Christopher Saint Lucero and Manley Lamont Smith

immigrant crossingIt’s not good when the people you’re hiring to keep illegal immigration from happening turn out to be the people who help make illegal immigration happen.

Christopher Saint Lucero and Manley Lamont Smith, two employees of the Wackenhut Corporation, a private security and investigation firm that was originally created by three former FBI agents way back in the 1950′s, are being accused of offering to smuggle a few illegal immigrants into the country.

    Their price? $2500 each.

    Cheap!

On the 1st of June, 2008, Christopher Saint Lucero had a group of illegal immigrants that the border patrol had picked up in his custody. Christopher Saint Lucero drove the illegals from the Border Patrol’s Chula Vista station in San Diego to the border crossing at Tijuana. Once Christopher Saint Lucero’s batch of illegals was at the border, the Mexican police, who are never ever corrupt, refused to admit two of the illegals into their country, because those two good people identified themselves as Salvadorans and Mexico just doesn’t allow those kinds of people into their country.

Christopher Saint Lucero, sensing an opportunity to get a little bonus cash, took the “Salvadorans” back into his custody and gave them a little proposal, a proposal that a colleague of Saint Lucero’s said Saint Lucero claimed he’d made about 10 times before.

Christopher Saint Lucero told them that he’d get them both to Los Angeles – an illegal immigrant paradise – for the low, low price of $2500 per person. All they had to do was wait for his friend to come, and everything would be OK for everyone.

Unbeknownst to Christopher Saint Lucero, one of the guys claiming to be Salvadoran was an undercover agent, which put a serious hitch in Saint Lucero’s plan to make a little extra cash that month.

Shortly after the enterprising capitalist left, Christopher Saint Lucero’s accomplice, Manley Lamont Smith, met the two “Salvadorans” at the Border Patrol station in a Wackenhut company vehicle and offered to hide them until they could be picked up later and driven to Los Angeles.

The plan was foiled when both men were arrested.

Some serious questions were raised shortly thereafter on behalf of the Federal government. After all, when you pay a company $250 million to help out with the border problem, you expect them to help out with the border problem. You don’t expect them to make the border problem worse.

Wackenhut senior vice president Marc Shapiro immediately went into public-relations mode, explaining to the press that the arrest of Christopher Saint Lucero and Manley Lamont Smith really don’t mean a whole lot when you consider that since Wackenhut won the $250 million contract with the border patrol in 2006, the company’s officers have escorted illegal immigrants back to Mexico more than 1 million times.

    According to Marc Shapiro:

This has to be put in context of those numbers.

The question we’d like to pose is, how many other employees of Wackenhut, or any of the other contracted security firms that we have working in what should be sworn positions, are supplementing their income by doing these kinds of things? The only reason Christopher Saint Lucero and Manley Lamont Smith were even caught was because one of the illegals turned out to be an undercover agent.

How many of those agents are out there?

You can be sure there aren’t all that many. Not nearly enough to put the fear of being caught into other enterprising security employees, anyway.

Christopher Saint Lucero and Manley Lamont Smith are being charged with conspiracy to transport illegal immigrants, which is a felony.

sad story, but i voted no. they didn’t kill anyone, so all they deserve is some solid jailtime and that’d be all for me.

    2. Nissa says:

They deserve an ass beating, but not hell.

Seriously, where’s the ass beating line? I wanna use my whacking stick…

        Whacking stick?
        I want a whacking stick….

Actually, perhaps I should not have one…I am apt to whack random people I see doing stuff I don’t like.

    3. Dee says:

Hell seems a bit like overkill to me.

Maybe a slap on the wrist… maybe.

This just isn’t that huge a deal compared to the lowlife scumbags with which you usually regale us.

    4. Fred says:

Hell for this no, but God may have a different view knowing what other things that these two do.

A kick in the nads for sure!

    5. Trace says:

Hell: Yes (Death penalty: obviously no)

    6. Kenny says:

First time I have seen the no’s outnumber the yes’s. I voted no…I mean…as far as I know, God thinks ‘His’ land is a total free land and anyone that wants to live there has the rights of all humans to do so. It’s man who set the boundries and rules and it’s man to punish these 2…not God and not Hell.

I work for Wackenhut, as a Transport Officer. I can tell you that I have NEVER have been tempted to do what my co-workers decided to do. By far the Officers (at least the ones I know well)are HONEST, and hard working, and have a high degree of integrity. It is not worth risking your integrity, or your reputation. So all of you out there DON’T assume we all fit what you may be thinking. SEMPER FIDELIS!

      • NavyCop says:

Oo-freakin’-Rah, Baby! Oo-freakin’-Rah! Although I think Wackenhut should go to hell for hiring those two morons

    8. TurtleMania says:

Oh my! What to do with these bad boys?
If we can’t send them to hell, we have to make it worth the while.
I suggest we run over them a few times like they do in Hartford, Conn.
Then every onlooker gets to pee on them and shovel horse chunks on top of them.
      That will do.

    10. Meaghan says:

I don’t see what’s so hell-worthy about this. So they’re corrupt and dishonest. Fire them from their jobs and hang that criminal conviction around their neck. But it’s not like they killed anyone, or beat a child with a hot iron and left permanent scarring, or raped a baby, like many of the other fine citizens profiled on PYSIH.

admin – Not all the people featured here on PYSIH.com are going to be hell-worthy. Some just come close, or some people might think, due to their own perspectives, that some crimes are more worthy than others. That’s why we vote.

      • Miwist says:

I think Admin is trying to stir up the pot a bit. What we need here is a good ol’ fashioned anti-Mexican rant – sooo – here goes – They can go to hell for allowing non-europeans to enter our sacred country. Send those damned El Salvadoreans back to Mexico where they can’t take our jobs and wreak havoc in the ghettos and take our wives and shit. Damned brown skinned devils. They suck.

    11. bored says:

Honestly I dont know about the main guy involved…. but I do know Manley…. and I can honestly say that there’s no way anyone would say anything negative about him….. I mean, his best friend is his pastor mother who sends him prayers for texts, he doesnt drink (never had one in his life) and doesnt even swear for Chr**ts sake… seriously…. when he gets upset at someone, he uses the word Freak instead of its uglier alternative, and calls his mama just so she can bless his ears with her words….. i HIGhlY doubt he would intentionally involve himself in any sort of illegal activity, unless he was deceived and lied to about the situation, in order to gain his cooperation….. Ive known him for awhile now, and have rarely seen someone with as much integrity

      • Max The Cat says:

Hmmm…Well, according to the Statement of Probable Cause, Manley Lamont Smith was at least as much involved in this scheme as Christopher Saint Lucero. He was the one who met the undercover agents and offered to hide them until he and Lucero could smuggle them into L.A.

Everything else you’ve said about his pastor mother and the rest is just pure BS.

        • bored says:

wow max the cat…. are you psychic? How did you know I only wasted three minutes of my time just so I could write stuff thats BS? Psychic, apparently. I mean obviously if I was going to waste my time writing BS, there’s nothing better than a story about him talking to his mother whose faith inspires him on a daily basis. What better story could I come up with? I mean I coulda said something like he is a saint who saves dying children and animals, and donates all his money to the homeless…… no your right….. the bs about his mother is better

          • Max The Cat says:

Who needs to be psychic to deal with a fool like you bored? Nothing you said had anything to do with whether or not Christopher Saint Lucero committed the crime he’s accused of. That’s what makes it bullshit. There’s other terms for it. Smoke screen, misdirection – call it what you want but it all adds up to shit in a court of law. I’m very happy to hear that Chris loves his mommy and doesn’t have a potty mouth, unlike, say me for instance, but on the other hand, I’ve never taken a fucking bribe, so I guess we’re even. What I’d like to know is how that adds up to his innocence. Wait, I know – If I only knew Chris like you did, I’d see that he could NEVER commit a crime like this. Tell his lawyer to try that out on the judge and jury and see how far that get him.

            !ring-ring!

            !ring-ring!

Hang on a sec bored, I need to take this call….

Hello….What’s that, taking a bribe is much worse than cussing? Well I’ll be fucked!

            • KAS says:

I don’t think you read the response from bored correctly. If you did you will see that they were talking about Manley and not Christopher. I too know Manley and have for the past 24 years and I know that he is man with extreme integrity. If he was caught up in this mess is was by deception on the part of his supervisor Christopher. Unless you were there to know what really happened you can’t judge. The last time I checked God was the final judge. I’m sure Christopher is doing time while Manley is not. How is that for justice.
