I've been working on a translation of what you said into common English, but I wanted to list out the core concepts you believe in and are trying to discuss, in simple sentences your translator should be able to handle.
1. You don't like and disagree vehemently with this article.
2. You believe we're all coming from a position of ethnocentrism that fails to assess the actual Gambian perspective on these matters.
3. You do not believe that Gambia's limitations on free speech are unfair or cruel because you believe that there are bad forms of free speech and that there are limitations on free speech
4. You repeatedly use the word lie to refer to Journalists who have reported on your leader and country, as well as this specific set of actions by your leader, claim we're failing to see reality and that we've been badly misinformed.
5. You give several notes claiming we have an ulterior motive as do the journalists who libeled your country.
6. You and others like your leader and what he's doing.

Is that about the sum of it?
Well, "allow me to retort."
1. Please provide some sort of documentation that the article is wrong.
2. It's a great big world, and I am only a single little animal walking, talking and typing on it. My purpose in pointing to something that is wrong and tell you it's wrong, is to get you to fix it. If you can't take constructive criticism, then you can wallow in poverty and despair when Jameh is done persecuting Gay men and comes for your soon to be sorry ass. And he will. He'll self-destruct and turn on his allies when he runs out of easy targets. The pattern is pretty common among dictators.
3. Some speech is freer than others. Your speech is less free than mine. The most powerful speech is not free speech, but speech that is provocative, intelligent, coherent and well placed in both time and space to make a difference. Free speech is designed to give you practice, exercising your rights and to remove any barriers that might prevent the right person from saying the right words at the right time, regardless of when the wrong person, says the wrong words, at the wrong time.

4. Put up or shut up. How's that for free speech?

5. Let me make a clear statement. I don't care about your country. I care about people. I don't care much about Gambia, her tribes or even her history, BUT I care about the people who are Gambians.
My Ulterior motive is that no nation on Earth has failed to provide some person of worth or merit. There are good people from every nation. Some of these good people, are worthy to be called great people. These great people sometimes excel and provide exceptionalism as a gift from what I can only describe as their spirit. Someone I know from Gambia is one of those Exceptional people, and I'd trade a thousand Jamehs for her any day. Jameh is persecuting a people, a culture and a population that's probably 10% of Gambia's population. On top of that, he's belittling and obscuring the actual treatment that is trying to combat HIV, through a power grab. That plague is killing too many Gambians and Africans in general. Stop hurting your country and the human race, and stop this madman before more people get infected and die. We need more exceptional people from Gambia.

6. Your leader is a poopy head.

What do I know? What can I touch? What can I observe?

I can write an abstract class that roughs in some methods, overrides another and can be used by a few others to help move my project along. I did that this morning.

I can read a book, research a topic, know the "life cycle" of HIV and understand that the compass by which these diseases are actually treated, requires more than the randomness of the false claims of dictator. Polio was not cured by a medicine man clinging to a rifle, in order to continue to be a dictator. Malaria is being eradicated by a rich man who made his money writing software, a one-term American president and 20,000 other like minds, who apply methods that work in the face of methods that do not. They're not slaughtering albinos for their feet and supposed magical powers, raping virgins or grinding rhino horn into a laxative to cure HIV. These methods have been tried and they failed.

I am no more a "full" than I am foolish for believing Jameh's supporters should work harder to educate themselves and thus liberate themselves from the very heart of darkness Conrad imagined. This is foolishness that kills, and that makes it both criminal and drives those who observe it to ridicule the people who support it.

In simple words, it makes me more likely to point at you and call you a monster.

i have read almost all the coments and have seen the points that they are taking there point to some of the comentors speak out of common sense, the person who wrote and put this pic and commens on our president most are lies and truth which our president is right on his decision ,you cannot know gambia better then the gambian staying in the gambia ,you cannot know how we should live better than we the gambians infact how can u be staying overseas and know exactly what is hapening in the gambia better than those staying there, except that basing on those lies and fakes informations from bad people and political leaders woh are not interested in the developement of our country but money ,and they are being hired for money to publish non truth and words which are really illogical , some say we are ignorant that why we cannot see his fault and wrongs that he is doing,if that is so how many people in the gambia are supporting him and how many people like him almost 80 persent of the country like him why this 80 persent if he is maltreating the people of the gambia or you want to say that all this 80 persent are ignorant ,we dont know what is right or wrong,in leadership certain things should not be telorated as a leader you should first concider your people first before any thing, and that what he is doing and that what he said he is not going to compromised on any one who is going to japidise the gambians and any thing which is going to harm our life as he is the leader to make sure that we are save and living in a good life.

Knowing the difference between right and wrong is not to have a "huge ego". It simply means one has a conscience. People cannot help whom they fall in love with. If that happens to be a person of the same sex..who are you to decide it's right or wrong? In the end that decision is left up to God and only God. Your president has no right to dictate the personal relationships of those who reside in your country. That is not freedom. He is very much a dictator...and perhaps you are blinded by your own bigotry and ignorance.

You are a fool. How can you say he is bad but you like him because you like money? People like you make us Gambians to look bad. Most Gambians are not like you and most vote Jammeh for the progress he is making in our country and not for our own personal progress.
