  • Sean Nelson

Sometimes justice comes a little too late, like in the case of 22-year-old Sean Nelson.

Sean Nelson, his 20-year-old brother, Derrick Nelson, and 20-year-old Helen McKonnen, all piled into a black Honda at about 4 in the morning and drove to a neighbor’s house - which was about half a block away from the Nelson residence.

In that house lived the Gonzalez family, which consisted of 17-year-old Ana Christina Gonzalez, her 1-year-old son, her father and her two brothers, one of which was 16 and the other 20.

Well, Sean Nelson had a shotgun and wanted some of the stuff that was in Gonzalez family’s house, including a video game system. Probably an Xbox 360.

So, because he wanted this stuff, Sean Nelson walked into the Gonzalez’s house at about 4:30 in the morning, pointed his shotgun at Ana Christina Gonzalez and her brother, Jose, and demanded that they load the stuff that he wanted into the car that was waiting outside.

After making two trips to the car, someone made a wrong move somewhere and Sean Nelson pulled the trigger of his shotgun, which discharged and killed Ana Christina.

This upset the rest of the Gonzalez family. It upset them a great deal.

Considering that the 1-year-old was now without a mother, because of an act by an idiot who wanted stuff, it’s not hard to understand why.

The Gonzalez family was so upset, that the 16-year-old brother and the 20-year-old brother of Ana Gonzalez beat Sean Nelson to death in their living room.

According to the Contra Costa County coroner, Sean Nelson died as a result of blows to the head and from being strangled.

Derrick Nelson and Helen McKonnen, who were waiting in the car this entire time, were surprised by police cruisers rolling up behind them.

They were arrested, questioned, and will probably be charged with robbery, burglary and murder.

Ana Christina’s brothers will probably not be charged, according to Lieutenant Andrew Gartner of the Concord Police Department, who also stated:

There was certainly an element of justification.

Sean Nelson’s father, who happens to be in the preaching business, is said to be devastated that a dispute about material possessions resulted in the deaths of two people.

I’m sure People You’ll See In Hell readers would disagree with that stance, and insist that there was only one person’s death that was devastating - Ana Christina’s.

    Sean Nelson’s death was well-deserved.

This is a tough one. Not whether Sean will go to hell — obviously he was a scumbag — but whether it was right for Ana’s family to kill him. If I were in their place I might have done the same thing, but I think the law says you’re only allowed to hurt someone in self-defense. Once Sean was disarmed and unconscious and/or incapacitated, they were supposed to stop hitting him and call the cops to have him hauled off to jail and spend the rest of his life in prison. I suppose I don’t blame them for getting carried away, but it’s a fine line. Suppose Ana’s brothers had followed Sean back home and killed him there? Would that have been okay too?

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that their best hope, if they went and followed Sean Nelson home and killed him there, would be for jury nullification.

Although I’ve seen cases where two officers are “restraining” an offender, and the punches of one officer cause the offender to move in such a way as to be interpreted as resisting by the other officer, who then responds in a similar manner as the first. Then it’s just a chain reaction that results in the offender being converted into a fine red paste.

That could have been what happened in the Gonzalez living room.

Just my hunch but it was probably hard for them to think rationally considering they just watched their sister get blown away with a shotgun. Plus, even if the suspect is disarmed, doesn’t make him any less dangerous. In their shoes, I would have done the same thing to make sure the suspect was down and my family safe. If it kills him or her in the process, so be it.

the little shit got what he deserved…there are a lot of things I want but I don’t go out and steal them…I go without or I work my ass off to get the things I want.

I agree, this guy got what he deserved. It’s too bad his accomplices didn’t get a share of it. I feel no pity for these people whatsoever, as with IPattyKake, if I can’t afford it, I do without- and I hope these people do without any freedom for a very long time.

“Once Sean was disarmed and unconscious and/or incapacitated, they were supposed to stop hitting him and call the cops to have him hauled off to jail and spend the rest of his life in prison.”

Unless the POS was lucky enough to live in a DP state.

And, it’s very likely that the POS was disarmed/unconscious/incapacitated and DEAD within a few seconds, like he hopefully would be if he’d shown up at my house. Why would anyone think that after having seen your sister/daughter murdered, leaving a baby behind, that anyone would take a LONG time beating them to death? My guess is that it would only take a minute or two, at most. And, that is reasonable. Why in the world would some POS deserve life in prison, when he did not step back and let this mother/sister/daughter live? You assume it only took a split-second to blast her life away, but the truth is, that she could have lived longer after being shot than the POS did after being ‘beaten’.

And, the POS had a good reason to be dead, whereas the girl did not.

No doubt Glory! I’m not a big fan of vigilante justice (outside of the confines of my imagination, that is), but it seems to me that this situation is the epitome of karma. How about this, if you don’t want to be beaten to death, how about not breaking into someone’s home, taking hostages, robbing them blind, and murdering their sister/daughter/mother. I think that’s fair. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that if you are “man” enough to do all of the above, you’re “man” enough to get the living daylights beaten out of you-literally. Since this was a preacher’s kid and his victims were 3 generations of a family living together, I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that this kid lived much better than did this family. So, forgive me for not having sympathy for this kid and the grisly end he met.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I have no sympathy for Sean Nelson either. He deserved what he got. I’m just not entirely comfortable with the idea of the brothers basically taking the law into their own hands.

ok as we’ve ALL seen there are plenty of cases on this site where justice is NOT served. Like fuck head POS’ getting off easy or getting really tiny sentences. this, as we’ve seen before, would probably be one of those disfunctional cases.

that being said, definitely the descision that was “thought” out by Ana’s brothers is strictly the definition of justice. That’s all it is, justice.

I just hope that if Ana’s death wasn’t instant that her body when into shock like “it’s suppose” to do when one is shot (at least that’s what I’ve heard) and from that point I hope that Sean’s death was tortorous and painful and really by any account that it’s inflicted by bare hands it probably was.

Even though kharma and justice kicked his ass he doesn’t have to live with the guilt that by no doubt would’ve eventually caught up to him. Ana’s son has to live without a mother as well as everyone else living without her.

I’m saddened by the fact that she had so much life to live and doesn’t get to. As far as Sean, he was already dead inside.

      Admin,
Was there any connection between Sean and the Gonzales family or was it just a random house they went to? Do you know?

I read in some news articles that members of his family knew members of the Gonzales family but it’s not clear whether Sean himself knew the victims. Also they lived on the same block, or street, or something.

I was just wondering if it went deeper than an “x-box” even though it’s still no excuse.

I’m a huge fan of vigilante justice. I suppose it’s all the Batman. I don’t think vigilante justice is the thing for every crime, but if you kill someone or torture a baby or something similar, I hope someone gets a hold of you and cuts your balls/tits off. Yes, the bastard got what was coming to him.

Wow, thats f*ckn great that they went vigilante on that piece of shit. If I was in their shoes, I would have done the same in a heart beat… this kid thought he was tough, but you see what happened as soon as his gun (balls) was gone?? he got STOMPEDDDDD OUUTTTT!! I feel for the family though, as a baby is without its mother now…atleast the brothers made sure justice was served.. as for the other two “shoulda-been abortions”, I hope they rot in prison ….

In NH it’s perfectly legal to kill someone that enters your house or domicile with the intent to hurt or kill you. It’s also very possible that the scumbag was killed whilst he was being restrained. Personally if I was in such a situation I would torture the fucker before killing him

I would have done the same thing if I had just seen my sister get blown away. There is no DA that would risk career sucide by charging these brothers

Sorry, Meaghan, but I would have done the same thing. I would have beat that man to death.
That is exactly what the head of a household, man of the house should do.
You protect yours, and if you can not do that, you get the POS that killed yours.

RIP Ana Christina. Her brothers should get a medal and a parade. Nothing will bring their sister back, but this freak won’t hurt anyone again, either.

I hope his little helpers learned a thing or two as well.
