Everyone and their mother has been bothered by telemarketers at some time or another. Telemarketers are one rung on the ladder below spammers. Spam can usually be caught with the right software, but it’s hard to stop spam phone calls.
For a while, the best we could come up with is a Do-Not-Call list. That list informs telemarketers who has opted-out of marketing phone calls. Unless the company making the call has a previous business relationship with you, or if the company making the phone call is a charity, if you’re on that Do-Not-Call list, you probably won’t get a lot of telemarketers calling you.
And that was good!
Until now.
Now, you just might want to reconsider putting your phone number back on the Do-Not-Call registry.
Brring.com has devised a way for people to get paid for taking phone calls.
Now you’re not going to get paid very much, as the most you can earn is $1 per call, but if we apply some creative marketing principles to the concept let’s see if we can’t maximize our income.
1) Go to brring.com and create a free account with your real phone number.
2) Pick out a new phone number. This is a phone number that if people call, they hear a short 10-second advertisement. Once they hear that ad, the phone call is forwarded to your real phone number, which remains secret.
3) Every time someone calls that Brring phone number, you get paid.
Ok, so you don’t want your friends to hear ads when they call you - that’s fine. Just give them your real phone number.
But telemarketers and other people you don’t really know…why not make a buck whenever they bug you? Give them your Brring phone number!
Have to give your phone number to create an account for a website? Give them your Brring phone number.
Want to enter one of those contests at the mall where you fill out your name, address and phone number? Give them your Brring phone number
Going car shopping this weekend and don’t want to give out your real number to those annoying car salesmen? Give them your Brring phone number
All those calls will now make you money.
Have fun.

Seriously, it is. Hell, any idiot with a phone number can spam his info out into the internet, get the inevitable 100 phone calls a day and sit back and collect a happy little paycheck for doing nothing.
