Great comment undecided. Thanks for putting into words what seems incredibly obvious to me. A nearly 30-year-old woman, or any adult for that matter, has no business having sex with a 13 year old girl. Period. If she did, she belongs in prison with the rest of the child molesters. And a mother who can’t figure out how wrong it is or how damaging something like this can be to her child needs to permanently lose her right to be a parent to this kid. Why some people find this so difficult to understand is beyond me.

Having been a tennis player and seen Claire Lyte and the girl around at many tournaments I wasn't surprised to have heard the news. I also wasn't surprised to have heard that the mother took so long to come forward with the information on it. The girl is was really needs to be thought about here, this has really messed her up for life. Claire Lyte deserves to go to hell for what she has done, there is no excuse for clearly taking advantage of a vulnerable child. However, the girls mother can go to hell for this aswell... Any mother who is more interested in her child's career than well being is disgusting and doesn't deserve to be a mother. This relationship may have been consented to by the girl, but who can really say at 13 they could make a proper decision on whether they should enter this relationship and Claire Lyte should have known how wrong it was. These two were spending atleast 4 - 6 hours a day together on court so your bound to be close to your coach, but there is no excusing how Claire Lyte took advantage of this closeness.

Glory Bug... Well said. I couldn't have said it any better. Also, Steven Stayner didn't commit suicide. He was killed in a motorcycle accident shortly after his second child was born. Steven Stayner had a pretty tragic and short life. It's really sad that he died in that motorcycle accident because he was actually starting to get his life together....he married a young lady who he really loved, had two beautiful children, and was starting to build a career and home. Then it was tragically cut short because of an accident. Every time I see the movie "I Know My First Name Is Steven", I can't help but cry because of how tragic his life turned out. That sicko that kidnapped him died in prison because he tried to get his housekeeper to buy him a four year old little boy. Thank goodness that the housekeeper got in contact with the police and she worked with the police to set him up and get him convicted. The whole Stayner family had a lot of problems. Steven's brother, Cary Stayner, is on death row for killing several women. I also read somewhere that the Stayner family father was in trouble several times for molesting the three daughters in the family over the years (now I don't know if this is true or not - it was just what I read somewhere. If it did really happen, then it really is just awful).

The point may be that the mother allowed this coach to have access to her daughter, in the hopes that the daughter would get to be a tennis superstar. The mom may have agreed (overtly or subtly) to trade off her daughter's innocence for the hopes of future riches and fame.

Women's tennis has been rife with scandals of lesbianism for years. I have read articles which say that it is virtually impossible for females to get ahead unless they are active lesbos. The few who are successful are usually shunned by the tennis divas.

That said, it does not lessen the coaches crime. It is nasty and vile and sick. It also makes no difference whether the teen was coerced, forced or was enthusiastic. But the MOM needs to be looked at too here. Why did she not immediately press charges? Why did she allow this pedoscumball around her kid? And what was the trigger that caused her to finally turn the cunt in? Was it because the daughter wasn't actually good enough to make it in pro tennis?

Credit where credit is due. And in this case, there is little doubt that the mother's actions raise some eyebrows. GAWD I hate people, sometimes.

But im guessing that if it was a grown man having sex with a 13 year old girl...or boy for that matter, you would be screaming pedophile at the top of your lungs.
This is not funny. Its disgusting.
