29-year-old year old Sarah Jo Pender is not the type of girl you’d want to take home to mom.
Sarah Pender and her former boyfriend Richard Hull Jr., were convicted in 2002 of killing their roommates Tricia Nordman and Andrew Cataldi by blowing them away with a shotgun. The now ex-roommates were then stuffed into trash bins and left to rot before they were discovered a short time before they could be taken to the dump.
At her trial, a prosecutor described Sarah Pender as a “female Charles Manson” and a judge called her the brains behind the murders. That perception people had of her was probably why Sarah Pender received a 110 year sentence as opposed to the seventy-five year sentence that Richard received. The judge set her first chance at parole to be in October 28, 2053 - when Sarah Pender would be seventy-three.
Well, the parole board has probably already cleared their calendar for that day.
After serving almost six years in prison Sarah Pender decided to grant herself an early parole. On the 4th of August, 2008, Sarah Pender escaped from the Rockville Correctional Facility and has been running around free since that time.
How did Sarah Pender escape from the facility you ask? Enter 41-year-old, married correctional officer, Scott A. Spilter - a five year veteran with the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Evidently Scott Spitler is a sucker for women who have brutally murdered people.
Because they’re hot.
Officials aren’t sure when the relationship between Scott Spitler and Sarah Pender began but at some point Sarah went from being one of the inmates Scott was supposed to watch over and became his booty call instead. Some reports have it that he fell in love with her.
Whether it was love, lust or just stupidity, it was enough for Scott Spitler to hide Sarah in a prison vehicle and drive her right out of the facility. Once outside the prison walls, Sarah was then was picked up by 41-year-old Jamie Long, a fellow inmate who had been released from Rockville a while back and who had evidently stayed in touch with Sarah over the years.
The friendship between Jamie long and Sarah Pender was apparently enough for Jamie to throw away both her freedom and her family, as she now faces charges of aiding a prisoner in an escape and can be sentenced to anywhere from two to nine years in prison.
In what should be a Captain Obvious moment, Jamie Long now regrets what she did. While this could be in large part because Jamie Long was caught and arrested, it could also be because of the fact that her good friend Sarah Pender had no qualms about leaving her to face the music.
Sarah Pender didn’t really have a problem doing the same thing for her prison guard boyfriend, either, for that matter.
Not long after the escape, Scott Spitler was arrested and charged with assisting a criminal, official misconduct, sexual misconduct and trafficking with an inmate. Scott Spitler could serve a total of eight years in prison - not as a guard, but as an inmate. You can imagine the reception he’ll be getting.
Stout defenders of Scott Spitler have already come out and said that Scott was going through a tough time in his marriage, that his soon to be ex-wife - who filed for divorce after his arrest - was too harsh…yadda…yadda.
To all his defenders I say take your excuses and shove them right up your asses. Scott Spitler not only betrayed his badge and tarnished the reputations of all his fellow correctional officers, he put a dangerous fugitive back out on the streets. This wasn’t your average prostitute or shoplifter - this was a woman who has already murdered two people and according to many in law enforcement, will kill again if she feels the need.
Most of all, he put the families of Tricia Nordman and Andrew Cataldi through hell again. The word closure is a joke, as those families never get to see, hug or talk to Tricia or Andrew again. But they at least had peace in knowing the two people who committed their crimes would spend the rest of their lives behind bars. Or they did, until Scott Spilter came along, and decided to put getting laid above his job, his colleagues, and the families that Sarah Pender helped destroy. If anyone else dies because of this bitch, Scott Spitler should be charged with murder right alongside her.
As for Sarah Jo Pender, she’s still a fugitive as of this writing. It isn’t known who is assisting her now but it’s not her family. In a shocking turn of events when compared to the most of the stories at People You’ll See In Hell, Sarah’s family seems to have been turned off by the fact she murdered two people in cold blood. And the fact that she abandoned her three children further endeared her to her family.
If you like looking for escaped convicts, Sarah Jo Pender is a white female who weighs about two hundred pounds, is about 5 feet and 8 inches tall, has brown hair, blue eyes and numerous tattoos over her body.
America’s Most Wanted will be airing a story on her in the next week or so but if anybody reading this has seen Sarah Pender, feel free to call 1-800-Crimetv and end her run from justice. That way the Nordman and Cataldi families can have a small measure of peace again.
And please don’t have sex with Sarah. You don’t know where it’s been.

Just to set the record straight. I was released in 2003 from Rockville after serving 5 yrs. on a drug conviction, so I know the facility well.
Think of the worst scumbag you ever met and then view life surrounded by 800 + of them.. that is what Rockville is like. Personally, I can’t wait until Sara is returned there to the life she deserves. Aside from death, this is the worst punishment!
Ninety-nine percent of the murders at Rockville are still vindictive, malicious and evil- just as they have always been. They are also miserable. Sarah Pender is the most wanted woman in America. Monday ( 10/20/2008) , she was added to the U.S. Marshal’s 15 Most Wanted List.
“She walked into the hands of some other ex-offenders she met inside prison and those ladies have been assisting her since then,” said ISP Sgt. Ryan Harmon. ( He didnt say lady , he said ” ladies ” as in other female inmates besides Jamie Long )
“While police believe Pender has traveled since her escape, they think she’s still in Indiana.”
Investigators say that Pender planned her escape for two years and has said that she won’t go back to prison alive. They believe a $25,000 reward now offered for her capture may ultimately lead them to Pender.
Pender is a 29-year-old white female, with brown hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. This story is not about Sarah and Richard. Its about Sarah , escaping prison with Scotts help. As well as other ex-inmates. As far as her killing any one, she was never convicted of pulling the trigger, but she did mastermind the whole thing and bought the shotguns. The U.S. Marshals are even calling her a female version of Charlie Manson. For the way she manipulates others into doing her dirty deeds. What ever shitty things were done to Sarah as a child she has far surpassed that any of thoughs crimes and is becomeing a much bigger monster than dear old Dad ever was.

Look I am not saying she did not have a role in the murders. I agree with that. All I am saying is that why if he pulled the trigger, that he freely admits did he get 56 and her 110 years. Maybe she did buy the ammo, ok Ill agree to that and possibly the gun. But, If you look at the case documents he freely admits to being the triggerman. As seen from his mouth on AMW tonight. What I am saying is even if she did play a role in the crime and the crime scene.. Did she really deserve more time than Richard? Before being so judgemental should’nt we analyze the whole situation? I feel sympathy for the victims and their families. The crime was brutal. Im not saying Sarah is an angel and totally innocent at all. But 110 years for not being the triggerman, is not quite fair to me.

The best response I can give is this: all hope is not lost for Sarah Pender. There is a God in heaven who is merciful even toward any murderer. The one who played the biggest part in creation Jesus Christ according to Hebrews 1:2 died for all of us. God the Father is using His Only Begotten Son to reach out to even her. Even though it is evident she had a part in the shooting death in a drug deal, God wants to help her out and will if she would simply give Her Creator a chance. If not, there will be no hope for her. If her parents have forsaken or molested her, that is not her fault. Pender ought to use her intelligence for good and not for evil. When she gets caught, she would be better off turning her life around. May the Lord bless and keep Ms. Sarah Pender. And God help her and if she has children, may God look after them. Remember, we cannot breathe our next breath without God’s permission. He loves Sarah enough to keep her alive for a while longer. I hope Sarah will read this one day. Take care Sarah and may your only hope be in Christ Jesus because without accepting Him, you will die in your sins (John 8:24) because the wages of any sin is death (Romans 6:23). Remember, God the Father is giving us mercy through His Son when we don’t deserve it. By the way, I am not being religious even though most of our pastors today are nothing more than cotton candy preachers which the ACLU loves to see.
