got a job at Glendale’s local Pizza Hut franchise.
Rachel Anderson gave birth to a boy in July of 2006. They named him Gabriel.
Life was good.
For them.
For Rachel Anderson’s son, Gabriel, life wasn’t so hot.
Apparently, Rachel Anderson’s maternal instinct never kicked in and she found that having a baby around seriously cut into her and Mitch’s party time.
Most of the money that they earned from their jobs at Pizza Hut ended up going into the “party fund,” which was used to buy alcohol.
Food for Gabriel wasn’t as high on their list of priorities.
When he went for his 6-month checkup in January, Gabriel was at the 30th percentile on the weight chart for babies his age - not too bad, but on the small side.
On the 12th of September, Gabriel Anderson was at the first percentile on the weight chart.
That was the day that the little 14-month-old guy was taken to the hospital by paramedics, who found the tyke in Rachel Anderson’s garbage-strewn apartment.
Paramedics described the apartment as “filthy” with trash scattered everywhere and dirty diapers and clothes thrown all over. According to the paramedics, they couldn’t set foot in the apartment without stepping on something.

Gabriel Anderson had been left alone overnight, strapped into a stroller in a room with open windows and an outside overnight temperature hitting the low 40’s.
Think about that for a second, folks. A 14-month-old baby, strapped to a stroller, sitting in a dirty diaper, and crying all night, wondering when “mommy” and “daddy” are going to come rescue him and hold him and make him warm and possibly feed him.
And where were “mommy” and “daddy” while their child was slowly dying?
Mitch Laputka and Rachel Anderson were out partying, drinking and having a good time.
When the paramedics arrived and initiated medical assistance, they found Gabriel’s temperature was an incredibly low 84 degrees - 12 degrees below normal. The little boy was unresponsive and not breathing. He was covered with severe rashes.
Through the efforts of well-trained medical personnel, Gabriel came back to the land of the living after 21 minutes of CPR.
Mitch Laputka and Rachel Anderson were arrested and charged with first-degree reckless injury and child neglect.
Their interviews with police were interesting.
Mitch Laputka announced that he “didn’t do diapers” because it was Rachel’s job.
I don’t do the changing and Rachel’s one of those persons who will blow their nose and throw the tissue on the ground.
Rachel Anderson told authorities that she really didn’t like to change Gabriel’s diapers and didn’t change diapers more than once a day, sometimes less. Considering the pair fed the child what little leftover pizza, carrots and other food was left over from that day at work, I’m surprised he was able to poop more than once a week.
According to Rachel Anderson, strapping her baby to a stroller and leaving him there while she and Mitch were at work, or putting Gabriel in a playpen overnight while they went out to party wasn’t unusual. They did it all the time. Pizza Hut doesn’t allow kids behind the counter, and she didn’t think babies are much fun at parties.
We wanted to party, have a good time, go out and do things we wanted to do.
Rachel Anderson and Mitch Laputka each face a possible sentence of 25 years and nine months in prison.

The good news is that these two will not always be young, and one day they won’t be able to care for themselves. Gabriel, thankfully to the efforts of the paramedics, will have the chance to go and have fun while his parents suffer what he went through. I cried for this child when I read this story. I can’t imagine how scared he must’ve been. I would love it if these two could be sent to my house for a week. It may sound barbaric but I am in favor of torturing creatures like this. I’m not sure how to even clasify them. Even animals care for and feed their young. I know that God will deal with them on judgement day, but I sure would delight in dealing with them until then. I hope everyone who reads this will say a prayer for Gabriel. Let us also hope that prison will not be kind to the two people who brought this poor child into the world.

1. Immediate sterilization of both of this child’s genetic donors.
2. Skip the foster care quicksand and put the child up for adoption immediately, with no contact between them until the child is adult enough to tell them how much they are hated.
I would imagine being stuck in a cell 24/7 might give them an idea of how it feels to be in a playpen all night. Too bad they can’t be srapped into a straitjacket and allowed to wallow in their own excrement for days….
The icing on the cake is that they were obviously such losers that it never occured to them that neglecting/abusing their child so that they could party would result in them being in a place where I heard there aren’t many parties. Yay for irony!

I knew both Rachel and Mitch when they started to date. I knew they would be nothing but trouble. Its been 2 years when I last talked to them. Today I look him up and this is the first thing to come up. I am out raged!!! I knew Mitch was LOW not this low. I give my prays out this strong and brave little boy Gabriel. Rachel is my cousin and you’ve got your facts wrong. What she did was horrible and I am going to tell you that if Mitch wanted to do something He made Rachel do it too. You’re also forgetting the fact that Mitch only came to Wisconsin because there was a warrent out for his arrest in Utah. Rachel is very influential and Mitch was very persuasive. I think you should also know that Rachel had some serious mental problems that she was suppose to be taking medication for. Mitch thought the medication was dumb so she stopped taking it which led to more problems. And just for the record, that scumbag Mitch tried to pin that whole thing on her and she is not that disgusting of a person, he is. Just remember there are two sides to every story. Hey its me again. I just wanted to reassure everyone that rachel is back on her meds and after realizing what she had done and crying for a long time she gave up parental rights. her parents are now raising him in a comfy, warm, respectable, Christian home. One day when Rachel gets out of prison Gabriel will be able to make the choice of whether he will forgive his mom for his nightmares.

I also wanted to tell you this: Mitch wrote Rachel a letter saying he was glad she was ditching the kid so that when they got out they could go back to Utah for some more drugs. It was then that Rachel realized exactly what kind of person Mitch was and she ditched him for good. As for Gabriel, he is the happiest little boy ever and enjoys spending his time eating and running around like a maniac.

These type of people make me sick! There are so many woman out there who would love to have children and are not able to. Or people like myself who have been lucky enough to have children, and want more but can’t have any due to health reasons. They are so many people that would have raised that baby and loved him like he was their own. Ewe! It just really bothers me! I don’t understand how people could be like like that to another human being. Let alone a child they felt growing inside of them and they gave birth to. Becoming a parent is a privilege, not a right. Not something that if it happens then oh well, it happens. I believe there is a special place in HELL for people like them! Baby’s belong to God, he just lets us borrow them for a while. I love my boys, they all teens now, but I can’t image anyone hurting them. They are my reason for living. This makes me want to go to Wisconsin and give them both a piece of my mind! And a little more, if you know what I mean!
