This is 47-year-old Glenn Chang, who was recently a devoted FedEx worker.
Glenn Chang is a big, strong man who won’t take crap from anybody, including his 3-year-old son.
On the 1st of July, 2008, Glenn Chang’s son said or did the wrong thing, and Glenn became a mite bit upset about it.
To enforce discipline, Glenn Chang grabbed a paint stirring stick and some tape. After taping his son down enough so that he couldn’t move, Glenn Chang laid into the boy.
While his 43-year-old wife, Tanya Chang watched, Glenn hit his son over and over on the left side of his face, on the kid’s left arm and on his right shoulder. When the beating was over, there was a swollen red, black and blue mark on the left side of the boy’s face that stretched from the bottom of his left eye to the bottom of the left cheek, along with a hugely swollen arm and several cuts on the boy’s shoulder - which was turning several shades of black and blue.
Tanya Chang, an employee of a non-profit health care organization, saw the damage her husband had inflicted on their boy but decided not to do anything about it. It’s not like he’d need medical care or anything, you know? A few band-aids here and there, maybe a Tylenol, and he’ll be fine.
Right?
Well, someone outside the family noticed the damage that had been done to the lad and called the authorities. Police arrived, took one look at the boy and demanded some answers, which they got when Glenn Chang freely admitted to beating the boy six times.
Glenn Chang’s six-year-old daughter was helpful enough to point out that her dad had taped her brother down so that the boy couldn’t squirm out of the line of fire and the beating would have the maximum efficiency.
Glenn Chang was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse. For watching her husband beat the hell out of their son and doing nothing, Tanya Chang was arrested and charged with child neglect.
Both the couple’s 3-year-old son and their 6-year-old daughter were taken from the Chang home and placed in foster care.

I was wondering. In a side-by-side comparison: Mr Chang, who is yellow by ethnicticity, or Mr GDRHammer , who is yellow by nature, whose hue is more natural? What this idiot did is a little thing called “torture.” The child could have died and he will carry permanent emotional scars as a result of this cruel act. As infuriating as 3-year-olds can be, there is no excuse for beating one like that! Or tying them down while doing it! What a cowardly way to handle something. The guy sounds like a big bully.
And shame on the mother for standing there and doing nothing. You know, a thought just came to mind: along with “Mother of the Year” and “Father of the Year,” there should be a “Worst Mother of the Year” and “Worst Father of the Year” contest. I’d nominate these two “winners” in a heartbeat. They didn’t kill their innocent child, so they’d probably only get a dishonorable mention. But still.

Well, got some news for you all, I agree the story you’ve read is horrible and anyone who does that should get what he deserves. BUT… it did not happen the way it was reported, no beating, no tape, wife did not watch cuz’ she was at work. The media took a small regular spanking, turned it into something that never happened. I know Glenn Chang and talked to the family. You’ve all been lied to and so was I. I remember what my mother told me once, don’t believe the media, half of the story they report is lies and the other half is usually not true.

As much as I want to hang child molesters by their nuts, there is very little in this world that is more despicable than a do-gooder railroading an innocent person by brainwashing children.
If the daughter’s accusation came freely to the police officers, and not after a few hours of intensive “therapy” then I am more apt to believe it. Otherwise, it’s highly suspect.
Regardless, a grown man beating a three year old “six times” as he admitted - to the point that there are bruises? That is abusive, no matter how you look at it.

i agree with you Mazzi, I hate molester’s and abuser’s too. And yes, this was the work of an over zealous social worker picking her own child up at the same day care, not an employee of the day care. But, there were no bruises, at least what they were looking at were not bruising, they saw 2 spot on the child, his buttock and bottom of the foot on the right side. The so-called spot are know as “Mongoloid Spots” very common in infants and children of that age from Asian descent, which this family is Chinese.

Davis, I know you know the family - but something does not ring “right” about the version that you have been told.
Maybe Chang did not attack the baby quite as viciously as the original article was reported, but even the most do-gooding busybody would have had to see some kinds of bruises or injuries to report.
Parents have the right to discipline their children. Although I never hit my kid, I can understand why some parents do. But a swat on the rear is about the max that is appropriate. I find it hard to imagine that the report that Chang “freely admitted to beating the boy 6 times”, was just pulled from thin air.
So, my guess is - at the least, Chang went way overboard in disciplining a baby. At the most, he is a demented monster. The truth probably lies somewhere in between.

Yes, 6 times was “just pulled out of the air” and they did not look at the child’s buttock at the day care, they notice the scratch on his wrist and above the eye when the child blocked the swat. So, go ahead, believe what you want, to get hits on your website, I won’t be back to check on you anymore. The truth will come out in court, but till then, this poor family will be dragged through the mud and rung through the ringer before it is all said and done.
