David Grady
This is 23-year-old David Grady – the little molester that couldn’t.
In 2003, David Grady was wandering the streets of Lincoln, Nebraska. Specifically, he was wandering the streets around an elementary school. Even more specifically, David was wandering the streets around an elementary school right about the time that school let out.
Eventually, David Grady found what he was looking for – a 10-year-old girl.
While Mr. Grady was able to take the girl by the hand and drag the 10-year-old to a secluded utility shed, he wasn’t quite able to do anything once he got the girl there. Before he could work up his nerve, David Grady was scared off by something and left the scene.
While David Grady did leave the scene, Lincoln police managed to catch up to him, the little girl identified him, and he was charged with false imprisonment and terroristic threats. Found guilty of both charges, David was sentenced to 6 to 10 years in the state penitentiary, with his time starting in December of 2003.
David Grady was released from prison as a free man on the 13th of May, 2008.
At about 10 in the evening, on the 28th of July, 2008, a 25-year-old woman noticed a man standing on her front porch, looking into her window at her. Surprisingly, this wasn’t an especially sexy moment for her, and she went outside to confront the peeper.
After asking him what exactly he thought he was doing, the man – who turned out to be none other than David Grady – told her that he was lost and looking for a street a block over.
The woman didn’t buy it, and neither did the cops, who arrived on the scene about 15 minutes after the woman went back into her house and called 911. David Grady was easy for the cops to find, because he was still looking at the same house, only this time he was across the street and kind of crouched down.
He really liked that house.
He should have chosen a better excuse, especially since he lived only a block away from this woman.
David Grady was arrested and charged with trespassing, for which he will receive a slap on the wrist. You have to wonder what might have happened had David gotten up the courage to do what he obviously wanted to do. If only more sexual offenders were pathetic, weasel-like geeks, like David Grady, there might be a little less tragedy in the world.
Maybe.
So many sexual offenders are caught late in their careers, especially child molesters. Usually after molesting countless children, the child molester slips up somehow. Their victim gets older, they choose the wrong victim, they let their guard down – and they get caught.
David Grady is a sexual offender waiting to happen. He is a child molester waiting to happen. He is a rapist waiting to happen.
We, of course, will just let it happen. And then we’ll probably let it happen again. And then again. Over and over until David Grady finally gets the nerve or the desperation up enough to kill his victim to cover up his crime and avoid going to prison again.

I am the cousin to David Grady and his mother. I don’t pretend to know everything David has or has not done and nor do I condone what he has alledgedly done. I do know he has a family and there are people who love him despite his flaws. It is not your job to throw stones or cast judgement. God is our punisher and the one who does ALL judging. While you all sit here speaking ill of someone like you have never done anything wrong you hurt the ones who are trying to deal with this in their own way. It is hard enough for the families and you just add to the pain. I don’t care what any of you say, you are not perfect either. Besides, all humans are capable of crimes, including the most heinous ones, if the circumstances are right (or rather wrong) for it. So here we are now – a full circle of another “good idea gone stupid”. While it is true that SOME people who might have been institutionalized are actually able to remain out of hospitals sucessfully, we have the corresponding problem of people who SHOULD be hospitalized, out wandering the streets.
And not a damned thing can be done about it, because our power-sucking courts have spoken. They will not reverse their decisions unless (possibly) there is a huge public outcry about it. But the people of the US have had that kind of passion bred (trained? indoctrinated?) right out of them. Too few people are willing to take a stand and push reform to the front.
So, accept it – we are all just sitting ducks, waiting for our turn to be victimized. I plan on taking my guy out though, when he comes for me. He is not going to get away easy, and he will WISH he had been locked up in a looney bin.

Pedophilia is not actually so much a sexual dysfunction as it is an obsession. And obsessive disorders are among the hardest to treat.
When I said “cure” it was mean in a ‘quick and dirty’ way. It cannot be cured in the tradiotional way, at all.
BUT – offenders who recognize the problem, and who WANT to get help, can be taught to identify the triggers that cause the obsession, can be taught ways to distract their thought processes and can learn to not take action on their desires.
It’s kind of like having an unloaded handgun vs. a loaded one. An unloaded gun is still a dangerous weapons, but can’t cause much damage till it’s loaded. The sex offender may never be able to stop the desire (unloaded) but can learn to not take action (loaded).
It is 100% correct that no treatment will be effective if the offender does not make the conscious effort and desire for treatment. So, basically – once they are sitting in jail, it’s too late. The only reason those guys are in treatment is to try and get out sooner, and there is not a snowball’s chance in hell that it will work.
But, assuming that David/Paris made a single mistake (only counting the kidnapping – not the peeping), and has been punished for it, it is actually possible that he could effectively be treated.
The biggest stumbling block is that it is fucking HARD to make those changes. It takes a LOT of willpower and backbone, which is usually something that is lacking in the offenders, especially ones who have been hurt and damaged their whole lives.
I don’t know any recovered pedos. But I have studied this to a small degree, and I know that there are no-bullshit websites that discuss this issue. That’s the best I can do. LOL

There is this thing about modern day relativists calling themselves Christians…, ignorant about the history and theology of Christianity.

Well Joubert would sit in his cell drawing dead tied up boys slashed to death and even pleaded with the FBI for crime scene photos of his art work for jerk off material. He had the audacity, 16 years after his death sentance to mouth the words “I love you” to his effed up girlfriend in front of victims familys when he was being taken to the chair.
He is in hell. That is not judging, that is not ignoring my own faults, that is just intelligent discernment based on proper Christian formation.

Actually Mr. Tito I have been the victim several times as a matter of fact, and it is possible to work through your emotions and be able to forgive the person that violated you. As well my son has been a victim of a pediphile as well, and I can still find forgiveness in my heart. The legal system is a pile of shit, but when it does work, as it is now with David, we should stand behind it and fully encourage them to punish completely. 5 years is nothing. He will do 2.5 and be back out on the streets looking for another cheap thrill, but that is 2.5 years that your children will be safe, assuming he is actually convicted.

Ya know, the legal system is a pile of shit, but sometimes you have to use the worst smelling soap to clean up the worst kind of mess–can you tell I cleaned my stove today? The legal system rarely chooses to act on reports about child abuse, sexual or otherwise – I am speaking as a victim who had reported the crimes to a case worker and the police as well =( Hell, there were even witnesses to several of the reported crimes… but not a single charge was filed.
May I suggest a very good civil suit? If one aspect of the law won’t protect you, get the other aspect to pay for the therapy you’ll need to get over it.
