You don’t know me. I’m interested in this case from its presentation on this site. I live in Raleigh, NC, can read court cases to my heart’s content, but am not an attorney or member of the court. I’ve contributed a few articles here, but my real profession is as a software developer, and on the side, I’ve been developing a program based off of some skip tracer program that aggregates criminal proceedings, public filings, news filings and police records for websites like this one. I plan on providing the software and its attached back end for free with attribution if it ever works–in other words, I’m currently working on a personal project that I intend making open source that tracks information on accused and convicted criminals as they follow the justice system.

To test this application, I let it track people based off the information Max and other authors on this site submit in these articles. More than merely news alerts, it can aggregate as soon as court records are publicly available. In Derrick’s case, I knew within 10 days when the mistrial was filed, that the prosecution had filed a variety of motions, and that Derrick was being prosecuted for other crimes. I know facts about this case. You seem to know one side of the case, one very personal, very tailored by his defense, and devoid of any acceptance of guilt. Perhaps what you should really do in this case, is consider that Derrick’s case keeps getting worse, every time he breaks his house arrest. Perhaps you should consider that it will be admissible at the next trial. The defense’s case will be weaker.
