I would likeother peopls opinion on this thought. It haas been said that the sweetners, artificial ingrediants, and hormones in the foods we eat can cause cancer. Could something enviromentaly be causing such an epidemic of child molesters? I am in no way trying to excuse what any of these assholes have done, but I can’t for the life of me understand how some one could do these types of things. I guess I am just searching for some explanation to why these sick fucks get off on hurting children, and sometimes babys. Has this always been such a problem, and maybe no one knew? I just wish I could fix these people before they had a chance to hurt anyone.

Although a lot of it is more awareness and fewer cover-ups, I personally feel that there may be a few more than before. Our boundaries on what’s acceptable is ever widening (just look at clothing). There are some people that get off on doing something taboo, something unacceptable. With more and more things, or in this case, sexual activities becoming less taboo and more mainstream, what’s left? NOT that this reasoning excuses this in any way, shape, or form. Also, I am not presenting this as fact, just an observation and my opinion.
Personally, I think any child molester / rapist should be taken out back of the courthouse and shot so they quit wasting space.

OK, here we go. I’m pretty sure I’ve read recently that people who are sincerely transgendered actually have the dna or gene structure (the xx/yy and all the variants thing?) that would make ANYONE confused. I seriously wonder if there isn’t a ‘molestor’ gene.

I had a pretty harsh/abusive/neglectful life bouncing between my b-mother and an orphanage/several foster homes, until I was adopted at age 6. At 2 1/2, she choked me until I passed out. At 4, when the courts gave me back to her once again because she was mad that yet another foster family had applied to formally adopt me, I got my left hand stuck and deformed in the courthouse elevator trying to get away from her. (back then the doors dangerously wouldn’t bounce back open when touched).
I waited until my mid-30s to have kids, because I was worried that abuse was genetic. Obviously it’s not. I understand that this POS is just trying to pretend they are mentall ill in order to get away from being punished for the abuse they perpetrated on others, but it makes me mad.
Claiming this abuse shouldn’t be prosecuted because the POS made up some story about being molested by BigFoot, in order to appear insane is just an insult to the victims and their families.
Yeah, being abused fucks you up. And, most normal abused people understand that they have problems because of the abuse. On the other hand, crazy people have no clue why they have problems, and they certainly don’t claim it’s because of any prior abuse….

If you look into the literature surrounding this pathology, you might find one of the most plausible explanations of this behavior is that it is driven by an obsessive/compulsive disorder along with a lack of conscience, associated with a drive to dominate the victim in a crime of opportunity which is often an expression of suppressed violent rage. It is very often seen in those who were victimized at an age when they were either powerless to defend themselves, or were manipulated/coerced to comply and cooperate. How do you fix that? You are truly fortunate. You realize YOU are the only person who can solve your own problems. That seems like a simple statement- but most victims/future perpetrators can’t grasp this. (To summarize-victims seek out smaller, weaker subjects than themselves in order to act out their own fantasies, or to reenact the crimes that were committed against them. I’ve read that before. I don’t understand it. I didn’t like how it made me feel, and I’ve never had any desire to make anyone else feel that way. Maybe I diverted my control issues a different way? Like making sure all the items in my pantry are alphabetical, and the labels face forward? Or buying a house in my 20’s so that nobody could force me to move repeatedly? Who knows?

I am fortunate. I fully understand this. I have managed to not have a single physically abusive relationship as an adult, and I have never abused my own children. I wish I knew why, and that I could figure out how to pass that on to someone else that it could help. But I don’t know why, so I can’t. I just know it’s possible. I think you are right, in that it must have something to do with understanding and embracing the concept that when you are an adult, you are responsible for solving your own problems. For some reason I have never had the problem many abused people have… where they internalize and somehow blame themselves for the abuse. I do understand how lucky I am, and I thank you for pointing it out.

I’ve been using the “Bigfoot” moniker for years on various forums, generally posting tongue-in-cheek bullshit with very little of the serious import my remarks here attempt to address. Much of the previous post is a regurgitation of what I’ve learned in recent psychology classes, but the most honest and heartfelt things I throw out are observations made from a current internship working with abused, at-risk kids. Thank you for your compliments, you probably realize I’m a guy from the attitude and stance I write from. What I’ve directly observed watching some of the more disturbed kids has shown me the OCD thing and the fixations with violence and domination. Please don’t think I mean to infer that wanting to keep your house clean or arrange your cans with the labels so you can read them is a bad thing! I”ve spent countless hours researching child abuse issues and human traficking (My dad was wonderful in many ways, but an abuser and alcoholic, I was always afraid I would repeat his mistakes if I started my own family) and wish it were easier to find ANY answers or solutions, raised one nephew who was a runaway and drug abuser in 1994 when he came to live with me but is now an aerospace engineer and happily married at 29. I graduate from college next year after returning to school at age 48 in 2005 to seek a degree in Humanties/ Social Services. I hope to have a comfortable “working retirement” after giving up truck driving and construction because of age-related physical limits. Also am in the process of adopting one of the less messed up kids I’ve worked with for the last year, a mildly developmentally disabled 10 year old who deserves a break after a miserable life. I feel that after adjusting to my own ADHD problems and family issues I have a good perspective on being able to guide a youngster who has endured much worse than I have. Sorry I ramble so much. Yeah Amy, I think that there is almost a “look” about them. I don’t know how accurate it is, but the things I have noticed are something almost droopy in the eyes, and really “soft” looking lips. I can’t really put my finger on “it” but every once in a while I will see some random guy on the street and think “wow - he looks like a child molestor”.
Unfortunately, non-molesters sometimes look that way too, so it’s not really a viable screening method.
I have noticed the same thing about psychopath/sociopaths too. They look different than kid pervs. There is something “sharp” in their eyes even if they aer not really focusing. And something mean in their lips.
It’s interesting, but like I said, it doesn’t really mean much.
