Meet Victoria Klein.
Victoria Klein has had a hard life, the lines of which have been indelibly etched on her face.
As you can imagine, she’s been arrested a number of times. Nothing really bad, just charges dealing with writing bad checks and minor drug charges.
Victoria Klein likes her heroin.
She’s been trying to quit though, most recently living at a rehab center in Jacksonville, Florida, trying to kick the habit.
Her 1-month-old baby was living with her at the rehab center, which makes for a nice Christmas-y scene this time of year.
Yes, it was starting to look a lot like Christmas – until Victoria Klein’s baby was rushed to the emergency room with a skull fracture and in full cardiac arrest on the 10th of December, 2007.
Doctors managed to save the baby, ran a whole slew of tests on the infant and found – ta-da! – methadone in his urine.
Nobody knows how methadone got into the baby’s system, or exactly what fractured the baby’s skull.
Not the doctors, not the cops, not the rehab center employees.
Well, that’s not entirely accurate, I suppose, because one person does know how the methadone got into the baby’s system – Victoria Klein.
Klein, after all, admitted to police that she was the only person with the baby in the hours before the infant was rushed to the emergency room.
She’s not being “cooperative” with police, however.
Imagine that.

well i know her too. i know her family and she was like my godmother, i always used to be at her house, my mom worked for her. its sad to see this happen because when i heard about it i was in disbelief.she has been through so much and im constantly praying for her, and no she does not deserve to go to hell so anybody who says that needs to get a life
Well, put me down for one life then I guess, cuz your faux Godmother is working really hard on a reservation to the Nether Regions. Loyalty is an admirable thing kid, but you should probably learn to be a lot more selective about who you apply your loyalty to, because it appears to be wasted on Vicky. I can see you have a soft heart, which makes you a prime target to be taken advantage of by junkies, which, face it, Victoria is. The best thing you can do for her is to wash your hands of her, and cut off all contact with her. Prayer is fine, but anything more and you might as well be buying her the drugs. Most addicts, and this was true for me also, don’t decide to get better until they lose everything and everyone. It’s only then that people become willing to make the drastic changed to their lives that they need to make in order to stay clean and sober. Take it from someone who’s been there, it’s a hard road, but it’s being done every day by all kinds of people. Hang in there…..
Beautifully put Mazzi….I think your brand of tough love is just what Lala needs. She’s obviously just a young pup without much experience in the real world, and if she doesn’t learn quick, she’ll be a victim herself before she knows it.
Try praying for her baby…my bet is that the kid needs it more than she does.
EXACTLY! But that clearly illustrates the ignorance of some people.
Lala knew her, but obviously did not know her 1-month old baby. Simply knowing this woman and not having any personal beef with her makes her above reproach in Lala’s eyes. But the baby – the VICTIM – gets no sympathy or support because Lala didn’t actually know the baby.
The sad part is that these people have no clue how selfish and ignorant they are.
Lala – try this little exercise. Think about the baby. Pretend like you didn’t know the mother. See how easy that is? All of a sudden, you realize that the mother is a horrible, dangerous, neglectful or abusive person.
Take Amy’s advice – pray for the baby, and pray that this baby is allowed to go to a home where it will be loved and nurtured, and if you must pray for Victoria, pray that Victoria gets her uterus ripped out.

Was she breast-feeding the baby ? Could explain how the methadone got into the baby’s system. Another candidate for the Bad Mom Award for 2007.

I am about 80 percent on this one….U cant trust a pill popper…I have seen it…Mothers with children…. drugs = neglect and abuse!

Maybe the baby’s head was fractured while attempting to ‘latch on’ during breastfeeding?
Maybe because he was already an addict, thanks to ‘Mommy Dearest’ during her pregnancy, he was frantically trying to get his next ‘hit’ from said mommy’s breastmilk?
Or maybe the poor baby tripped and fell on his crawl to the Bahamas to raid Anna Nicole Smith’s mini-fridge?

what if while breastfeeding and getting it’s high, the “mom” fell asleep and dropped the baby on it’s head. Then rolled over it with a rocking chair? Who knows.
I’d like to correct Kristina….she was a heroine addict, not necessarily a pill popper but she did however get her fix through pills. It’s not that you can’t trust a pill popper; you really can’t trust a junkie of any kind.

She used to be my friend, a pretty woman, clean & a go-getter. Yes Pills took her life 1st minor pain pills, then oxy, then who knows. She lost all her friends (some went with her in fatal followings) for the choices the drugs cause her to become. I am so very sad for this woman. The baby, I am positive was already an addict (it is already in his DNA). So he I hope is in a better place from the world she would have offered him.

It wasn’t the pills that made her do anything. Pills are not sentient and they do not make choices. People do.

I just don’t understand how clinics and (I think) some prisons give out methadone to the heroine addicts. It’s like they’re feeding their addiction and making it legal. I don’t understand how they expect these people to get any better if they’re just hand feeding them this shit.

well it is heroine. they just don’t want the people freaking out if they can’t get their fix. the whole withdrawl thing makes people WAY crazy.
I don’t understand how a rehab center left her alone, unmonitored, with an infant. Aren’t they supposed to be the experts in understanding that addicts are untrustworthy and unpredictable?
She admits that she was the only one with the baby in the hours before the hospitalization and then won’t cooperate with the cops? Looking kinda guilty there….Idiot.
Im glad there are some people out here that care about the important things, and even if this only is a website where we can call these bastards names, Ive been coming here for about a week now, Max the Cat, you sound like a caring man, Vbecky you have words to say, at least someone cares though…
