  • Amon Paul Carlock Dies Of Natural Causes - Not

You may remember Amon Paul Carlock, the clown accused of acting on unnatural urges.

Well, he’s dead now. According to early reports, Amon Paul Carlock died from a pre-existing condition while being transported from the jail to the hospital.

Now it turns out that the initial report wasn’t exactly true, although you have to give props to whoever is doing public relations for that correctional institution.

The real story is that Mr. Carlock was refusing to get out of his cell and go with officers to get a checked out by the medical department. During a struggle with officers, Amon Paul Carlock was tased.

The tasing caused Amon Paul Carlock to change colors, which alerted the officers that something was wrong. As he was being transported to the hospital, Mr. Carlock died.

Prosecutors have announced that with Amon Paul Carlock’s death, the charges have been dropped and the case has been closed.

Check todays 11 17 07 SJ-R edition - he did not die of pre-existing conditions in jail - he died after a struggle with jailers after being tazed. He was resisting request to get into a restraint chair, etc.

You all are suckers for the media. Go to In cold blog and look at the last few entries there concerning this man. You may start to realize that there is more to this story than a perverted clown. Also, the authorities knew this man was to be on medication or would become combative. They didn’t give it to him, he become unwilling to be placed in a straight jacket so they killed him. Oh well, that’s the way it goes for the accused. Hope his family and friends don’t mind. A similar incident occured in Indiana this week..man arrested for making phone calls (no joke) was killed while being detained. Oh well, he probably wasn’t worth the oxygen either. Coming from a corrections background, I’ve realized that some people really don’t know how to behave in a correctional institution. You don’t get to have things your way. You don’t get to dictate how things will run. You don’t get what you want when you want it.

It seems like Gary Thompson acted badly enough to force badly trained officers to act according to their training. Hogtying shouldn’t be done for 5 hours, shouldn’t be done at all, really. There are other ways to restrain individuals without putting them in harms way. Institutional administrators need to do their jobs and research these methods.

In our institution, you can’t even leave an inmate in restraints of any kind without an officer physically present and observing the inmate constantly.
