Everyone is so filled with emotion that they can't think rationally. Hatred can poison the heart and mind. You don't know the intent of a persons heart or are you God? She would have grumbled about growing older. She would have hugged her growing children, her growing family. I almost forgot the date, had Dan not IM'd me last night. It shocked me. It chilled me to the very bone, as it should chill those who'd drink and drive. There's a somewhat poppy song going around on the top 40 stations. It's key line, I feel, "the sharp knife of a short life," does a bit of justice for this moment. Some days I am haunted by ghosts, others I simply miss my lost friends so much that I wish I truly believed in ghosts. Yesterday, Bethany would have turned 40.

I cannot believe the people trying to defend this MURDERER. HE chose to drink himself stupid and get behind the wheel of a truck. HIS choice stole the lives of almost an entire family. I'm sure he knows drunk driving is illegal, and I doubt this is the first time he's gotten plastered. If my father did this, I would most certainly think he deserves prison. It would break my heart, and I would hate it every day of my life, but I would not make excuses for him. Fortunately, as much of a selfish jerk as my dad has been for most of his life, he would NEVER be able to forgive himself if he killed a bunch of children, and he would admit he deserves prison. This is not just a mistake or an accident. He made choices that he KNEW were wrong, and as a result, innocent people died a grisly death. It is indefensible.
