It doesn’t get much worse than this.
Meet 30-year-old Clinton Smith.
Clinton Smith, who apparently is another one of those live-in boyfriends who enjoys staying at home while his girlfriend is out working, was watching two children on the 15th of November, 2007.
One of those children was his two-year-old son.
The other child was ten-month-old Da’Niyah Jackson, the daughter of Latoya Jackson, Clinton Smith’s girlfriend.
At 9:30 at night, after Latoya Jackson came back home from her waitressing job, she went to check on Da’Niyah, as most mothers would after a hard day at work away from their baby.
Da’Niyah, however, didn’t wake up when her mother came in. She didn’t wake up when her mother picked her up, either.
Latoya rushed to call 911 and summon emergency services, which arrived shortly thereafter and whisked the infant to the local Children’s Hospital.
Doctors checked out the little girl and discovered that Da’Niyah’s body was covered with bruises and that there was a bite mark on her chest.
Further examination showed that the 10-month-old baby had also been raped.
Police questioned Clinton Smith, who claimed that he had no idea what had happened to his girlfriend’s daughter, but admitted that he and his son were the only ones that had been in the residence that day.
Because most police aren’t completely stupid, Clinton Smith was arrested and charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.
Two days after being raped and beaten by Clinton Smith, Da’Niyah died.
According to the medical report, she died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen. I’m sure you can imagine how this happened.
Clinton Smith has now been charged with murder. He will probably die from a lethal cocktail of drugs pushed into his bloodstream.
You can be sure his death will take less than two days.
Too bad.

There’s been some question of whether the charges against Clinton Smith have been dropped. I checked the Pennsylvania Common Pleas Criminal Docket for his case and his case is still active. In other words, they have not been dropped.

Both weapons have been used in murders in this State by civilians with the ignoble titles of their news articles proclaiming the use of a 50 caliber weapon–when I see it I always assume someone has just brought some military grade hardware to the party. To most people, a 50 cal is a machine gun or bolt action sniper rifle. To pansies who think these guns are in any way better than a 306 for the rifle or a simple 44 for a pistol, they get to proudly announce that they “…have a 50 cal” and aren’t afraid to use it.
In most states, however, the sale of firearms is tracked… And some states prohibit the ownership of the Desert Eagle. So it is also possible that he/she/it lives in a states where it was tracked or prohibited and may or may not have it illegally. I think it is highly unlikely, however that common civilians are capable of handling such a high-powered weapon. The 50 cal I trained with in Fort Stewart knocked me on my ass and I’m trained to use it!
I’m an amateur, you’re a pro, and I agree. The 50 cal I shot was too powerful for me to aim successfully without bracing on the stand, and I never even hit the target. The same gun with a different barrel and a 44 magazine was actually MUCH easier to fire (and the bullets weren’t 2.50 a piece either). Of the guns I shot then and earlier in my life, nothing was as accurate as the simple 9mm that was point, shoot, fire, and if power is accuracy and raw power, the 44 was plenty.
To own a 50 cal pistol here, you have to get your county Sheriff or another law enforcement “official” to sign a permit that’s submitted to the Federal registrar at the nearest ATF. The black powder weapon requires basically nothing more than a few hundred dollars and a willing seller.
The black powder, if anything, has more of a kickback than the other versions of the 50 cal. There is a bigger explosion within the firearm, as the powder is the propellant that forces the projectile through the barrel. In most modern long guns, the blasting cap contains the powder, a smaller amount (most of the time) than a black powder weapon.
With a black powder weapon, you put the powder in yourself, with the wadding and the projectile. If you are not careful to put in the EXACT amount, be prepared to be knocked not only on your ass, but also about 3 or 4 feet back or to have a “pop, no fire” (a situation where the propellant make the bang, but not with enough force to send the projectile out of the barrel). And be prepared for a shattered shoulder. I knew a kid once who destroyed his shoulder with a 12 gauge black powder rifle. He had to have reconstructive surgery and is still unable to raise his left arm to shoulder level…
And I prefer the thirty ought six myself. That firearm is a beast!

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that there is a difference between the size of a child’s private parts, and an adults. And that if there was some kind of crossover, the child would be physically in danger or be killed from that sexual assault.

If you have any theories, please share them so that we may be able to consider alternate possibilities. All we have to consider at this time are the details as they have been released in the media and those details make Mr. Smith look bad and that’s an understatement.

While it is understandable that we all make misjudgements of charater from time to time, when it comes to our children, the misjudgement could end up with your child dead, raped, beaten or molested.

Da’Niyah was a precious little baby girl less than a year old. Left in the care of this mad man. This POS admitted to “playing with” the child and also placing his hand on her chest and pressing down with his full body weight. ( He also reportedly told investigators his son caused some of the girl’s injuries.)
The autopsy report revealed they found prostate fluid in the baby and she suffered punctured intestines and other internal injuries. Given the baby’s injuries, police said Mr. Smith did more than just squeeze her, and also struck her in some way.
It was also reported that one of his ex-girlfriends took out a “protection from abuse” order against him last summer after he assaulted her and their young daughter. Despite that, one year later he was living with the Jacksons. He had two protection from abuse orders filed against him in 2002 and 2006
He only saw his real son one time , the mother said this about him :
“Let me say first that I have a biological child to this monster. Let me also say that he has never known my son and never will b/c when I took him to visit him when he was a baby, my child began screaming as soon as Clinton walked into the room. When I asked why, he replied, “All children react to me like that b/c I’m satan.” Never saw my baby (who will be 7 this christmas) again. “

I’m so tired of stories like this:-( I can’t imagine what that poor child went thru. My daughter just turned 10 months today and I would TORTURE and KILL anyone who hurt her (or my son for that matter). I have some friends who are single mothers and they seem like they are headed down this path. They just aren’t careful and I’ve tried to warn them, but they just think i’m paranoid for thinking like that.
Some women just never learn Lena. I work with abused women and it just frustrates the hell outta me that they keep going back time and time again. They risk not just their own saftely, but also that of their children.
Sometimes i hear the words coming outta their mouths, like, ‘ but i love him.’ or ‘ but he is a good man.’ or ‘but where will i go?’
and i honestly just wanna shake some sense into them. But its pointless. They all seem to reach theri breaking point sooner or later. Usually later. But until then, nothing you say or do gets through to them.
I was just talking about this kind of thing on the Gary Bell post. Amy, I can’t imagine how frustrating your work must be, seeing those women go back over and over again. I know you have been through it, and have a lot more insight on the subject than I do, but I feel like I would be screaming at these women to stop asking for help if they are just going to keep going back! Thank you for updating me on this case. I have been keeping tabs on it ever since I first heard of it. Two points: 1, Our justice system is so screwed that it takes two years to get this to trial. Forget everything else that is wrong with this country, forget social security, forget health crisis, forget the flippin economy… THIS is our biggest problem. Two years of wasted money, two years of no justice. Justice delayed is justice denied, and that little girl has been denied justice. 2, I am almost sad that the rumor of him being out is untrue, because I would love to track that MF down and beat him like Joe Pesci at the end of Casino. Also, mother is God in the eyes of a child, and what a worthless mother she turned out to be. I hope there is something wonderful waiting for that child on the other side.

as i sit here in amazement at this story, (which like everyone on here) some are worse than others, but this one just wont leave my head, who does that? i mean really?? and as for the idiot who is defending ‘it’ (dont even wanna know/remember his name) and i think there was another ‘it’ who had something to say…go sit in a hospital room where there are abused children as young as 1 and tell this blog that you still support the piece of shit…i just cant help but believe that ( i think it was amy’s) message on a dif subject where the guy who raped a child had a steal pipe with barbed wire around shoved up his ass worked a treat is what is so rightly deserved to this piece of shit
