This is 28-year-old Hong “Coco” Tang.
Hong Tang is a businesswoman who was doing very well for herself, making well over a million dollars a year.
Through her diligent efforts at merchandising, Hong Tang has a nice $350,000 house in Denver that she owns free and clear.
Hong Tang owns two cars, a 2006 Toyota Corolla and a 2007 Honda CRV - which are both paid off.
Yes, business is good for Ms. Tang and you know, if it wasn’t for the fact that Hong Tang has been arrested on suspicion of prostitution-related crimes every year since 2004, she might even have been a Denver Better Business Bureau charter member.
Hong Tang was the madam and owner of an escort service in Denver known as “Denver Sexy.” When you’ve got the goods that people want, you don’t need a cool name. Hong Tang advertised her wares on several websites as well as in a few alternative weekly magazines in the Denver area.
While it would be immediately obvious as to what business Hong Tang was operating to anyone of even mediocre intelligence, police never really looked that deeply into Ms. Tang’s business until a neighbor of hers reported that the hours Ms. Tang was keeping were a tad bit suspicious.
And that’s really the downfall for so many whores nowadays. They make a lot of money and they don’t want to live in the ghetto anymore so they move into a high-priced residential neighborhood - and then they get all the nosy neighbors who don’t want to live next to a whorehouse.
After two years of investigation into her business, police arrested Hong Tang and her business partner, 44-year-old Todd Allen Powell, on the 8th of August, 2008.
According to documents filed by investigators, Hong Tang’s Denver Sexy charged clients between $300 to $350 an hour to engage in sexual activity with a wide variety of females that Hong flew in from around the country.
While this isn’t hell-worthy, the fact that Hong Tang actively sought teenage girls to employ is.
Despite the fact that there is demand for teenage booty in certain segments of the population, it’s really not right to sell it.
Between October of 2005 and November of 2006, one of the prostitutes working for Hong Tang’s Denver Sexy was a 16-year-old girl. The girl, who was caught by police and convinced to inform on the ring, described performing hundreds of sexual acts with many, many different men while working for Hong Tang.
Before the girl was sent to one of the more than 450 hotel rooms that Ms. Tang rented between January of 2006 and March of 2008, “Coco” would take the client’s money and hand over some condoms.
The girls were given their share of the money after they performed.
While vice unit detectives were arresting Hong Tang at her home, a thorough search of the rest of her house revealed more than $30,000 in cash and computers that were used for business purposes. Several thousand condoms and large quantities of sexual lubricants were also confiscated.
Hong Tang’s cars and house have been seized and will receive a thorough cleaning.
Authorities also discovered a number of bank accounts that Hong Tang used, including one containing more than $316,000.
Hong Tang has been charged with nine felony counts that include pimping, pimping of a child and keeping a place of prostitution.
Todd Allen Powell has been charged with pimping, conspiracy and several other offenses relating to prostitution.

You know - I have a hard time saying “hell” for this woman. I don’t have as much against prostitution as I do about people abusing vulnerable people.

A) Tax the pimps
B) Tax the prostitutes
C) Make sure the prostitutes get proper medical care

If one hooker was sixteen then I guess Hong needs hell. But if the sixteen year old had fake ID and claimed to be legal age, then Hong just need jail.
Because, no matter how stupid the law is, the fact remains that prostitution is illegal. Pimping is illegal. And pimping sixteen year olds is illegal AND immoral.
Hong knew that. Hong also took advantage of the fact that SHE didn’t have to pay income tax on the high fees she charged, effectively doubling her income.
Throw the book at Hong - let her pay all of her ill-gotten profits to attorneys (who will pay at least a little income tax), give her some jail time - then set her back out on the street with nothing. That’s justice.
