Michael McCormick
Michael McCormick has been away a while, but now he’s back so we can all breathe a sigh of relief.
On second thought maybe we should all cover our eyes, plug our ears and hum the Star Spangled Banner so we can keep thinking nice thoughts.
Mike McCormick had always lived with his family on a farm near Stratton, Colorado. It was a nice farm, but the mortgage on the property was a heavy weight on the family. Back in the late 70’s – when interest rates on mortgages rose precipitously – in order to make their dollars stretch further, the McCormick family resorted to hiring homeless men from downtown Denver to avoid paying the payroll taxes and higher wages they would have to pay if they hired real workers.
It didn’t take long for Michael McCormick and his father, Tom McCormick, to figure out that the best way the avoid paying high wages would be to kill the workers when the time came to pay them.
And, really, killing your workforce when they’re done with a project does keep payroll expenses at a minimum.
Despite the regular killing of their workforce, that wasn’t enough to keep everything in the black – so Michael McCormick also involved himself in stealing cattle, dismantling stolen cars and selling them for parts, dealing drugs and working fraudulent deals in order to help make ends meet.
In 1983, a man named Hubert Donoho went missing. Hubert was last seen with a semi-tractor trailer that Michael McCormick was later seen with and arrested in. This interesting coincidence was enough to get the police to confront Michael and his father about Michael’s extra-curricular activities and the other strange happenings at the McCormick ranch.
Michael led investigators to the bodies of three ex-homeless people who he claimed that his father had killed and buried on the property. He also showed detectives Hubert Donoho’s body, explaining that his dad had hit Hubert on the head with a sledge hammer.
Tom McCormick was arrested and charged with several counts of murder. As investigators looked into things more closely, however, they began to believe that Michael McCormick wasn’t as innocent as he claimed and that Tom wasn’t as guilty as his son said. Two of the men had been shot in what appeared to be a similar fashion, while the other two men had been beaten to death – which in the world of forensic science makes for a very contrasting difference.
Three years later, in 1986, Michael McCormick was charged with the murder of Hubert Donoho. He pled guilty in 1987 and was sentenced to life in prison.
To this day he maintains his innocence. He stands by his original story that his father, Tom, was the one that brought the indigent men to the farm and murdered them instead of paying them.
In 2005 Mike McCormick’s appeals attorney successfully got his client’s murder conviction charge overturned due to his original defense attorney’s “ineffectiveness” at his trial. Prosecutors were quick to refile murder charges, but later worked out a deal for Mike to plead guilty to second degree murder and with time served and his life sentence commuted in June of 2006, Mike McCormick became a free man.
Let’s hear it for the American Judicial System. Golf clap, everyone.
Is it possible that Michael McCormick is as completely innocent as he says, and his father, Tom, was the real murderer, who went to his grave without repercussion for his action?
Well, let’s just take a look at what Mike has been up to since his release.
In 2007 Mike started a firm called American Equity Associates, which is a company that targets, I mean helps, people who are in the final stages of foreclosure. Michael McCormick finds people in their desperate, final hours of homeownership and charges them a fee for transferring title and deeds into his name in exchange for promises of fiduciary salvation.
The offer of a lifeline must be a very convincing one, especially for people that are on the brink of losing everything. Sadly while all of Michael’s clients paid him, none of them ever heard from him again.
A recent investigation into Michael McCormick’s enterprise was recently publicized. When a reporter contacted Michael by phone, Mike denied being either a convicted felon, or the son of Tom McCormick.
However, according to public records, the Michael McCormick that the reporter talked to has the same birth date, address and unusual middle name – Rexford – as the convicted murderer.
Odd coinkydink, doncha think?
So logic would lead us to believe that Mike is up to his old, desperate ways. Unfortunately for him, investigators are also digging into the past, using a warrant to search the old McCormick ranch property for bodies again. The new owners, who bought the property with the full disclosure that there could be human remains still buried somewhere on their property, have stated they are in full support of the investigation. Their support isn’t all that surprising when you consider that it’s not only super icky to have dead bodies laying around when company comes to visit, but because - shocker – these slain individual’s, souls and families deserve to rest in peace.

I love my state!! Yay, Colorado!!!
Whew! I thought I was about to read about another baby rape. Thank God he just killed a binch of people….
What’s wrong with people these days anyway?
I remember this story awhile back…I knew he was guilty then…know he’s guilty now. The guys a loser…his father did not kill all those people, they killed so many even he doesn’t know how many bodies are buried out there.
Who’d have ever though that a criminal sentenced to life would get out????
I think Jesus Christ was the only one who beat the death penalty!
Yes, and two homeless men died beside him.
Turtle- Once again you say the most obvious but overlooked (and humourous) comments.
Imagine the state of our ‘religions’ if those two homeless people had magically ressurrected as well! I might very well be a member of the ‘Will work for food’ church.
If you think about it, nepotism is universal. It appears to be involved in this recent POS situation as well as your referenced crucifixion. I guess the two ‘homeless’ men didn’t have as good of connections as the other guy.

It’s only prisoners who get sentenced to life without parole (LWOP) that are definitely never going to get out. Prisoners with just a life sentence can get out, though it’s rarer and rarer nowadays for them to actually do so.
Very enterprising. He sounds like a real go-getter that finds solutions to problems and takes action. Granted, he may be somewhat misguided, but dammit, credit where credit is due.
The man is a slime bag…gets my vote for hell..then again, my car is getting serviced next week, maybe i can kill the mechanic after the service is done and save myself a few hundred dollars…
Does he work for the government? Hasn’t he been running the war in Iraq.
well, the only positive is that the bodies would have enriched the soil..good compost and a saving on fertiliser costs
Yes, kezza.
Also, it would be a splendid place to go on Halloween. They’d make a “killing” charging patrons entrance fees to visit the place.
freaks!
is a life sentence really a life sentence in the states? there’s conflicting stories about it. i thought that here in Holland a life sentence meant 20 years, but a couple years back i found out a life sentence is indeed a life sentence, you NEVER get out.
Here in Australia there is LIFE and then there is LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE.
LIFE is 20 years i think and the other is life, never to be released.
Life should mean life. Instead it means, if you behave yourself while incarcarated then you can get out early. Pity they cant behave when they are out in society.
I KNEW THEM BOTH, THERE ARE MORE THERE ON RANCH. TESTIFIED AT TRIAL, EVEN KNEW MIKE’S WIFE. CBI BUNGLED, NOT JUST MISSION PEOLE MURDERED, DAD, TOM, ALSO RAN DRUGS.
They were dumb. They had drugs and hostages. They could have designed a new drug and tested it on those poor people but no they decided to just kill them outright.
Think of the possibilities of a new designer drug. Idiots.
Let’s see here. Cops are coming, gotta hide it all. Drugs flushed down the comode? Check. Stolen cars in the pond? Check. Homeless guys looking happy & healthy? Check.
Now I know I’m forgetting something… Come on… Think… Think… Think…
Oh crap, Dad, what did we do with those bodies again?
Very rarely does it occur that Satan is literally walking the earth. But there in Colorado he seems to not only be walking around, but he’s walking around very healthy and happy. My only question is who’s the cunt faced douche bag of a prosecutor that cut this asshole a deal? What, was he afraid he might actually have to show up for court and try somebody? I’d suggest that he spend eternity with good ‘ol Mike in the 7th circle.
