Christopher Mikels and Douglas Mandichak
Sometimes, you want to slap the hell out of all parties involved.
According to Camden County Prosecutor Joshua M. Ottenberg, who cuts a striking figure on his Camden County profile page:
There seems to have been a serious breakdown in the rules of humanity.
Yeah, you could say that.
Christopher Mikels is a special guy.
The 27-year-old Christopher Mikels owns Chris’ Demolition Company, a business that specializes in clearing out properties for real estate agents and landlords. From all accounts, the business was doing well, and Christopher Mikels was employing several of his relatives.
Christopher Mikels was also having sex with one of his relatives, 17-year-old Felicia Mikels, who apparently, when she wasn’t having sex with her uncle, liked to take risque pictures of herself from a variety of angles while lying about her age.
Aside from the sex with her uncle part, Felicia Mikels isn’t much different than any other 17-year-old girl running around in today’s society, which is good news, I suppose, for 17-year-old boys who want an easy lay.
Where does Felicia Mikels get her whole slutty persona from? Hard to say, really. A combination of poverty, inbreeding, New Jersey pollution, and living in a house with far too many people could have all been factors in the equation.
Was it her sister maybe?

Regardless of how she developed her easy nature from, Felicia Mikels’ womb eventually said, “That’s enough of that” and produced the next generation of New Jersey’s high society.
Felicia Mikels was sleeping with a large portion of the population of the Eastern Seaboard, but she had to choose someone to put on the birth certificate, so she chose Ray Ramos, who is in state prison and is unlikely to be much help in raising the fruit of Felicia Mikels’ loins.
From all reports, Felicia Mikels was happy to be a mother, as most 17-year-olds with no long-term prospects other than living off the government teat are.
The baby was cute, as they tend to be until they get old enough to drive a car.
So that was that. Felicia would be yet another teen mother statistic and life would go on.
Welllll……..no. Not quite.
For some reason, as yet unrevealed, Christopher Mikels and his bestest friend in the world, Douglas Mandichak, had a problem with Felicia Mikels. The beef could have been about money, or it could have been about how both of them, while using a ladder to climb out of Felicia Mikel’s vagina, met at the top and had an awkward moment – what it’s about doesn’t really matter.
What matters is that this problem Christopher Mikels and Douglas Mandichak had with Felicia Mikels was serious, as most problems are for those who live in the shadow of ignorance.
Douglas Mandichak worked for Christopher Mikels’ Chris’ Demolition Company, and, according to his grandmother Helen Miller, was a “good, sweet kid” who had learning disabilities and had gone to a special school.
Douglas Mandichak must have just been having a bad day when he was arrested for setting 30 fires in two counties, a crime which he was convicted of in 2003, and sentenced to five years in prison for.
Yay for criminal background checks. Yay for learning about who you’re dealing with. Yeah, PYSIH.com is going to plug NetDetective again, because it’s so much fun learning more about who you know.

Anyways.
Christopher Mikels and Douglas Mandichak decided that they hated Felicia Mikels enough to lure her to a bowling alley two blocks from her home on the 18th of January, 2008.
Using easily-traceable text messages to Felicia Mikels’ cell phone, a feature that prosecutors nationwide adore, Douglas Mandichak and Christopher Mikels met Felicia at the Pinsetter Bar & Bowl. Felicia’s 6-week-old baby, Miciana Ciara Ramos, came along with her mommy, wrapped up in some blankets to protect her against the freezing cold while her mother pushed her along in a stroller to meet the two men.
Once greetings were exchanged, everyone piled into a vehicle and drove to a nearby industrial complex, where Douglas Mandichak and Felicia Mikels got out and one of them started to beat the other to death with a large piece of wood.
I’ll give those of you in New Jersey two guesses to figure out who was beating who.
After Felicia Mikels died, Douglas Mandichak and Christopher Mikels wrapped Felicia’s body up in a tarp, threw it in the back of Mandichak’s truck and drove over to the Fork Landing Road Bridge, where they worked together to dump the grisly package into the Pennsauken Creek
For a while, Douglas Mandichak and Christopher Mikels debated on whether or not they should throw the baby into the creek as well.
Really, that they should even be discussing throwing an innocent 6-week-old baby girl into a freezing body of water is a sign that maybe they shouldn’t be out walking around with civilized folks, or breathing, for that matter.
Sanity prevailed when Christopher Mikels’ argument that Christopher could possibly be the baby’s daddy got through to Douglas Mandichak, who didn’t really want to kill his best friend’s baby, but felt perfectly fine about beating Christopher’s niece to death with a piece of wood and dumping her in a creek.
Looking around, Douglas Mandichak and Christopher Mikels decided to leave Miciana Ciara Ramos on the front lawn of a nearby home, in the stroller her mother had put her in, wrapped up in blankets to protect her against the 20-degree weather. Kind of a weird form of “ding-dong-ditchem,” but without the ringing the doorbell part.
Don’t worry, Miciana Ciara Ramos didn’t die. She was seen the next morning by someone driving to work, who called the police after putting the baby in his car.
After the media got hold of the story and mentioned that the car seat bore Winnie the Pooh decorations, some of Mikels’ relatives realized that this could be Miciana Ciara Ramos and went to the Cherry Hill police department to identify the baby.
Once there, the family members also told the police that the child and Felicia Mikels had been reported missing at about 1 in the morning on Saturday.
Nobody knew where Felicia Mikels was.
The police started with the family and quickly focused on Christopher Mikels, who intelligently pointed out that Felicia had sent him a text message saying that she had run away.
Hey, thanks for that evidence. Really. We appreciate it.
After some suspect/police chatting, Christopher Mikels eventually confessed to what he and Douglas Mandichak had done, explaining that he had sent the text message to himself using Felicia Mikels’ cell phone in order to throw the police off his trail.
Brilliant.
Douglas Mandichak was brought in, who also confessed, mentioning that he had beaten Felicia to death with a piece of wood.
As of this writing, they still haven’t found Felicia’s body, despite a weeks worth of searching through icy, frozen-over water.
DNA has been taken from both Christopher Mikels and Douglas Mandichak to see whose lucky sperm happened to make its way down into Felicia Mikels’ egg.
On the 23rd of January, 2008, a Family Court judge decided that maybe Miciana Ciara Ramos would be better off in foster care instead of with the Mikels clan.
Maybe now the baby has a chance.
Mandichak has been charged with murder, faces life in prison, and is being held on $1 million bail.
Christopher Mikels has a $750,000 bail because he’s only been charged with being an accessory to murder.

Where oh where was Felicia’s mother during all of this?!? For crying out loud, a man having sex with his niece and getting pregnant and then getting killed. There are so many things wrong with this situation it’s difficult to know where to start. How can a family stand by and watch repeated, incestuous sexual abuse and never have even the smallest twinge of moral affront. After reading all the family’s myspace pages, I do not gave the slightest doubt that this child was not ready or equipped to raise a baby that could turn into a decent member of society.
She might have been able to keep it alive long enough to warrant handing it over to gramma, or someone else, when she wanted to go out and get her freak on.
Because it’s pretty clear that her number one priority was hanging with her ‘niggas’ and doing drugs. There are drug references all over her myspace. Pictures of her rolling joints. Just because you post pix of your kid all over your myspace does not mean you are a good mother/father. There are plenty of stories on here where a parent killed their child, yet their myspace was full of the pix of the now dead kid.
In between all the pix of her kid, did you see anything on this girl’s myspace that hinted at her attending school? Having a job? Having any skills to enable her to get a job? Having any kinf of goal other than fucking her boyfriend when he gets out of jail? I thought not.
People do not deserve to be killed. But other people should refrain from idolizing people just because they were able to pop a baby from between their underaged thighs. It is very common at that age to want a baby in the misguided belief that the child will be a source of anticipated ‘love’.
Wakeup call, all you underaged girls… having a baby does not guarantee unconditional love. Sometimes you’re forced to love your child when they say they hate you. Babies and children are actually people, and they will CHOOSE who they want to love.

We are very sorry, Nicole, but I really don’t know that I can feel sorry for a family in which the uncle fathers his niece’s baby. It all sounds kind of like in-breeding to me. What kind of mother would allow that to happen? What kind of mother would allow her daughter to have a child that was fathered by a relative? I know I sure wouldn’t. I’m going to guess neither, as I have seen all of her and her families multiple myspace accounts. And they all seem quite proud of their teenie baby-momma status, their drug usage, their appallingly uneducated language skills (or lack thereof), their boyfreinds in jail, and a myriad of other less pleasant things. No mention on any of the myspaces about her or her sister attending school, which in my state is mandatory. How was her sister supporting her child? How was Felicia planning on supporting her child? If you get pregnant at 16, and have at least 3 choices of men who have to be dna tested to determine paternity, you are pretty much on the WRONG path in life.
I’d like to know who paid for her hospital/childbirth? My first one cost over $22,000… and if I had not been working and had insurance, I would have been wiped out. How was she able to afford to smoke all that pot she so proudly has pictures of herself puffing on? How was she able to afford all those ghetto-gangsta-teenwhore clothes she was wearing? Or not wearing.
I am pretty sure I’ve gotten a good overall picture of this girl and all her family and friends. And, I got that impression from THEM, not from news reports. I do have a family, and an incredible wife. I love my family very much. The Mikels family says they love each other. Easy words to say. I can say I love anybody. I love you, I love popcorn, I love my car – but I won’t protect you, my popcorn, or my car the way I will protect my family.
I also show my love to my brother by not going over and fucking his daughter and I think it’s pretty safe to assume I can leave him alone with my daughters without fear of him fucking them.
My children make a lot of mistakes. We work through them, learn, and move on with our lives, hopefully not to make the same mistake again.
My oldest daughter is 20. She’s due to have a baby in about a week. I don’t want her to have a baby yet. She’s too young. I want her to experience a little bit more in life without the responsibility of a baby, but she decided she wants to keep her. I don’t ever want her to look at the baby with resentment because she couldn’t do something because she had a baby to take care of, or because she had to place the baby’s needs above her own.
I’m pretty easy to get along with. I don’t have a very high level of expectation, and I’ve made enough mistakes in my life to know that using myself as a yardstick to measure society with isn’t unreasonable. So, with that being said, I stand by my statement – The Mikels family needs to be wiped off the face of the earth.

I used to hunt and have no objection to guns. Believe it or not, assault rifles can be used for hunting. I think a bit easier to carry out in the field if you’re hunting for coyote. I also think all guns should be registered and licensed. I think people should demonstrate proficiency, firearm safety knowledge, and pass a comprehensive backgroud check to get a license. I’m also opposed to the concealed weapon law that Nebraska recently passed.

Many people have “difficult” teen years because they come from homes filled with pain and abuse. Many teenage girls act out with promiscuity. She didn’t deserve what she recieved, no matter what she put on some idiotic social networking site. It would be interesting to see the picture painted if any of you self-righteous posters had to leave your legacy at 17.
Yes, it is sad that some children do not have warm loving homes, and parents who set standards for themselves and their children.
However, once the “child” becomes an adult, I lose my sympathy for them. Especially if they pass the same shit on to their own children.
I know many people who have had dysfunctional upbringings to some degree or another. And every one of my friends who grew up that way made clear choices to protect their kids from it. Every one. Maybe that makes us self-righteous, but part of the definition of self-righteous is an intolerance towards certain behaviors. Damn straight – I am 100% intolerant of crappy parents. I am intolerant of people who spit out babies without having any means to provide for them and ones who don’t put their child FIRST in their life.
I am sorry I can’t do anything for the poor children they produce – but I can hope that they learn to take the high road, and get themselves and their future offspring out of the shit-cycle.
Felicia certainly didn’t deserve to be killed, but she put herself, and her precious baby, into a position of vulnerability by being promiscious and by associating with the people she did. It’s a tragedy, but not altogether unexpected, considering the lifestyle she lived.
I find it unbelievable how many people are focusing on her being a “slut” and a “whore,” ignoring the fact that she was the victim in all this. People keep focusing on her promiscuity, all the while excusing promiscuity in all the men around her and in men in general. Her uncle (who was an adult) was having sex with her (and she was a minor). Yet no one focuses on his disgusting perversion and his promiscuity.
Hey DS, I’m a man and I’m not at all prone to promiscuity. I think you’ve made a grave broad generalisation with your comments or maybe all of the men in your family and the ones you surround yourself with are just dirt bag pieces of shit.
While we’re all generalising, how about I just generalise that you you are a filthy V.D., syphillis carrying, loose cunted whore. Thats not aimed at you specifically, just women like you “in general”.
No one is excusing promiscuity on the part of the criminals. Her uncle’s disgusting perversion is well documented and pretty much agreed on by all. He is a cold-blooded killer, and deserves to hang by his balls for all of eternity for what he did.
However – you cannot just accept that the victim had ZERO responsibility at all. That is something that alot of people do not seem to understand. You can’t simply excuse or ignore bad behavior of the victim once something bad happens to them. When people do stupid things, or make bad choices, and then something happens to them, it does not just negate their own behavior.
Of course this girl did not deserve to die for her bad choices, but the fact remains that she hung out with scummy people, and scummy people are not generally “safe” people.
I find it unbelievable that people somehow turn a slutty, drug abusing, irresponsible, uneducated victim into some sort of a saint just because she was killed. If she hadn’t been all of those things, she would probably not have been in the place that she was, at the time that she was, which allowed these dirtballs to do what they did. It’s called “cause and effect”.
And, I don’t think there is anything wrong with pointing all this out, either. Maybe if someone had explained it to her, she would not have been the trainwreck that she already was.

In case anyone’s interested, yesterday Christopher Mikels and Douglas Mandichak were indicted by a Camden County NJ grand jury for the first-degree murder of Felicia Mikels. For what it’s worth, I think some folks have been pretty harsh on Felicia. Sometimes, when you’re stuck in a hell hole, you fight back, and sometimes you join in. If that’s all she knew, it must have seemed pretty comfortable to her. A lot more comfortable than facing being raped by her Uncle and God knows who else in her family. She’s a victim in my eyes, but that’s just my humble opinion.

This is a sad and EXTREMELY MESSED UP story! Not that it matters, but have they said what their motive was yet? And who fathered the baby?
I am with Max, she wasn’t an innocent victim but how messed up was her life her whole childhood. I can say that I was molested when I was a child by my father and my brothers and I thought that this was normal for a long time. If I had continued to live in this situation I would have probably thought that random sex was normal. It takes enlightenment to change things and if all that was ever around was dirt this life was normal. I will say that NO ONE ever asks to be raped and especially not by a family member. You never know who is going to be a murderer. It might be your trashy uncle or your well to do cousin that is just doing it to get a thrill like the boys from the Ukraine. Poverty doesn’t make dictate who is going to kill. I pity this baby because Felicia may have started to make different decisions when she grew up and realized that she could make decisions for herself. If she had grown up and not chosen a different lifestyle then I would judge her but she should have been given the chance to do that.
i was molested as a child, and lived with a domineering semi-abusive mother. we were a welfare family, adn my daddy wasnt around growing up. as soon as i could, i got a job in fast food and continued my school career, even while moving around alot and not knowing what was going to happen day to day. i can honestly say that if i hadnt had my child i wouldnt be where i am today, a college sophomore and fiancee to a wonderful man. even if you grow up in a hell-hole with not very many options open to you, you can always change your circumstances, i did. it’s easy to fall into the trap that society and others have laid for you, but if you are very willing, than anything can happen. who knows, maybe she would have been a good mom, to the best of her abilities, but we wont get to know that thanks to those ignorant jackasses that killed her and tossed her away…. but rightly she does have some blame because of how she represented herself, like lying about her age on a myspace website, and those icky pictures. how well was the baby taken care of before she was murdered? and was she trying to get her life straight? those answers we probably wont ever know…………….

I feel very sorry for this poor girl. She didn’t have a fair start, middle or end to her life. I probably wouldn’t have liked her at all had she lived in my neighborhood, BUT she definitely did not deserve to die. She seemed to be a victim many times over, the poor thing. She had no choice who she was born to or how she was raised. People learn what they live and she was still only a child when she was killed. In all likelyhood, had she been given the chance to grow up, she would have stayed pretty much the same, but who knows – maybe she would have woken up in a year or so and thought, “Hey. I want a better life for my baby”, and do something about it. We will never know. I really enjoy this site and most of the time, I find most of the posts here agreeable, but for this particular story, I find it sad that both the story and posts just seem to want to villify her. As dislikable of a person she was, I don’t think that is fair at all. I do hope her baby is given to another, more responsible family however, but I feel terrible that all that is left of the baby’s mother is nothing but bad memories of a girl raised and treated wrongly from the day she was born.

i think the way you are talking about the victim is terrible, obviously she was rebelling with her sexuality because of her uncle raping her. she was obviously fucked up, you should only care about these monsters that killed her and now about how she lived her life. any way you see it, doesn’t make it right.
