    Alejandro Caso

Alejandro CasoWhen you eat at a Denny’s you go for the convenience.

You don’t go for great food. You don’t go for the atmosphere.

You don’t go to see waitresses stabbed to death by their boyfriends either.

That’s just what tourists got to see on the second of September, 2007, however.

47-year-old Cuban national Alejandro Caso walked into the restaurant where his 41-year-old wife, Deborah Caso, was working as a waitress.

Approaching his wife, who had recently gotten a restraining order against him, he whipped out a steak knife and stabbed her over and over in the neck and chest while dozens of tourists and their children watched with wide eyes and open mouths.

At that point, what else can you say but, “Check please!”

Other Denny’s employees, seeing one of their own was being killed, chased Alejandro Caso out of the restaurant and into the street, where the speedy lil guy lost his knife, his shoe and his pursuers.

Police responded quickly and established a perimeter around the area, but Alejandro Caso managed to slip through and get away.

Alejandro managed to avoid capture until the 15th of November, when he was caught by border patrol agents in Hidalgo, Texas.

Alejandro Caso, who was apparently trying to leave the country, was seen by the agents while he was hiding in brush by a river.

After a lengthy chat, during which Alejandro claimed to be a Puerto Rican, authorities managed to run his fingerprints through the system and found he was wanted in Florida.

After being extradited back to Florida, Alejandro Caso will appear in court with what you’d think would be a rather easy-to-prove murder charge.

and to think he looks so friendly.
What happened to the days where you easilly tell who was a criminal, these days even nice people commit crimes.
      What’s the world coming to?
      arg!

In years past, I’ve been lucky enough to be at a Denny’s right BEFORE a wacko gang fight in the parking lot.

In Santa Barbara, about 20 years ago, my ex and I paid (at our request anonymously) for a homeless woman’s meal. She’d been sent to SB by her family because supposedly the weather was more palatable than Washington. If you are homeless, or mentally ill, both of which she was. Instead, the manager from Denny’s called the cops on her (even though we’d paid for her meal), and those lovely cops forced her to THANK us in front of the whole restaurant (if it can be called that) before they dragged her off to jail.

Santa Barbara…. the lovely town where restaurants pour bleach into their dumptsters to discourage homeless people from trying to salvage their garbage… because somehow at 4am those homeless people will affect negatively on your fine dining experience.

Denny’s- the place where, the day I came back to my hometown, I was befriended by a one-armed vet on a motorcycle. Who followed me home and was only encouraged to leave my doorstep because my pit/whippet dog went ballistic.

The place where my youngest boy, who was at the time about a year old, ate some applesauce and then proceeded to violently barf down my cleavage, with said barf ending up down as far as my crotch.

The same Denny’s where my children saw people standing on their tables, freaked out, because there was a little mouse trying desperately to get out of the booths… yelling KILL it, KILL it?

Denny’s- the restaurant that was successfully sued for refusing to serve ‘blacks’ after a certain nighttime hour?

      Denny’s… oh, the memories.

      Stabbings?
That was not on the menu. How come they get to order that, but we can’t?

Oh, and did I forget to mention….?
Am I the only one who thinks that this POS looks like a deranged, illegal alien version of Robin Williams?

      Weird.

My parents took us to Denny’s back in the early 1980′s.

      My mother ordered a salad.

It had a cockroach in it.

That was the last time my mother ever ate at a Denny’s.

    5. admin says:

Glorybug, I can’t believe I didn’t think that line up: “Stabbings – they’re not on the menu.”

      Nice!

i don’t know where else to put it, so i’ll just slap it in a reply here. how about making a user submission section? i just came across this article http://www.bangkokpost.com/breaking_news/breakingnews.php?id=124195
Dutch Peadophile cought in Thailand. Surely a child molester should get a vote here?

    7. Angrier Citizen says:

Did he think that if he stabbed her in Denny’s that no one would see him? People don’t get that caught up in eating their grand slams. I have never been to Denny’s, but it sounds like a fun place. A pysih Chuck E. Cheese.

    8. Brittany says:

Denny’s is only good for ditching class at. I used to go there all the time and do drugs in the bathroom when i was in high school. It’s Denny’s. You can pull it off there.

    9. Michelle says:

I never did like Denny’s much. Now I know why.

    10. GloryBug says:

      Exactly my point.

Are we supposed to be surprise that something happened at a Denny’s?

    11. Lewbell says:

Does anyone else think that it’s funny that he was an illegal that was caught trying to cross the border into Mexico instead of the other way around. I myself find this to be absolutely hilarious.

    12. AgJu says:

Yeah as mentioned above, my first thought was, “He kinda looks like Robin Williams…”

If they make a movie of this guy’s life, Robin could play the part. Can you imagine him launching into those myriad impressions before offing a guy as Mrs. Doubtfire and teaching us all a lesson in life and laughter as Patch Adams?

Or not. People who murder someone right in the middle of a restaurant are just begging to be captured. Idiot.

    13. Rebecca says:

Deborah Caso is my mother and I dont know why it seems like everytime I stubble upon one of these websites everybody has something to say. All that I ask is that you leave her name out of it I dont care about him. My mother was a good person and doesnt deserve to be made fun of by strangers. The situation my family is in is far from funny or something to talk about. I have to explain this to my little sister who was 9 when this happened later on in life.

So please I respectfully ask that you just browse through this webpage and not add any comments. thanks!

    14. Mulch says:

Rebecca I read throughthe comments and the article. No one posted anything against your mother.

I have been here posting on and off for a few years now. I can not remember a single time where someone made a bad comment about a victim. I never have and I never will.

I am truely sorry about your mother. I can only pray that you and your family find the strength needed to come to terms with with horriable crime.

      • Rebecca says:

So I’m sure that you all have gotten the update? Well if you haven’t he is doing 30 years somewhere in FL. By the time he gets out he will be in his mid 70′s.

        Thanks for your prayers,
Family is doing better both kids are on the honor roll, I am now entering my junior year at a really good college and keeping myself terribly busy with work and school. Its still tough but I have an amazing support team :-)

        • Rebecca says:

I’m just so dissappointed in the whole process. They told her that she was wrong for fleeing the scene when they used to get into there fights. What was she supposed to do? Then they said she needed to file a restraining order against him. I can’t tell you how many of those hearings I had to sit through. What they failed to notice is that you cant file a restraining order if the suspect cant be server his/her notice. Now when I go to file for fafsa every school year I have to send in news clippings and a death certificate to prove that I am an independant student. It’s so flawed.
