  • Kyle Bormann

Kyle Bormann19-year-old Kyle Bormann is a perfectly well-adjusted, normal, quiet Midwestern kid.

Originally from Dell Rapids, South Dakota, Kyle Bormann was nearly a straight-A student who nobody had any bad feelings about. Kyle Bormann spent three and a half years at Dell Rapids High School before transferring to Wessington Springs High School (also in South Dakota) in the middle of his senior year.

Not widely known was that Kyle Bormann had been charged with a few crimes back home. According to our criminal background check, South Dakota criminal records show that Kyle Bormann has been charged with crimes ranging from traffic violations to minor in possession to drug possession, although the drug possession charge was reduced.

Kyle Bormann was sentenced in Brookings County in July of 2007 after he pled guilty to a charge of ingesting intoxicants. According to reports, an officer patrolling near a motel in the area spotted Kyle Bormann “acting suspiciously” and when the officer tried to talk to Kyle to find out what was going on, Kyle ran off.

Kyle Bormann didn’t run fast enough, because the officer caught up to him and immediately smelled alcohol on Bormann, along with the distinct stench of marijuana.

One of the conditions of Kyle Bormann’s sentencing was that he had to stay out of trouble with the law until July of 2008.

    Sadly, he didn’t.

Brittany WilliamsThis is 21-year-old Brittany Williams, a student at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, studying to become a nurse. She was attending UNO with the assistance of a scholarship that is awarded to students who display exceptional promise but who aren’t on the best financial footing.

    She was a good person.

On the 20th of January, 2008 at about 8:40 in the evening, Brittany Williams was at the Kentucky Fried Chicken-Long John Silver’s Seafood combination restaurant in Southeast Omaha - a predominantly African-American part of town.

At that moment, Kyle Bormann was between 100 and 200 yards away, sitting in his car, a white 1996 Chrysler Sebring. Kyle Bormann was dressed in hunter’s camouflage fatigues and had with him his pride and joy, a Winchester model 670a rifle, chambered for a .243 cartridge, complete with a hunting scope. Kyle Bormann was an avid hunter, much like Robert Hawkins, another guy in Omaha with a gun and an attitude. Frankly, it’s looking like there is more and more reason for people who live in Omaha to get a criminal background check on their friends and neighbors, because Omaha’s not coming across as all that stable recently.

Kyle Bormann chose that time to pull the trigger of his rifle, which discharged and sent a bullet into Brittany Williams’s body. Brittany Williams responded to the shot much like the deer that Kyle Bormann hunted on a regular basis, falling to the ground and dying before paramedics could arrive.

Police arrived on the scene shortly, as that part of Omaha is usually crawling with cops who are experienced with the gunfire that regularly erupts in North Omaha.

For some reason, Kyle Bormann didn’t leave the area after killing his prey. He stuck around until the police had put up crime-scene tape. Once that was up, Kyle Bormann hit the gas and drove through the tape, off into the night.

The police followed, of course, and after a short chase which ended with Kyle Bormann running from the Sebring, throwing down his rifle, and trying to hide from his pursuers.

    Didn’t work.

NDPYSIH125—125So, to sum up the evidence against Kyle Bormann: he was arrested in full hunter’s regalia, with a rifle that matched the bullet fired into Brittany Williams, after driving through the crime-scene tape and leading officers on a short chase.

How much more evidence do you need, really?

Kyle Bormann has been charged with first-degree murder.

Authorities are still investigating why Kyle Bormann did it, but suspect there was a possible racial motive.

Kyle Bormann’s family has issued a statement that is sensitive and understanding and will hopefully avoid embarrassing themselves on the People You’ll See In Hell comment threads, unlike someone else’s family.

On behalf of the entire Bormann family, we would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Brittany Williams,” an e-mail to the station said. “We do not understand why this happened, as we are still trying to figure it out for ourselves. We would also like to extend our sincerest apologies and regrets. We understand that there are absolutely no words that can change what happened in this tragic event and would like Brittany’s family to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers every hour of every day.

    Does Kyle Bormann deserve Hell?

I also find it ridiculous that as of this moment 10 people have voted against this kid going to hell. 10 people think his life is worth more than that poor woman he killed, a woman who was actually going to school to better herself and help people. I hope the 10 of you, whoever you are, rot in hell with that little POS.

as a straight A student, he’s obviously not stupid, which makes the question “why” all the more intruiging. this case is all the more sadder because the victim was someone who didn’t have an easy trip getting to where she was, but was clearly a shining star that would’ve gone far in life. If race was indeed the reason, i hope they throw this kid in a predominantly black prison, i’m sure they’ll know what to do with him.

      But he’s such a great guy… and we’ve been pen-pal-ing.

And, I’m pregnant with his kid (or maybe it’s my uncle’s, but whatever).

And, he doesn’t always look as icky as in his mugshot. He only looks like that when he cums. And I should know, cuz I’m his sister/mother/cousin etc.

Oh, BTW, I’m pregnant. And the babydaddy is either my mother, my aunt, my nondaddy or his brother.. or bffvr

Well at least his family is no telling what a great guy he is. That’s a start. Too bad Michael Gagnon’s family does not havet he same grip on reality like this family does.

The randomness of this act puts everyone in danger.

If the state can not fry him, then I hope he is put in with the general population. I am sure a few deranged rapists and murders have more common sense on how to handle such a POS than our legal sysytem does!

Also can we send his defense atty to hell as well?

oh Glory. Glory, Glory, Glory. ha ha.
I think it’s great that his family made the statement that they did.

So when you have a kid whose expected to do great in life constantly and gets straight A’s and does good in school. Yadda yadda yadda, there’s obviously some kind of rebellion that exists. Maybe the dad was/is an alcoholic that beat him. Who knows? Something snapped that created this good guy gone bad’s criminal record and random shooting.

Unfortuneately these turn of events as well as the Robert Hawkins incident gives Omaha a not so great reputation. My question: is/was there any relationship between the two? friendship, internet planning? anything whatsoever???

I was pained and embarrased to have even have gone to the link. I’d ask that it be removed. Sincerely, Kdo

No realists just know that there will be no racism once the races cease to be physically dissimilar.

Luckily I’m American, which though I may appear white, I am in fact part Cherokee, part Scottish, part Irish, part German, part Russian, part Dutch, part African American, etc, etc, etc…..

My IQ puts me in the top 1%, my height and physical descriptions also fairly high. My income is higher than the average racist of any creed.

      Is it because of genetics?

No, primarily it’s because of upbringing. It’s because of fellowship in ignorance of race, not in the defiance and separation of such. It’s education and a sense of accomplishment in my endeavors not those of race. Pride in species, not in the demonizations of breed.

White supremacists had their time. They mushed everything up so badly the South still hasn’t completely recovered from their mishandling of it. Your failings were scientifically proven and your social order will continue to fail.

why does everything have to revolve around racism? I can’t stand it. I don’t care either way. I don’t even understand it.
My friend, he’s like my brother some days, will get a lap dance from this one girl. She’s not white. He’ll be all into it but as soon as I take her out on a date or go to a party with her (we work together) he starts giving me shit for it. He’s the one paying for her attention and it’s ok but I’m the one just hanging out with her and all of a sudden it’s not ok. I really don’t understand.

People need to get their heads out of their own asses and realize that we’re all the same species. Yes I understand some things that different races do is based on their race, but it doesn’t make them any less of a person. When someone rapes someone; when someone kills someone; when someone robs someone else of a level of life and happiness that’s when someone is less of a human not because of their skin color or the food they eat. It’s 2008 and people really need to start realizing this.

But I think it is very uneducated and meanful to talk about killing another human being and to start throwing racial comments out there. It just goes to show how small minded people can be. I hope that Kyle gets the right punishment and help that he needs. Locking someone up doesn’t fix the problem and harming him doesn’t either. My, what a detailed analysis. Only “Whites” can be “supremacists” of course. Yes, the civil war organised by bankers and then in the “60’s” jewish marxists from New York/Federal govt destroyed the South and it hasn’t yet recovered. True.

      “Your failings were scientifically proven”
      What were they? Name them.

“and your social order will continue to fail.”
Whose “social order”? White people’s social order? In America? The USA is famously run by jews (even many Europeans, Koreans and Japanese know this) not White Americans of European descent. Intelligent White people would not blindly support Israel or start wars in the middle-east for Israel’s benefit. Why would they?

Hmmm. A couple of people have now stated that ‘Kyle didn’t mean to do this’.

Weird. If he hadn’t had a gun, if the gun hadn’t have been loaded, if he hadn’t have pointed it, if he hadn’t have pulled the trigger. Lots of ‘ifs’. Problem is, he DID do it, and it was not an accident. I sometimes secretly point my finger at people I am angry at… if my finger suddenly went off and magically killed someone, you could say I hadn’t ‘meant’ to do it… being that fingers usually don’t have bullets in them and all that.

He shot someone, and then he stuck around to watch all the excitement. Not an accident. I don’t believe he picked his target by race. In fact, if he was not brought up racist, it’s likely that he picked his victim because he found her attractive, which many murderers do. Kill the cute people they never stand a chance with.

It’s not surprising to find a link to the perp liking hunting. It’s pretty much the same. See something really beautiful- so beautiful, yet it will never approach you, will run from you, and you can never ‘own’ it. So you do what any reasonable, sane person would do. Lock it in your sights and blow it away. Doesn’t look so pretty now, eh? I might not have gotten you, but now nobody else will, either.

Please. The culture of hunting is a logical progression from killing beautiful innocent things to, well- killing beautiful, innocent things. It should not surprise anyone that someone who enjoys killing and watching animals die would enjoy killing and watching a person die. Not much difference, y’know? All of us being animals and such.

Next time you don’t ‘mean to do anything’, leave your gun at home, k? Cuz that kind of blows the whole excusism thing.

No, racial integration through procreation. As more people ignore your brand of racism, the races will continue to naturally mingle. Did you know that they can fairly confirm that Cro-Magnon wasn’t killed off by Homo-Sapiens? Cro-Magnon interbred with Homo-Sapiens. Species can do it, why not breeds?

That’s right, we already have examples of that throughout society. There’s a fairly good chance that you are already a component of that matrix, having one or more ancestors of a subset that has now been globalized into a larger group. Your “White Power” isn’t seeded in some band of peoples that came out of the Caucus Mountains, they inter-bred with dozens of other racial subsets to produce a host of racial characteristics.

The absolute best analog is that we were all, already mutts before the concept of Eugenics was even considered. If we continue to breed based upon finding the most compatible, attractive, and socially advantageous mates, the Eugenic advancements of Race can be subsumed and set aside.

      Not genocide, but common advancement.

It might really mess with some people if they realized that the word Hell actually comes from Norse mythology. Early Christians used either the Jewish Sheol or the Greek Hades. In latin it’s Infernus or Inferno. Funny since Jews don’t believe Hell is a fiery place, but instead it’s an absent nothingness in torment because you are absent from God’s sight and thus know you are meaningless and tastes of ash.

Thank Dante for the final elucidation of Hell as many layers of torment.

The final etymology of Hel is from the proto-Germanic word Khalija which means to cover oneself to hide things. Literally, to be buried.

There are important things to the Christian faith outside of the Bible. Details and specifics to uncover in hundreds and thousands of works.

As to the dictates of man on Hell, we make hell horrible in our society for the same reason we threaten criminals with the death penalty. We do it to save lives.

“Hell” is neither a Hebrew or a Greek word (both Old and New Testaments were written in those languages), nor did it primarily indicate “a place of torment.” Biblical translators actually derived it from a secular German word - spelled hel - meaning nothing more than concealed or covered. The concept of a demon regulated horror-house was indeed derived from that word, but it actually evolved from Teutonic mythology.

Not only is hell an ancient pagan tradition (not at all unique to Christianity), but the ancient Israelites did not understand death that way according to the Holy Scripture. This is why modern Bible translations are completely evicting that word from the Old Testament! Now, why would any Bible translation seek to remove a word unless it did not belong there in the first place? Because this disgusting fable, originated from a place other than God’s Holy Word - yet was craftily slipped in by the dogma motivated church of ages past.

Example: as demonstrated below, the King James Version erratically assigns two meanings (”hell” and “the grave”) to one Hebrew word: “sheol” (pronounced showl). How many minds have been influenced by this vulgar, hypocritical manipulation? Do “hell” and “the grave” mean the same thing? Ask the church, ask anyone, and they will say “of course not!” Open a Bible and it tells a different story. In fact, open a modern Bible and you will find they have all silently eliminated this deceit! How have they repaired this glaring contradiction? Not by translating sheol as hell consistently. Quite the opposite. They fixed the problem by contradicting the King James Version outright, and eliminating “hell” from the Old Testament altogether!

But, unfamiliar to the Christian majority, the word “hell,” in the entire Bible was actually translated from four unique words: Sheol, Gehenna (a valley in Jerusalem used for dumping refuse), Hades, and Tartarus. Below are a few charts detailing these words to demonstrate how they were translated. For anyone new to the Bible, the NIV stands for New International Version, one of the most popular modern Bibles used in churches worldwide.

The King James translators rendered the Hebrew word sheol as “the grave” 31 times, but, they translated it as “hell” 31 times. The Hebrews believed that everyone - good or bad, great or small - goes to sheol when they die. This form of doctrine influenced translating infused these pagan myths into Bible causing these anomalies as evidenced in the King James Version.:

      Genesis 44:31
It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he (Jacob) will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave (sheol).

      Proverbs 9:18
But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell (sheol).

Hmmm, ok. I guess I should be saying that I think most of these people should be sent to Hades.

Not too many religions have the idea of hell as being a burning, fiery pit. To most, it’s more like the ‘underworld’, or simply, the place dead people go. A place of nothingness.

But, I won’t. I prefer the vindictive, painful agony of the xian hell, so I’ll continue hoping evil people end up there, even if it’s just as mythical of a place as all the other ‘hells’. The xian one has more gore and pain and gnashing of teeth.

Ms. Williams had a lot of people that love and will miss her, and so did Kyle. So many lives changed because of a senseless act. Shouldn’t our focus be on that rather than using this for childish name calling and spouting off about race and religion?

      Haley G,

I applaud half of your efforts to play peacemaker but I attack your actual sentiment which is to set aside judgment for a religious quote.

We’re human beings and we have to make of this world what we can. We have a lot of gray decisions we have to make, but this is not a gray decision and this has absolutely nothing to do with race.

Someone who kills another human being is insane. They are a monster. We have to get rid of them and we have to penalize the attitude and circumstances that produce monsters, or guess what? We get more monsters.

So someone made up hell. The original Old testament didn’t have a hell. We combined Pagan and a host of other beliefs together to describe a horrible, evil place you don’t want to go because it makes a great reinforcement for morality. We bolted it onto religion and we threatened people with it to get a handle on evil.

It has failed a bit here and there, but it’s also kept quite a few bad things at bay.

As to casting stones, another poster on another thread mentioned that we have a Constitutional right to cast stones. You have a Constitutional right to tell us to play nice and cast stones, but you should probably come from a slightly more reasonable and less stale position. Something you can honestly support not just with your faith, which I admire and have some on my own, but with a clear understanding of where we as a people have had to come.

No Jason, I stand by what I said. We all need to have some compassion for our fellow human beings. No matter what the circumstances. Instead of ASSUMING things, we need to be grateful it is not us in that position. And I’m not necessarily meaning in the suspects position as much as in his families position. How awful for them. How narrow minded of any of us to say they might be to blame. And how awful for the victims family. Both families have lost someone they loved, though in different ways.
And last of all, did I hear you right Jason? Did you really say there is NO HELL? I will pray for you, young man. Because someday you will have to meet your creator, and He will not know you either.

I feel horrible for all of you people in the world that have nothing better to do with your time but HATE! It is a horrible thing that happened. But once again for those of us who knew Kyle and saw him in the halls at school he was a great loving kid who everyone got along with. He had many friends and comes from a WONDERFUL family. However, like many kids his age do, he got caught up with the wrong group and into drugs. Unless you have been on drugs yourself you dont know how your body responds to them. Everybody responds differently on drugs. This does not make it ok for what he did. But what a horrible feeling for all of the people who knew the good kid behind the drugs. How do we know he wasnt hallucinating on drugs and happened to have his gun in his car because he loved to hunt. It happened he was at the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong things and now this poor young man at the age of 19 had to live the rest of his life in jail. He will never have kids or a family of his own and neither will the poor beautiful girl affected by this aweful thing. I pray for God to forgive Kyle for making bad chemically induced decisions. I also pray that God brings comfort to all of his wonderful family and friends that are hurting for the loss of their friend. I also pray that God brings comfort to the poor family and friends of Brittany. Luckily her family are CHRISTIANS who grew up learning not to hate and have already announced their forgiveness for what Kyle has done. Maybe if you all read the news you would read that her loving family are haters. They said they do not hate him they hate what he did. I pray for all of you people who have a lot of hate in you. I hope this dont happen to one of you or your loved ones some day.

“It’s not about being closed minded. It’s about God’s Word. There is a hell and it will be the home of everyone not willing to believe…”

No Haley, you aren’t reading God’s word. God never mentions the word Hell. It’s not in his language, it’s not in Christ’s and it was never written by any of his apostles.

Exactly zero mentions of HELL. HEL was a Norse goddess, daughter of Loki who was given dominion over the world of HEL, which was in parallel of the land of giants(Jotanheim) and the land of Midgard. The latin (roman word) for burial was infernus, because they often burned their dead because of limited tomb space. When Jerome translated the word Sheol to make the Vulgate, he used that word so Romans could understand the religion their Emperor Constantine was going to make them a party to.

Hell is a word that comes from another language, from other connotations and from interpretations by human beings. When there was an inquisition and torture chambers in the basements of a host of lords and ladies across the land, Hell was torture because it was something people could understand. After seeing the images of the Holocaust, we’ve added to and refined our image of Hell to include a host of other details.

Your bible is flawed. Doubt me? Learn Hebrew and read the Torah, learn Latin and read the Vulgate of Jerome, learn Greek, Aramaic and a host of other languages that the words were originally written in.

The King James Version of the bible? Do you know the history of that bible? The Church of England used a bible called Geneva’s Bishop’s bible which was inspired by and for political reasons. King James didn’t like it so he asked 54 of his friends to reinterpret the old works and make a better bible. They had writer’s guidelines written up and every last one of them was a King picked man. They in turn had scribes and servants who helped them achieve their respective pieces.

The NIV? A little better, but still not accurate.

The word of God is not just printed in a book for you to read, it has to be thought about, researched, refined and redefined almost every single time you read a passage just so you can understand the intention and meaning behind each and every word.

Thanks for praying for me, I’ll do a little of that for you as well, but afterwards I’ll get off my knees and focus on doing the job God gave me here. That’s living my life as best as I can to the betterment of others. Getting monsters off the street is a hobby. Helping to insure that we continue to use Hell as a tool of fearful protection against Monsters is a part of the social contract.

Study a little more and you may figure out where all of these little details come from.

“lake of fire” . Call it what you want Jason, its still there to greet you in the end if you are a non believer. Now I didn’t come on here to pretend I am a Biblical scholar. I came to make the point that we all need to be less judgmental of this young man AND his family.

The lake of fire is actually a place that will be.

      Revelation 19:20
“And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.”

Most biblical scholars think this is in reference to when God will turn the Dead sea into a literal lake of fire to cast the evil into during the last days.

      Revelation 20:14 supports this reading:
“Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.”

Since Hades here is a direct translation of the Greek, and not merely a mention of Sheol, we are led to understand that this lake of fire will be where those who are dead will be cast into after the day of judgment which has not yet occurred.

The reverend Phelps, and a few others claim and conflate these entities and suggest that this Hell is instant, but Catholic dogma even suggests that Purgatory lies beyond the veil until the day of judgment and that Hell is a place to come.

Christ even talks about this place in other words and specifically mentions that it is a time to come. That Gehenna and “Hell” as it’s translated from “the furnace” are places to come.

      Matthew 13:42
“and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

But I’m not a biblical scholar either. I just pay attention to what is actually said rather than what I am fed.

You’re the one who doesn’t get “goodness sakes.”

For Goodness sakes, people like you need to be either convinced to back down off your ignorant and incorrect interpretation of both the world and religion, before you suicide us into oblivion.

” whether the lake of fire or hell WILL be or is NOW… what does it matter. The point is THERE IS A HELL.”

      No there “isn’t”
Get it through your head. We have Sheol or a Hades, the Earth is where Hell is going to be made. You don’t want to get stuck on Earth. Death is God’s enemy. Death is what he’s going to destroy. Read the book for yourself for once and learn something about your own faith for once.

“SARA, I am sorry for my part in this pointless discussion.”

Pointless? You tried to make the point that only God gets to judge. I refuted that point. That makes it an argument. If you had no point, why did you start one?

“I do tend to agree with you and unfortunately, I have been a part of it.
      My apologies to both families.”

Learn something in this life. There are monsters in this world, who rape, murder, and kill. The only thing that keeps them even marginally at bay is fear of consequences. They don’t want to go to jail, they don’t want to die and some don’t want to be in hell. They avoid committing crimes.

Then there are those who have no fear of their crimes. Either because their Social Awareness is drowned in drugs and alcohol, they have insanities that are shielded by either neglect or enablers, and/or they have a belief system that grants flexibility in the way they conduct their lives.

There are not enough Cops and prisons in the world to stop or hold all of the bad guys who “might” do something wrong. There is a tenuous thread of social dynamics, which help to sustain us. Your words and your interpretation are simply a symptom of those who try to cut that thread.

I should know. From 6-17, I was obligated to praying at the foot of the bed every morning, saying grace for supper, and then again praying before bedtime. This was in-between all the ‘campus crusades for christ’ meetings after school as well as several bible study meetings each week, and not overlooking attending morning, children’s and evening church services on Sundays.

Actually, I’m a good deal Cherokee and Scotch-Irish, and I was raised Methodist or Presbyterian depending on the year, but I doubt I’d be stopped by anyone from walking into your church and sitting down and joining in.

My name is Jason, “Commenter,” and my points are my own. I neither support Israel’s atrocities nor do I deny them the right to live and prosper. I study my history, your history and even have gotten to write a few first hand accounts down. I mentioned the Holocaust as a separate discussion as an example of how we have redefined Hell. Dante gave us a vision, Milton gave us a vision and yes Hitler and Goebbels added one of their own just as Genghis Kahn did, Alexander did, and others like Napoleon, Stalin(admittedly the worst even before the Nazis),Pol Pot, William Henry Harrison and to a degree even Abraham Lincoln and many of his generals(yup, American Presidents do fall in the list).

I got to see first hand when the Klan marched down the street of my home town on Christmas Day 1983 what your “Nationalism” and “Identity” are all about. You can say what you want, but when you break the law, you will be punished, even if you cite the entire poem “Invictus” before they push down on the plungers.

It’s a free country, you say what you want, I say what I want, and I’ll cite you source for source if that’s your goal. Eventually your children will grow up. They will find it hard to adhere to your belief system because it will preclude them from working well with others, with opposing world views. They might make a living as farmers for awhile, but failing to go to leading universities will fail them when more competitive solutions arrive. They will fail at technological endeavors if they fail to understand that the majority of modern technological thought comes from people of different races. Finally, when they’ve had enough of being poor, they’ll forget your dogma and your bull, and they’ll go out and subsume some of those “racialisms” and other lies you told them and find out that the difference between White, Jew and/or Black is actually about the difference between one dog and the next. Some are good, some are bad, but their race and even their genetics usually make up less than 1/2 of what potential they have as human beings.

I can’t change you, but if I live to be 100 I’ll still be laughing about your beliefs and mistakes as long as I bother to remember them. Hopefully I get to see the look on your face at a similar age, when you finally realize you were wrong.

Textbook sociopath. Most likely morality does not even enter into his mind. As to precisely why he did it, only he could say. I’d put my money on something fairly dumb like curiosity though.
