Glory- I don't think your posts are boring, although they are sometimes long, they are well written. :) I agree with your ideas about raising your children in an environment where they are open to talk about anything.

I grew up in a very strict Catholic home and my mother never even had a sex talk with me. I remember starting my period at 10 yrs. old and not having a clue what the hell was going on. Then my mother took me the a 'Mother-Daughter Seminar' at a local school that I guess she thought would explain everything for me about the female reproductive system and the logistics of sex, pregnancy, etc. I guess no one ever talked to her about those things b/c she assumed that just like her I would never have sex before marriage. She forbid me to- and that was the end of it....

Until at 13 I decided to have sex. with a 17 yr. old. Yeah, I was pretty much the school whore after that. lol. I had no idea of the consequences of my actions, physically and emotionally. Thankfully I didnt get pregnant and since he totally betrayed me I decided having sex again wasnt worth all the BS.

Many times I wanted to speak to my mother as a friend, a confidant, but she never opened up to me. She had a very authoritative style of parenting and has only recently become 'my friend' after the birth of my son.Dont get me wrong she was a great mother, things could of been a lot worse.
I always felt that I want my children to be able to tell me ANYTHING like you said. I think if more parents were like this than maybe children would be more likely to report abuse, molestation, etc. In this day and age sex is so open and blatant on TV, advertisements, etc. our children cannot help but be exposed to it at an early age. they need to be taught what's normal and whats unacceptable But thats just my 2 cents.

Geez, Penny... angry much?

"Glory-I do realize that the number of people being molested in the world today is very high, and I myself know a few. I don’t broadcast their personal stories over the internet."

Perhaps you should. Preferably without personally naming them, unless they give you permission to.

"Lets say for chance you are being truthful, why dont you use your insight to help people, rather than posting on a stupid site all day?"

Probably because I don't consider this to be a 'stupid site'. And because I think it is helping people when I write about what I have experience with. I like to think once in a while it might educate people who think that abuse should be kept neatly swept under the carpet. I like to think it might encourage someone else to tell their story. I have read, and I respect the personal things that Miwist, Fred, Brittany, Kim... (lordy, I can't name them all!) have written about, and I'm glad they wrote them.

" I know your type, lonely, the computer your only companion, your life consisting of constently checking blogs and emails."

Oh? I think you may not be such a good evaluator of people's lives. I'm not lonely. I would prefer to be having more sex than I am right now, but that's neither here nor there. I do enjoy the internets. It amazes me sometimes that I have so much information and interesting stories at my fingertips. Since I used to read the dictionary when I was little and was sick, that shouldn't be surprising. I have certain interests I follow. These include crime, child-abuse, animal issues, vegetarian issues, physics, cooking, art and literature, among many. Just yesterday I found a cool site that gave directions on how to make a solar oven... and inspired me to try my hand at it. Sad to say I didn't have all the materials needed, and my rice only got half cooked. But last week, my son found a youtube video that showed how to start a fire with a battery and some steel wool. It works. But now I have no steel wool left, and a messy spot in my backyard.
Overall, I think you worry too much about my fondness for the internets, but I thank you for making the effort.

"If your so smart about all of these topics, (and not just copy and pasting facts you’ve searched for on the internet) do something constructive. Help people. "

I am under the impression that when I post on websites I have an interest in, that I am helping people. Whether it's posting here or posting a vegetarian recipe on another blog. There are actually a lot of bloggers who help a lot of people using the cut-and-paste method you look down on.

"This I would think would be the last web sight you’d want to look at all day, if you have seen so much tragedy on a personal level."

Oh? Not sure I get that point. Besides, I've seen all the LOLcats, KittenWars, and water gardening/ponding sites by the time I get here. Fark and Rense provide amusement as well. I am not the kind of person who needs to use escapism or constant entertaining. I actually enjoy using my brain, and reading about some less than shallow stories. That's how I've learned about FGM, HAARP, whale slaughter, and infectious diseases. I don't need smiley faces at the end of each day.

It seems more than likely that you just don't personally enjoy the fact that I post here. You can bring that up with admin, if it really annoys you that much. It would probably be just too easy for me to suggest that when you see my name, you refrain from reading whatever I've blathered on about?
______________

Jason- I am glad that you continue to keep writing about how drunk driving has affected you. I know someone who has not only driven drunk, but who regularly drove WHILE drinking. I really do believe the stats that say for every time someone gets caught, they've driven drunk numerous times before. Not just once.
I personally have not had my life affected by anyone's drunk driving, so I've appreciated reading about how it's affected yours. I absolutely understand why you would make an effort to insert key words about it in anything you write. It's important to you. And, you ARE educating people.
_____________

Kim- WTF? You don't hang on my every word? LOL. I'll check out your myspace.
____________

Meaghan- writing a novel? About what? Do tell.

Discovered she is a 2007 graduate of the College of San Mateo, CA. (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qn4176/is_20070614/ai_n19291676/pg_2). If a yearbook exists, a picture would no doubt exist there. I scoured the CSM website without success.

I have a job but I don't have much to do so I come here and read all sorts of interesting shit. hahaha. Glory has never bored me although I must admit that most of the time I don't read her entire post. I just skim over the good parts and it all seems pretty interesting to me. I'm trying to take up for her in a roundabout way. hahahah. I love Glory's posts. She seems like a very well-adjusted person to me. Of course that could be because I'm not normal as well, but who cares?!? hahah. I have missed y'all because I have actually been a little busier than usual. Here is the link to myspace page if anybody is interested in adding me. www.myspace.com/ok_so_i_am_older. I hope I don't get in trouble for posting that here.

As for this girl crying "wolf", she needed to spend a little more time in jail is my opinion. I hope her hubby divorced her cheatin' ass.
