  • Jose Galvan-Alcala

Jose Galvan-AlcalaJose Galvan-Alcala would make a good used-car salesman, or possibly a great door-to-door encyclopedia salesman.

    Yes, he’s that persistent.

Back on the 9th of October, 2007, a 13-year-old girl who lived in South Odgen, Utah, tried to send a text message to another teenage friend of hers. She mis-dialed her friend’s number and through sheer chance, the text message went to Mr. Jose Galvan-Alcala.

Jose, who undoubtedly lifted his eyes to heaven and thanked whatever heathen gods he prays to for this sign of their favor, took this opportunity to start a conversation with the 13-year-old girl. Jose began to steer the conversation in a sexual direction. The girl tried to give the 29-year-old man a few hints that what he was doing was wrong, but that just further stirred the pervert nestled not-so-deeply in Jose Galvan-Alcala psyche.

    What’d the girl think? “Gross.”

Things came to a head when the girl’s mother noticed how many messages her daughter was getting. Evidently the girl’s cell phone was going off like crazy and, while this isn’t unusual for most of the girls I’ve heard about, it was unusual for this girl. The mother looked at some of the messages her daughter was receiving from Jose Galvan-Alcala and didn’t like what she saw.

The mother took her daughter’s cell phone to the police, who had a detective pose as the 13-year-old girl and continue the conversation with Jose. Over the next three days, the detective and the pervert texted messages to each other, back and forth.

It quickly became apparent that Jose Galvan-Alcala was trying to groom the 13-year-old into a sexual relationship. He kept asking her to meet him, asking the girl to tell him what she was wearing and what she liked to do sexually.

The detective, after gathering enough incriminating evidence via the text messages, set up a meeting for Mr. Galvan-Alcala. While Chris Hansen wasn’t there, I’m sure it was a fun encounter for everyone involved except for Jose.

Jose Galvan-Alcala was arrested and charged with solicitation of a child, which happens to be a second-degree felony.

    Does Jose Galvan-Alcala deserve Hell?

this one does have me slightly worried, was this guy only acting on the one chance he got, or had he done this before?
