  • Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton

Joseph NagleThe parents of 16-year-old Joseph Nagle will be the first ones to tell you that, as a parent, you can only do so much.

Most kids start out all soft and fuzzy and lovable. They’re more or less easy to love and take care of at that point.

Then they grow up, get big, get an attitude.

    They start to grow hair.

They start to dress like a thug, or a slut.

And then, before you know it, you have a child like Joseph Nagle or his girlfriend, 17-year-old Cheyenne Blanton.

I’m sure that the parents of all parties involved were quite happy when Joseph Nagle, whose boring and private MySpace page can be seen here and the love of his life, Cheyenne, whose MySpace page can be found here, even managed that high school holy grail together - having unprotected sex, producing a baby and dumping it on their grandparents!

Three cheers for the future of America!

On the 21st of February, 2008, both Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton decided, like many youths do, that they wanted a car. They didn’t work, they didn’t have any money, but (also) like many youths, they decided that the lack of funding for their dreams wasn’t going to stop them - they were going to steal one.

This is not especially surprising, as both Joseph and Cheyenne have criminal records, having been convicted on domestic violence charges and numerous probation violations, and spending a large amount of time in juvenile incarceration facilities.

Cheyenne BlantonBut on that day Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton, who are both criminal masterminds, chose to steal the car of Sheila Clark, who lives in a rural home in Hanover Township, Ohio.

    Their plan was simple.

Both Joseph and Cheyenne would break into the house, hide, wake up in the morning before Sheila Clark left, find her car keys and steal her car.

How the pair intended to keep Sheila Clark from calling the police once she woke up and noticed her car missing hasn’t been revealed, but hey…would it possibly involve some kind of physical violence?

    Sure it would.

Fortunately for Sheila Clark, she woke up before Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton did, getting in her car and driving to work, leaving her 18-year-old disabled daughter, Ashley Clark, home alone with Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton - two predators with nothing to do for several hours in someone else’s house.

So the pair made something to eat for themselves, and went to wake Ashley Clark up.

On that Friday, the 22nd of February, Ashley Clark was at home recovering from brain surgery.

Now, if you’ve ever had brain surgery, or if you know someone who has had brain surgery, you know that unless you’ve gone out and bought a home brain surgery kit, paying a specialist to cut into someone’s head and fix whatever is wrong is usually really, really expensive. It can take a while to get surgery scheduled, there’s always some complication involved, and really - having someone cut into your head is kind of scary in the first place.

So when you’ve gone through brain surgery, you really want to take care of your noggin afterwards. You don’t ride your motorcycle without a helmet, you don’t jump off podiums onto wet floors, you don’t run at people with your head down and try to knock them over.

You also ask people who intend to give you a savage beating over the span of six or so hours not to hit your head. You ask them nicely. You might beg a little bit.

You’d probably, like Ashley Clark did, tell Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton that you had just had brain surgery and cry and plead them to stop hitting you on the head.

But Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton refused to respect Ashley Clark’s boundaries.

Throughout the day, Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton tortured Ashley Clark for absolutely no reason.

Ashley was beaten, with fists, with feet and with a baseball bat. She was beaten to the point where she had severe bruising and swelling all over her hands, arms, face and body, along with bleeding from her face and forehead.

Ashley Clark’s hair was cut off.

She had been made to stand in the shower while Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton threw water on her. Once she was nice and soaked, they made her walk outside, over the snow-covered ground.

And remember. It’s not like Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton wanted something from this girl. They made no demands. They weren’t out to take her life savings. They weren’t trying to uncover a terrorist bombing plot.

They were torturing a helpless, disabled girl who they knew had brain surgery, for no reason at all other than to entertain themselves.

The fun came to an end when Sheila Clark came home from work. As she came home, she found her house looking like it had been ransacked and her daughter looking like she’d been tied behind a truck and dragged for a while.

She called the police, who arrived in a few minutes and did what police do when they’re called to situations like this.

The cops looked the scene over, went outside and saw two pairs of shoe prints leading through the snow.

Following the shoe prints, the police came across Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton, hiding in a field next to the Clark house.

    And that was that.

After the pair was arrested, the police notified the kids’ parents that their kids had been picked up for torturing a helpless, disabled girl, and this is where my faith in humanity is rekindled.

They left the kids in jail, let the world know that their kids did something wrong and announced that they support the victim - not their children.

According to a written statement that Joseph Nagle’s father released to the press on the 25th of February, 2008 - the day his son was arraigned:

We are here today not to show support for Joe and Cheyenne but for Miss Clark and her family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. We pray that they are all able to heal from this horrific ordeal and put their lives back together. As parents, we have done everything in our power to turn Joseph around, including mental health counseling, family therapy, incarceration and commitment to the Butler County Juvenile Behavioral Rehabilitation Program. It is our hope that justice for Joseph and Cheyenne is swift and severe.

Amazingly, Cheyenne Blanton’s mother, Wendy Blanton, agreed with Joseph Nagle’s father:

Something needs to happen. They definitely don’t need to be walking the streets, that’s for sure. I’m still in shock. I’m still wanting to wake up I guess. It’s like a big nightmare to me.

Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton have been arraigned on juvenile delinquency charges including aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, felonious assault and vandalism. Prosecutors are confident that the judge will approve a move to adult court for the pair, due to the seriously screwed up nature of this crime and the criminal history of these two idiots.

If convicted on all counts in an adult court, Joseph and Cheyenne could face between 8 to 28 years in prison.

Joseph Nagle and Cheyenne Blanton will, of course, be given court-appointed attorneys who will try to keep the pair in juvenile court.

Hooray!! It is such a breathe of fresh air for the parents to side with the victim, not their POS kids… Major brownie points for the parents and you have lots of love and support from friends and strangers alike, I’m sure (including myself)… As for Joseph and Cheyenne, I hope they get life, nevermind 8 years, how can you torture a girls who has just had brain surgery for NO REASON? I esp. can’t fathom the girl doing it, no offense guys but girls are naturally more caring, I guess not in this case… I hope these two are as tough as they aspire to be because hopefully Karma will catch up with them in jail and they will be the ones begging… I hope the Clark family and Cheyenne and Joes families can move on from this eventually and live long, happy, healthy lives…

It’s good to see some parents who aren’t blind to the faults of their offspring. But wow, this is horrible. I hope those two go away for a long long time.

I am sure that the parents have given up partially because of the system. The POSs’ parents could not discipline them in the past without getting in trouble themselves, so this is what our new society produces!
One nice thing about even an 8 year sentence - by the time these POS get out they are on their own - Mommy and Daddy can have them arrested for trespassing should they want to come back home!

So it sounds like they lost more than just their freedom….. I went to their myspace pages - she loves her baby….. yeah to show it off as some trphey and for whatever benidits she can get - maybe a little more sympathy with the jury!
She’s got to be a good mother - she beats on adults only! (Ashley is 18, so it’s not like they beat on a child)

Another horrific story…I approve the parent’s point of view to feel really sorry for the victim, and don’t take place beside their children; No way, we won’t agree about what you did, and justice will take

I feel so bad for the defendants’ parents. They are doing the right thing by denouncing their children’s behavior but it must be so difficult for them. Of course, I feel even worse for the victim, and her mother.

I hope the defendants go to jail for a long, long time.

I feel bad for Ashley, her mother, the baby, the defendants parents. Everybody except the scumbags that did the beating. They’re pretty fucking tough, lets’s see how they hold up in prison.

      What the hell!?!?!?!?
They should never see the light of day again. How cold blooded do you have to be to do something so disgusting? I can’t wrap my mind around it. Did the geniuses think they wouldn’t be caught? Did they think she would be unable to identify them? They clearly didn’t think at all. Pure evil. I don’t want people capable of something like this roaming the streets ever, but even if the max is imposed, they could breathe free air again. Scary.

Why is it that when I start to question my beliefs about the death penalty, along comes another story about somebody (or two) who is so sick, twisted and evil, that I see there’s still a need for it. There are some people who just don’t deserve to share the same air. I hope these two are removed from our midst for many, many years. These are some real sick puppies. There isn’t any ‘fixing’ them, well, nothing short of a lobotomy.

That is some cold-blooded shit. How could a normal person do something like that to a helpless human being? I just don’t understand it. I’m really impressed by the attitude of the parents. That is exactly what I would do if any of my kids ever did something so horrible and stupid. I have told them many times, if they ever get arrested for doing stupid shit, they will sit and rot in jail. I will not spend one penny of my hard-earned money to get them out of jail or to pay for an attorney. Yay for those parents!!! More parents of POS kids should be like that.

get your story straight, the first paragraph is WRONG. Those are the parents of the VICTIM. don’t post something you know nothing about. it just shows your STUPIDITY
God will judge them, not you.

I don’t think it’s really the families siding with the victim. They usually will express condoliances (sp) even if they don’t mean it. This story is different. They went against their own children. I think that’s the great part.

The picture is of the victim’s parents. Bobby and Sheila Clark have become familiar faces here in Cincinnati so I can assure you that they are the parent’s of the tortured girl not Joseph Nagle. You can certainly check this information against any of the videos of these people on channelcincinnati.com

admin - Good call, thanks! Article corrected. Still looking for pictures of Nagle and his girly.

I see what you mean. Well, even if it was the wrong picture, I’m still impressed that the other parents are so supportive and against their OWN children. More parents need to be that way instead of saying, “oh my precious child would never do anything like THAT”. You know?

“…they wanted a car. They didn’t work, they didn’t have any money, but (also) like many youths, they decided that the lack of funding for their dreams wasn’t going to stop them - they were going to steal one.”

This reads as if it is common for youths to steal. Crimes like this have been getting more rare for the last 15 years. It’s a horror story for sure, but the contemptuous attitude is usually found coming from offenders.

You know when I heard about this crime (Was On Glen Beck) i was just about sick. I have seen alot of what youth can do and that most children are far from innocent and a few are just a lost cause. But I think with cases like this they should bring back hard labor. And the profits of that labor should go to the victim or the family of the victim. At least then these two current wastes of skin might just relize how hard the rest of us work just to put the bread on the table. But thanks for putting up this site. At least now there is somewhere that once it’s not a head line the criminals can’t hide anymore.

      On a brighter note….
“Clark had told her father, Bobby Clark: “I am strong. They cannot break my spirit,” Parrett said.

That poignant quote appears in black lettering on pink T-shirts - Ashley Clark’s favorite color. Donated by a local business, the shirts are being given to people who give at least $5 to the Ashley Clark Spirit Fund, Parrett said.”

“Friends, strangers and businesses have already pitched in to replace Ashley Clark’s stolen jewelry, ruined prom dress and music discs. Because her attackers cut off her brown hair, a business also is donating a wig. Other businesses have stepped forward with pledges of a free dinner and a complimentary limousine ride for her and her boyfriend on prom night, May 17. Contributions can be made to the Ashley Clark Spirit Fund at any Fifth Third Bank.”

My bad. It’s hard not to notice that Ashley not only has a boyfriend… but isn’t (as far as we know) pregnant!

That teeny, tiny detail alone speaks a lot about the future for this girl.

As far as KP wanting to know what race her attackers are… WTF? Why would that matter? If you follow any criminal profiling, based on this crime, her attackers were more than likely the same race as the victim. So, what’s your point?

How do you not toss attempted murder charges at these meatsacks? Let’s see…beating? Check. Baseball bat to the head? Check. Begging for one’s life because you’ve just undergone life threatening brain surgery, from which you will likely recover, assuming two complete strangers don’t break into your home and try to bash your brains in for shits and giggles? Check!

Meets my definition of attempted murder.

This is why the DA’s office needs to be apolitical. No more of this crap of DAs only filing charges they know they win.
