I had not heard of it before but looking it did not give me a sick cult impression, just another philosophy like many others. The ppl involved here were just sick/demented. And I feel bad for the kids... I don't think people really understand how much it will affect them and how their lives will most likely turn into another hell - at the least, they will never be well adjusted as long as they remember what happened, but I hope they are young enough to be able to lead productive lives without too much influence. If a certain philosophy that is not advocating harm - only self exploration or a path - helps someone explore themselves and helps in finding themselves as long as it does not incite them to abuse children, rape, infringe on others rights to believe what they choose or harms them etc. it is not wrong... did you find anything in the teachings of this movement that claimed that ppl should torture children, eat flesh, etc.?
