In a world where people are fighting to equalize racial rights, in a world where African-Americans have to fight every day to keep every square inch of territory they’ve gained since 1865, Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, on the 7th of July, 2008, showed how the man really feels about blacks in America.
How dare you, Kenneth Mayfield, you white devil?
How can you, an elected official, justify your outrageous and egregious comments?
How can you expect to remain in office, expect to remain in government, after uttering racial slurs - with television camera rolling?
During a special meeting about Dallas County traffic ticket collections, Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield took the opportunity to take a cheap shot at African-Americans.
While the assembled county commissioners were talking about problems with the Dallas County central collections office, Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield jumped in and stated that, to him, the central collections office seemed to have become a black hole - because there have been many recent incidents where paperwork has been lost while in that office.
Black hole?
Black hole?
Oh, no you didn’t just say that, Mr. County Commissioner!
Why would you refer to a non-functioning government office as a black hole? Why do we always have to bring race into it?
But he said it, he meant it, and the comparison was made.
Fortunately for the citizens of Dallas County, Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price was in the room. After hearing the racial slur, as clear as day, Commissioner Price jumped up and interrupted Commissioner Whitey with a loud, “Excuse me.” Commissioner Price kindly pointed out that the central collections office had become a “white hole.”
Oh SNAP!
Judge Thomas Jones quickly jumped in to help his brother by a different mother, demanding an apology from Commissioner Mayfield, who was just sitting there with a stupid, blank, white look on his face.
Commissioner Mayfield tried to come back with some weak explanation that “black hole” was just a figure of speech and a scientific term.
Sure it is, Mayfield. You were just sitting there, thinking white thoughts, when “black hole” jumped right into your white little head. It’s people like you who make words like “niggardly” possible.
Other county officials jumped in to break up the tense confrontation and bring the focus of the meeting back where it should be - on government financially screwing as many citizens as possible, regardless of race.
Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who, before he goes to sleep at night, probably thinks about cutting Barack Obama’s nuts off, will not face charges for his statement.
But he should.

I disagree with this one; a black hole is an entity where matter gets sucked in and never comes out. I think that’s what he was referring to with the loss of paperwork. He wasn’t making a racial slur; he was using an analogy that happened to use the word black. This is a perfect example of over-sensitivity. It’s seems to me that it’s becoming illegal for a white person to say the word ‘black’ no matter what it’s context. BS to me.

I totally agree. Calling anything “black” in a negative manner, is always a racial slur. In fact, the word black should be removed from the dictionary. It is a derogatory term!

Black hole is Scientific, and perhaps some of you should Google it and the metaphor will come to light (of course I mean NO offense to the “whites” by referring to “light”) Get a freaking life!! As a Hispanic, woman no less, I am so tired of this race card that is played over and over and over. Has anyone ever stopped to think about the devisive nature of our country today? We have the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Black Chamber of Commerce and recently in San Antonio I noticed the Hispanic Advertising Agency. If the table were reversed and we had the White Chamber of Commerce or the Anglo Advertising Agency people would be up in arms. Get a life, education and grip on the current world we live in. Do not waste your energy on what other haters want you to participate in for their own agenda. Use your great mind to unite this country for the better of all here in the present and those of the future (including your offspring). STOP DEVISIVE ACTIONS NOW!!

For those that have not received a basic education, it is called a black hole because the gravitational pull is so strong that not even light can escape, resulting in darkness. I know Amy. It’s like, where does it stop? Do the Kindergarten kids still get coloring books or book you rub crayons on? Are they still allowed to teach kids to cross the street at the green light, and stop at the red, or do they really want to risk offending our Native American brothers.
