UPDATE: I asked my friend, who's ex-boyfriend was in OCJ at the time that this happened, if she remembered what it was that set off the guards to make them want the inmate to get beat up by the other inmates, and she said it was because John called one of the guards a "punk bitch". Nothing more.

Another wonderful story of OCJ: I was in a ABC (DUI) class a year ago or so and another girl in the class said when she was in OCJ another woman was having a seizure so they pressed an emergency call button in the cell to get the guards. The guards dragged the woman out and tazed her for a good 5 minutes, because they thought that she was faking it, before they got her some swift inadequate medical attention then threw her back in the cell. The girl in my class sayed that if they knew what was going to happen they never would have called for help because she was better off on her own

I too, live in OC, and had been in OC jail once for 2 weeks. It was horrible; a cell with 35 girls, no personal space....all the girls would make fun of the older ladies and shit like that. Plus, they had meth papers in there too, and would hide them from the guards when we had a "shakedown." They would stay up all night and day, high on meth-laced papers. I got no sleep.

They were supposed to take me to the "farm" with all the "nice " girls (first-time, non-violent nor drug-related misdemeanors like myself) but once they found out I had to be maintained on my Paxil, they put me in that ward with 10+ felons (in that 35+ cell) on their way to prison.

Looking back, i would have rather had been in protective custody, which in the OC jail's case, is a cement bench in an air-conditioned room without blankets or a pillow, then what I went through with those loud-mouthed, meth-addicted "gangstas."

I remember this. In fact I live in OC and my friends ex boyfriend was in OCJ at the time that this happened. Her ex even went to trial for participation in the murder of John Chamberlain. It's kind nice to stumble across this having probably more knowledge of what happened then most people because of my connections. The guards had purposely told other inmates that John was a child molester while fully knowing that he wasn't. I don't remember why they had it in for the guy but they were trying to instigate a fight on John. Obviously they succeeded and that is why they did nothing more than yap on their cell phones and play solitaire on their computers. OCJ is probably one of the worst jails you could go to. I have heard way to many horror story's about the corruption from people who paid a visit.

John Chamberlain had been arrested for possessing child pornography. The inmates mistakenly believed that he was a child molester.

Just to let you know - inmates will find out what you're charged with. Depending on who you're in with, pedophiles may or may not be threatened. The vast majority of inmates just want to do their time and get out.
