It's no problem at all Becky - I wasn't even aware you complained about it when I made my comment (not that it would have mattered). Don't you know you're my friend? - You're one of the people on this blog that I care a great deal for and I couldn't get mad at you if I tried. I just hate the mess it makes when I delete a comment like that. Fortunately I still had Steve's stored in the Spam folder, so I restored it and everything looks fine now.

Please don't think I was complaining at you in any way, Max. The Flying Spaghetti Monster knows how hard you work on this site, but the rest of us can only imagine.

My sox. You rock them. Thank you for your work on PYSIH.

Shit! next time I'll just remove the text - I've been doing that lately but I forgot to this time. It helps if people assume I'm going to remove any comment Steve makes from now on and not reply to them - start a new thread instead. He's been banned but he's using a proxy server to get around that.

So not only is he a liar, but he's graduated from Internet crazy to cyberstalker too.

Ach. I had a feeling it was something like that, because this sort of post displacement always seems to occur if a post is removed. I just didn't know the technical(ish) reason for it.

I certainly don't blame you for not wanting to help fix it, nor do I blame Mr. The Cat. I've worked with computer virus removal, etc. so I understand how obstinate computers can be. It IS brain surgery.

Thanks Jason! :)

Comment deletions in WordPress are buggy.

Imagine for a moment you have the following Comments

A
B
C
D

deleting D,C, B, or A does nothing special, everything is fine

A
  a.
     1.
     2.
        i.
        ii.
        iii.
        iv.
  b
      1.
          i.
          ii.
       2.
           i.
B. (same as A)
C. (same as B)
D. (same as C) but now D has been deleted, leaving only the orphans
E added after the deletions occur
F. a reply to D, initiated before deletion, but completed only after D was completed.

Each post is a sequential post that has a parent child relationship. Delete the parent, and suddenly they begin to revert back to an order by the time in which they were added.
Those without a relationship to any post or the base post, because their parent is gone, now order to the end. Those added to posts with no parent, lose some of their relationship, because the parent of the parent is orphaned.

Messy, messy bug on wordpress's part, but I am loathe to help them fix it.

I just sent an email to that link. Thanks, Jason!

My post is awaiting moderation because of internet links. It looks like it's going to be posted near the other letter I sent, rather than down here where I tried to post it. PYSIH is being weird.
