Lisa Ann Casteel
On the 17th of May, 2008, 56-year-old grandmother, Mary Jane Donn, was enjoying the weather and her family, sitting on a plastic chair that had been placed on the driveway of the house that she and several other family members were gathered at.
It was a nice Saturday. The birds were chirping, the air was fresh and 40-year-old Lisa Ann Casteel, daughter of Mary Jane Donn, was in her Chevy Blazer, along with one of her children.
Lisa Ann Casteel had been drinking a little bit.
Being slightly intoxicated could possibly have been the reason why she thought her SUV was in “drive” instead of “reverse.”
Inebriation was the reason that Lisa Ann Casteel backed the Chevy Blazer over her mother.
After feeling the impact, and dragging her mother a few feet, Lisa Casteel stopped the vehicle and got out to see what had happened.
It was an awkward moment for everyone, and it was only made worse for Ms. Casteel when her relatives started shouting, “You killed Grandma!” at her.
Fortunately, Lisa Casteel knows CPR, a fact that she immediately announced as she got to her knees and examined the woman who had given birth to her 40 years ago.
After a quick examination, Lisa announced to everyone:
It’s ok. She’s still breathing. She doesn’t need CPR.
Leaving her mother on the driveway, Lisa Ann Casteel got back into the Chevy Blazer and drove off, despite the fact that her niece and several other family members were insisting that Grandma was not OK, that they had seen Grandma go under the car.
Authorities were called. Mary Jane Donn was rushed to the local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Police began to look for Lisa Casteel, who obligingly returned to the house in her Chevy Blazer a short time later.
Noticing the police cars, Lisa Casteel tried to turn around and leave the area, but a deputy blocked her in with his squad car.
Ms. Casteel agreed to go with the nice sheriffs to the station to take a blood alcohol test, despite being told that she was not under arrest. According to officers, Lisa mentioned several times that she would fail the test.
She did, of course, with a score of 0.243 – about three times the legal driving limit.
Lisa Ann Casteel was charged with negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated. She paid a $3000 bond, and is expected to show up for her first court date on the 8th of July, 2008.

Doing the math, Mary had Lisa at 16, I wonder how often that family produces a generation….
Seems Lisa is already getting off light, $3,000 for killing someone, even if it was an “accident”….

“Doing the math, Mary had Lisa at 16, I wonder how often that family produces a generation….”
Hopefully, not as fast as they take out a generation. Given enough time, the math will catch up with them and they’ll eliminate themselves from the face of the Earth.
fantastic!
Maybe Not Hell, Just Alcoholics Anonymous. And a Severe Beating. (Or Being Run Over herself)
She did, of course, with a high score of 0.243 percent.
It’s a BAC of 0.243, which is close to, but not quite a percentage–a slightly more erudite formula used to determine Blood Alcohol level is used than merely x/y * 100 = percent.
admin – Dammit! Editing error. Fixed. Thanks.
Hopefully she never sobered up and realized that the “lawn ornament” she thought she ran over was actually the woman that brought her into this alcohol abundant world.
Did anyone stop to think that she had one of her own children in the vehicle with her? From experience, even when you’re so “plastered” that you THINK you can drive, you know you can’t and that you’re endangering other people’s lives if you do. Anyone that simply HAS a brain would never have their own flesh and blood (let alone, ANYONE) in a vehicle with them while they’re in that state.
Another thing…it says she was at family event, so why did none of this family of hers (you know the people that are supposed to care for you and your well being the most) tell her to get her drunk ass out of that vehicle, or just take the keys away from her?
Sheer ignorance. They should all be punished for ALLOWING her to drive when they knew she was that intoxicated. Let’s call it assisting in the act of DUI, shall we?
THANK YOU! I have no need now for my own message, considering you just said EXACTLY what I was thinking…….I bet that family tree is like a bowl o’spaghetti.
I wondered why she wasn’t charged with child endangerment or something.
not hell-worthy if you ask me, i’m quite sure she didn’t mean to run over her own mother, killing her in the process…..
she’ll get plenty of hell on earth for this.
ordinarily i’d say not hell worthy. but in this case- since she didn’t stop to help, drove away after the fact, then tried to run when she saw the cops- she needs to burn.
mean it or not…you got behind the wheel of a vehicle drunk and you are directly responsible for a persons death. You have taken the life of another human and deserve hell.
Classic example why inbreeding is against the law.
Maybe she didn’t care much that she ran over her mom because she was her sister too?
Oh man that is some good shit. Had me almost crying with laughter. I can imagine the scene…
Vroom! *CRUNCH* drag splat drag splat drag splat….
“Fuck what was that? Oh, it’s just Mom playing her pesky games and trying to slow me down by having her skull crushed under my tyres… Good one Mom!!”
*Drags mothers corpse onto lawn, laughs and gets back in car*
“Time to head home for another vat of scotch methinks, then beat the shit out of the kids… Hey what’s with all the cops?”
A little later…
“Three large just for brutally crushing my own mother to death? What a bunch of shit! That’s me fuckin’ beer money you bastards!”
You kill Grandma, you go to hell.
Psst. Hey, just a few exceptions.
Feel free to run over grandma Olga Rutterschmidt and grandma Helen Golay.
You won’t go to hell and you’ll surely get your wings.
“I bet that family tree is like a bowl o’spaghetti.” NOW that’s funny :)

*****Well, that was fun, and it’s a blast to laugh at idiots like this. I’ll be the first to admit it. But this really isn’t a joking matter at all. In fact this is absolutely the most preventable and under prosecuted tragedy in our society. Take a look at the 11:00 news and your morning newspaper. You see drunks driving the wrong way in interstates, running down our children and murdering their very own loved ones.
We need prosecutors with the balls to really look at the crime and see it for what it is. We need to quit calling these accidents, an accident is something that happens without intent and really has no fault. These are not accidents, they have fault and they are 100% preventable.
All states with Capital Murder have the law written that if you cause the death of another individual during the commission of a crime, regardless of whether you intended to cause the death or injury or not to that person, you are guilty of Capital Murder and it is punishable by death.
Instead, we have prosecutors with no balls who would rather let these POS’s walk free after 30 days in jail and a couple thousand in fines. WTF is up with this? She killed her mother, the person who brought her into this world, the womb she lived in for 40 weeks, the breast she gained her first meal from, the hands that patched up her scraped knees, the lips that kissed away the tears, the arms that tucked her in and the heart that loved her unconditionally.
What does she do for this amazing person in return? Oh mom, it’s just a scratch. Quit playing around and get up. By the way, you owe me for a new lawn chair, that one was my favorite.
She left and returned, to try and run from the cops when she got back. She had her wits about her enough to know to try and avoid the cops when she saw them, she tried to run form them. Yet she will probably argue she didn’t know what she was doing and it was in accident.
Well Lisa Ann, why don’t you sit in this chair right here. Yep, it’s a brand new lawn chair for the one your momma made you run over. That’s it, aw look. It’s got these here nice straps to make sure you don’t fall and spill your drink. That’s it, fasten real snug. That’s a good girl. Oh, a nice neat little hat too. That’s it, you look like a princess in your new chair. Now you just sit there and enjoy your drink, I gonna go turn on the chair massager for ya. There, how’s that Lisa Ann.
IT’S ELECTRIC!!!
to the people who say “no, she will beat herself up enough for killing her own mom”… you know that if it had been SOMEONE ELSE’s mom, child or loved one, you’d be calling for her blood.
i don’t see how her irresponsible act harming her own kin makes it excusable.
The stupid cow deserves all she gets. That it was her mother just makes it all the worse. She had no regard for anyone, not even her own family. She put her dughters life in danger by driving under the influence and what about the others on the road that day. What if she had injured or killed someone else?
I hope she does beat herself up every day, i hope the other inmates beat her up every day too.
That’s just crazy! Why would they let her drive in the first place, she was obviously WASTED! I could never imagine gettin so drunk that I wouldn’t be able to realize that I killed my mother! One ticket to hell for Miss Lisa Ann:)
And she had her daughter in the car with her at the time?
Ive made some mistakes as a parent, we all do, and my judgement is not always 100%, but i would never, ever, ever, attempt to drive after having a few drinks. i would definately never do so with my child in the vehicle.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. And your right…why didnt her family stop her from getting in the car in the first place?
