  • Daniel Snay

Daniel SnayThis is 56-year-old Daniel Snay.

Daniel Snay is an older sex offender who was sentenced for the first time back in 1974, when he was given a suspended sentence of one year for indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.

Daniel Snay didn’t take advantage of this warning, violated his probation terms and, as a result, spent a year in jail.

Then again, in 1976, Daniel Snay was hit with another conviction of indecent assault and battery on a child. This time, he was slapped with a 5 to 7 year prison sentence. Daniel Snay took the opportunity to escape from prison in November of 1978, which resulted in a fun little manhunt in the area while everyone played “find the sexual predator.”

After that was all sorted out, Daniel Snay again walked freely among us, until in 1986 he was arrested and charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, as well as being charged with sexual assault of a 7-year-old boy. The charges of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 stuck, and he was sentenced to spend two two-year terms in prison, to be served concurrently.

The same thing happened in October of 1987. Yes, he did it again, and was again sentenced to two two-year concurrent sentences.

Let’s hear it for wise judges, folks.

So, in total, according to the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry, between the years of 1974 and 1987, Daniel Snay was convicted four times of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 years or older and charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years of age.

As a result of his crimes, Daniel Snay has been labeled as a level 3 sex offender and, as such, is required to register his address with the sex offender registry and to let them know whenever he moves to a new address. Despite this requirement of his release, Daniel Snay hasn’t registered his address since May of 2004 - after he was arrested in April of 2004 for failing to register.

This is nothing special. There are quite literally thousands of sex offenders that have disappeared into the night, failing to register and only being found when they turn up for one reason or another - usually after being arrested for something petty and being identified as a wanted sex offender.

On the 16th of January, 2008, Daniel Snay forked over $20 and bought a Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch ticket. He won, of course.

Daniel Snay’s picture was posted in all the usual places. TV stations did the typical “lottery winner” piece, not knowing anything about Daniel Snay other than the fact that he’s worked at Certified Sales Incorporated - a yacht broker - for the last 40 years.

So it was a big surprise when someone called into the lottery offices and a few television stations and let everyone know that 20 years ago, Daniel Snay was really into sexually abusing smaller, younger people.

The fact that Daniel Snay hadn’t registered his new address in a new state has upset Connecticut officials, however, who just might charge Daniel Snay with failing to register as a sexual offender.

Does Daniel Snay’s past deserve Hell? Or does the fact that Daniel Snay hasn’t been convicted of anything for the past the 20 years mean that he’s earned a reprieve? Will the $500,000 Daniel Snay will collect for the next 20 years allow him the freedom to commit other crimes, or has he learned his lesson?

    What do you think?

    Does Daniel Snay deserve Hell?

Well, so far I am not too sure what to say about this. I don’t think he deserves hell though. I guess it all depends on weather or not he has been going into his old ways?

I’m with Kdogg on this one. If hot coffee on someones lap is worth millions then his victims should be able to snag that ticket pretty easily. He doesn’t need to have an easy means to getting away with future crimes.

Who knows-maybe he is reformed if it’s been 20 years since he got caught. But maybe it’s been 20 years since he got “caught”.
He needs to be charged with failing to register.

If he is reformed, he owes it to his victims to do whatever he can to make things right. If not, his victims should sue and hound him for money until he’s been sucked dry. If people can sue the Catholic Church after all these years they should be to sue him.

Don’t see any real point in me sending him to Hell. We could hook him up with brittany wood for a day or two and let him decide for himself.

I got $5.00 that says he choses Hell.

People that committ these kinds of crimes are terrible, and them having money will not make them any less horrible than before. Money can not bring true happiness to evil people, it only makes them fall haerder, and have more to loose.

Admin- If I had wanted to join and read a biased specific religion blog, I would not have joined one that I thought was centered on discussion of crime and punishment.

Having to scroll down through brittany wood’s constant religious comments in order to find some intelligent posting to read is wearing thin on me.

I regularly read about 6 different crime sites, but this is the only one I ever post on. I will have to stop posting and reading if brittany woods is continued to be allowed to treat this blog as if it were their own, and to essentially hijack someone else’s blog for their own purposes just because they are to fat and lazy to start their own religious blog.

Just sayin. It is not much fun or interesting anymore to read here with brittany wood’s sermons on every thread.

i don’t care what everyone says, i know that daniel snay isn’t a bad person. he’s my father, and i know that what he did was disgusting, but hasn’t that poor man been punsihed enough? he’s had four of his children taken away from him (i haven’t talked to him or seen him for about six years), and i know that he’s changed because he’s been around children and hasn’t touched one since he was arrested for it. and how fair is it for some so-called “christians” to be judging him. i an a christian too, and i wouldn’t condemn anyone, because the last time i checked, it was God’s place to judge people, not anyone else’s.

      @kitti,

i’m sorry for you, but i stand by what i said before. have the kids he molested put all this behind them? does atonement mean he’s off the hook, even though his victims may be scarred for life? he may not be a bad person now, but that’s a bit too late don’t you think?
btw, i’m not christian, so i feel perfectly ok about judging someone else.
on a sidenote, what do you care what people here say? if you say he’s not a bad person, then go ahead and have a happy remainder of your life with him, nobody here’s stopping you (or cares for that matter).

Meanwhile after his sentence there are clubs like this pestering him for decades to come .
Ofcourse his deeds were horrible ,but when i take in account that except court also selfrightious idiots feel allowed feel themselves allowed to punish those people eternal he payed his prices .
So does he deserve to go to hell ,No .
And for the Catholics among you .

yeah as far as what to do with the winnings, he really didn’t do anything illegal. He seemed to win fair and square.

As far as him being a sex offender and abusing multiple children he deserves hell.

IT’s interesting that he was ordered to serve two concurent two year sentences in 86 and then again sentenced to the same thing in 87. They must’ve been real stupid judges to not give him more. He obviously got lucky and released from prision early and commited the same crime. For that you would think the second sentence would be quite harsher.

1987 - there were plenty of asylums open in MA - though Gov Dukakis was shutting them down. He was rather soft on crime and loved to blame the Reagan administration for the problems in the Commonwealth.
THis perve would be the perfect POS specimen for keepiong the asylums open and locking them up. I read a great history of Northampton and back in the 1870’s the place was run in such a way that it paid for itself - it did NOT need state funds. THis POS should be in a “special” community as such after his first victim.

I know several girls who were abused and as women they STILL see a therapist - more than 20 years later! Guess what? They have copays!

So if any POS says that they’ve “paid their debt” by receiving 3 hots and a cot - BULLSHIT! The victim is all but forgotten in the “criminal justice system” once the trial is over.

I say that these POS owe the victims ALL back expenses ealated to the abuse and these POS also should re-imburse the insurance companies as well - abuse as such is no accident and I am tired of having my premiums rise or benefits cut because so many people need therapy now thanks to people like Mike Dukakis who was so soft on crime.

Make this POS pay - what he stole from those children can never be repayed, but taking his windfall away would be good “sensitivity therapy” because he would feel the pain of having something precious stolen!

lol, yesterday out of CPU again and now i see a post in Dutch. this thread got posted on one of our most popular online newspapaers, http://www.telegraaf.nl. guess it had the same effect as last time, a rather large invasion of Dutch people on this site.
I’ll translate the bit that was in Dutch here:

      “laifferd on February 12th, 2008 10:13 am
IF this man hasn’t made anymore mistakes, then people will have to see that he wants to work and wants to help his kids get an education so they get a proper job later in life, which is a good thing right? He does need to be checked regularly though, so that he doesn’t make the same mistake again, as hiw crimes are inhumane and intolerable, rape is still the worst thing that can happen to a person.”

The rest is a bit of drivel in my humble opinion (actually, the part i DID translate is a bit too touchy feely for me as well, but hey).

Jeesa louisa. My disgust for people who can’t refrain from preaching for their own self-serving needs has been overcome by the fact that..

      If I am correct…

2 separate daughters are giving props to a molestor-daddy.

It would be very shitty of me to hint that perhaps baby-girls will be coming out of the woodwork to get a slice of that yummy lottery-cheesecake.

“i don’t care what everyone says, i know that daniel snay isn’t a bad person. he’s my father, and i know that what he did was disgusting, but hasn’t that poor man been punsihed enough? ”

Not sure. How much real ‘punishment’ did he really get? His victims most likely will suffer for life, along with their family and friends. Ask a few survivors what that’s like.

“he’s had four of his children taken away from him (i haven’t talked to him or seen him for about six years),”

Common sense usually dictates that people like that not be allowed around children at all.

“and i know that he’s changed because he’s been around children and hasn’t touched one since he was arrested for it.”

That comment makes me curious. Usually sexual predators are ordered not to be allowed around children. Does this mean he has been around children anyway? And, WHY in the world would anyone allow him around children?

“my father paid his debt to society, and was punished for what he did.”

Um, not so sure based on his fluffy sentences that he really paid any debt to society. I’m more interested in whatever debt he paid to his victims. Once you fuck over and ruin people’s lives forever, it makes for kind of a bottomless pit of debt, y’know?

You got at least 2 (I’m going to guess more will crawl out of the woodwork) daddy’s babygirls defending new lotterydaddy…..
He’s such a great guy, you say? Then he’d have no problem paying back his karmic debt to his previous victims by sharing a little of his undeserved new wealth, right?

      Yeah, I thought not.

Once you win the lottery, through no effort or work on your own part, you can expect all kinds of weirdos to start showing up with their grubby little hands, demanding a piece of the pie. I’m going to guess that some of those grubby little hands will belong to victims that this POS hasn’t ever been linked to. Unless they’re all laying in a field somewhere.

The chances of someone like this POS never having reoffended in this long is slim. More likely, he just didn’t get caught.

If Mr. Lottery is such a stand-up guy, then he’ll have no problem sending a little cash to his previous victims, even though it’s insulting since money can’t erase what he did.

      WHOAAA. I almost missed this….

“(i haven’t talked to him or seen him for about six years)”

Odd, that a daughter has had no contact with a great guy who has not been incarcerated for many years, but thinks that regardless of the lifelong damage they caused someone else, they’re a great person. Or that they’d know, even with no supposed contact, that said ‘dad’ had been around children since, and was able to not molest them.

As if we are all supposed to cheer. Can you say ‘Ka-CHING’!

You haven’t seen your POS dad for 6 years? Things that make you go…. hmmmm.

      1. Send him to prison for flight and non-registering. Send him back to prison for that.
      2. Post his pix EVERYWHERE, so that all the people he supposedly didn’t assault can sue against his winnings.
      3. Use his winnings to pay off all the legal civil suits his previous known and unknown victims file against him. He’s such a great guy, he’ll see how morally it’s the right thing to do… offer the sad excuse of money in exchange for the damage he’s done.

Me? I’d like to win the lottery. Kind of hard if you don’t waste your money on tickets. But, I’d get to keep it all to myself and my favourite charities, since I’ve never preyed on anyone or ruined their lives.

I do not even want to know what kind of men these ’supportive’ daughters are hooking up with. Women who have losers for fathers generally tend to choose loosers as partners.

Men are more important in children’s lives than people think.

I wish I had more details of the guy’s original crimes. I know there are a lot of people on the registry that are not what a normal person would consider to be dangerous criminals. Like that poor sap who got sentenced to 10 years in prison because he (gasp!) did oral sex with a consenting 15-year-old girl when he was 17 years old. I’ve also heard that in some states people can end up on the registry for urinating in public — indecent exposure. I mean, it’s disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed, but it’s not a sex crime.

I don’t think I’m against the registry as an idea, but I think they should only use it for dangerous offenders and not public urinators or sexually active teenage boys.

      Yes. This.
      _______________________

Baby-girl… You say that you haven’t seen your fantastic daddy in 6 years. You backtrack and say you’ve ‘talked’ to him for the last year. I’ll let that go, I’m guessing it means you talked on the telephone or something. But, if you add up how many years daddy-dearest was in prison for sexual offenses (wasn’t that about 4 years?), that would make at least 10 years that you probably didn’t see him.

Based on your writing ability, I’m going to judge you as being somewhere between 14-18 years old. If you actually ever did live with your mommy and daddy in a happy little family, which I doubt ever happened, that’d be for a whole, what… 4-8 years total? For some reason I don’t believe your timeline with the whole legal system and the in/out of prison thing, and I don’t believe you’ve ever really had any ‘real’ or healthy relationship with the man who knocked your mommy up a couple of times. If the sister you speak of is also with your mom. If not, I guess he was knocking up other mommies, too.

Most other ‘really great dads’ are involved with their childrens lives quite extensively. They usually support them financially, too. And they tend not to go to prison repeatedly for sexual offenses.

So, my guess is that daddy looks a lot better now, with all that money bulging in his pockets.

There should be some kind of enforceable OJ Simpson law that enforces that if any convicted criminal wins the lottery, they get at the end of the payout line. After their victims get reasonable restitution, and after they pay back the court system for what the trial cost the rest of us taxpayers. After they repay any child support they skipped out on.

And then after all that, then see if they can still scrape up enough cash for that plane ticket to Thailand.

You can wear thongs in Nebraska. You just have to remember that layering is the key to staying warm.

Thongs are the thing in my neighborhood. I do like boy shorts too. bit of advice though, NEVER wear a thong on the bike, especially if your going on a 300 mile poker run. OUCH! I think the pain could be comparable to having your nut ripped off by some looney broad. ha, Broad I hate that word.

Our whole town is Fun, excluding all the jackassed cops. There is always a blowout party either in the works or happening. and moonings and streaking are the norm. my neighbors actually live in Sioux City (him) and Omaha (her) and bought their house by me because it’s so fun to come and hang out and play every weekend. I’m in the process of hatching a plan to get them to ‘BUY A BIKE’. one small enough for her to ride (sportster) cuz his alcohol tolerance isn’t the best. Got stay safe ya know.

      Michael- in Nebraska?

Nebraska Mom, you crack me up. Thongs on a bike. hahahah. too funny. I wish I lived in a fun town. Actually, with everything going on in the news these days, I wish I lived anywhere else but the good ‘ol U S of A. Maybe I’ll move to Amsterdam. hahhahahah. Now THAT sounds like a happenin’ place. :)

Amsterdam. I don’t know alot about it, but isn’t that where tulips come from and they have ‘coffee-houses’ that are actually legal hash and marijuana shops. I don’t use these products be probably would be high all the time if I lived there. and I love tulips. so it sounds cool to me. sorta like a real ‘zen’ place to be. maybe that’s where Daniel Snay will move to with all of his lottery winnings and stayed too stoned to molest again.

Stay away from the hot chicks trying to get you to the Hostels….especially if you’re an American White Chick. I’ll tell you what happens next is beyond kinky…

But hey, if you do move their enjoy your Royal with Chesse, beer from McDonalds and all the weed you can smoke and then some more to eat.

Yep that’s what I heard about Amsterdam and yes, I would probably be high as hell all the time. hahahha. Maybe that’s why everybody is so happy over there. Ya think? We don’t hear much about bad things happening in Amsterdam. LOL. I hope Daniel doesn’t move there, it would totally disturb the cleanliness if that dirtbag moved there. They would probably stone him in the town square. No pun intended. hahahah.

I just thought of this but it sounds fair to me. Daniel should have to take his winnings and.. 1) pay for his victims mental heathcare for the rest of their lives or 2)donate every penny (sign the ticket over) to a foundation for victims of such sexual assults. 3) repay the correctional service facilities for the houseing, food, and any other services he recieved during his lock-up. If criminals were held repsponible to pay back for their own bills that were incurred while they were locked up, that would help take some burden off of the taxpayers. and I don’t think cable tv and internet services would be something thay would want if they had to pay for it. Sorta like literally having to ‘pay your debit to society’ Just a thought.

I have never seen Hostel, Brittany. Calm down. hahahah. I will beware of hot chicks and Hostels. hahaha.

Nebraska Mom, I’ve thought about that before. When a criminal is paroled or whatever, send him/her a bill for the time they spent in the system. Make sure to itemize every little thing so they will know exactly what they are paying for. Toilet paper, food, snacks…things they take for granted that some good citizens are actually doing without. It makes me sick. That is an awesome idea. Bill them for all the time they spent lazing around doing nothing. hahahah.

If these dirtbags had to repay, I think that many of them would either
      1. Stay behind bars as to avoid having to pay anything back
      2. Go on the bread and water diet.
      3. All share 1 DSL line

Let’s change it to the Victim Justice System, but then again how cruel will the ACLU let us be?

Imagine - a criminal treated as poorly as a taxpayer at an IRS audit! Or a criminal having to undergo the same treatment as a working father paying child support! The horror and inhumanity of such!

I was in prison with danny snay in 1979 in MCI Norfolk,he was my best friend and he was not at that time serving time for a skin crime. If he escaped as you say in 1978 I would have never met him;Danny was moved from Walpole to Norfolk,if he did in fact escape from custody he would have been sent DIRECTLY to Ten Block in Walpole(Supermax)Dan was in the cell next to me and he never said, did or tried anything on any one that I know of Danny is a good person at heart and if he was ever convicted of a skin crime I would have known and the people in my unit would have put him in intensive care. There was also another Dan Snay in the system at the time so don’t assume; you can’t believe everything you read so stop looking for the bad in everyone. Danny Snay is not a skinner or he would have had to do his time in protective custody and I would have put him there myself

Can’t help but agree with Nebraska Mom and GloryBug, but, since I want Danny-boy to send me a check for $80,000.00 I can’t say anything negative about him, his daughters, or his bitch, Bob E., from MCI Norfolk.

Yes, Nebraska Mom, I live in the thriving metropolis of Omaha. I’m the cute one.

      Couple of thoughts.
Boyshorts- yes. Comfy. Thongs? Not so much. I don’t generally purposefully shove things in my buttcrack. Thongs, to me, have about the same usefulness as crotchless panties. Fun for about 5 minutes in the bedroom before the get lost under the bed. I certainly would not wear them under clothes. I’d rather go commando.

As far as Bob E. goes… I’m not sure someone’s ex prison roomie is the kind of reference most people would like on their resume. He also doesn’t need to support his ex roomie, since we all know that everyone in prison is innocent, and was set up, and that once all the facts are known, we’ll all have to apologize.

While I’m curious about all the references to ’skin-crime’ and ’skinners’, at the same time, I don’t want to know that slang. Is it perhaps along the lines of ’shanking’ or ’shivving’? Is a ’skinner’ one who commits a sex-crime? If so, what’s the etymology of the slang word?

On another note- I’d like to see an updated pic of said POS in court. I think it’s funny that most perps who seemingly have always had a beard/mustasche end up in court clean-shaven. As if guys who shave never commit crimes!

Michael, so that’s you I saw last saturday night at 20th & Dodge about 9 pm? You ARE cute! LOL I was at the Scottish Rite, the Shrine circus is coming to town.

Jayni - “Lately I have been hearing some crazy things about that place and it kind of scares me.” me running around in a thong isn’t THAT scarey….unless I’m really drunk and fall down. ok- well once it was pretty scarey..when I was riding one of those pocket bikes in my bikini down main street and biffed it. the thong that day was actully what is now called ‘flip-flop’ shoes. That scared me and alot of others. but looking back-it was pretty funny! only a tiny bit of road rash so it’s all good. hahaha

Nebraska Mom, you crack me up! So do you really run around in a thong?

I know I have had my fair share of stuff like that happening. I know that I don’t like things stuck in my crack but I have had some pretty weird roomies. Ex. I had an asian roomie that would wear his jock strap outside in the freezing weather. I would record him running around in it and then make videos of it. Too bad he got ahold of the home videos because they were great! Someone always seemed to be outside smoking. They would catch a glimpse and run inside! lol

There was a different time when my roomies and I would talk to people online from the area we live in. So we would have these people come over and “meet” us. What we were really doing was giving them the neighbors address and they would go over there and knock on the door. They would find no one home and then they would go home and get online again and ask for the address again. They would come back the the side of town we lived on and try another vacant house. I would sit there and record it for shits and giggles because it was so funny! Most of these guys would be horny old guys looking for teen girls. My roomies and I would make videos of them and post them online but I can’t seem to find them anymore. :( It shows how weird some people really are though.

Sorry, I know, I am blabbing.
