David Meyers is just another example of how the media jumps to conclusions when reporting news. Inaccuracy, biased observations, sheer unadulterated hate for poor people – is it really that surprising when the media talks about someone like David Meyers, that they get the story completely wrong?
David Meyers was going through a rough period in his life, and it isn’t right that everyone remembers David the way that the media would like to portray him. David Meyers was a good man, with a few faults – like everyone here on PYSIH.com!
OK yeah, David Meyers was a registered sexual offender who had served 10 years of a 20-year prison sentence for criminal confinement and sexual deviant conduct. But David had gotten out of prison two years ago! He got himself a job and was trying to change his life around! Yeah, he hadn’t registered his new address, and that’s “against the law” – but the law is wrong! They didn’t have to put a warrant out for his arrest! He served his time and shouldn’t have to be punished the rest of his life! It’s not like he’s a danger to anyone now – he learned his lesson after 10 years in prison!
It’s not his fault that David Meyers lost his job recently. It’s not David’s fault that he was living with his mother in her house. Lots of people live with their mothers when they’re 52. It’s very common.
And it was completely normal for David to be out at 3 in the morning, walking around. Is there some kind of law against people being out that late? Is it wrong, you judgmental bastards?
Just because David Meyers was naked doesn’t mean anything at all! What’s your problem? You’re naked when you walk into the shower, aren’t you? You don’t shower with your clothes on, right? Well, David Meyers probably just got lost a little bit after getting a hankering for a shower at 3 in the morning. So he missed the bathroom and went outside and down the gravel road his mother’s house is on for a short distance?
So what?
And really, just because David Meyers was carrying a rope, a knife, some condoms and a gag – that doesn’t mean a damn thing and you know it. Where do you get off making insinuations like that? He didn’t have any pockets you idiots! Where could he have kept all this stuff? Yeah you just try walking around naked at 3 in the morning while carrying a rope, a knife, some condoms and a gag. You can’t even DO it! It’s too hard! Unless you want to put the rope around your body and carry the knife in your teeth, with the condoms in one hand and the gag around your wrist or something – and nobody would walk around like that.

Ok, so David Meyers had opened the window of a house while he was out walking around. It’s not like he was breaking and entering! Seriously, you guys jump to conclusions all the time! That was the easiest window to get into! And he didn’t want to wake up the people who were living in that house, because they were renting the house from David Meyers’ uncle! The house was owned by the family, so it’s not like he couldn’t go into the house whenever he wanted! And David Meyers knew the family who was living in his uncle’s house anyways!
He was just being considerate, but you people and the media never see it that way. You always look for the evil in mankind, instead of the good. And you suck.
Yeah, maybe David scared the 17-year-old girl whose bedroom he walked into. The house was dark – it was 3 in the morning, remember? And it’s not easy to find your way around when you’re wearing a mask! Think about it, you’re in a dark house, everyone’s asleep, and you’re wearing a mask and latex gloves. You’ll be stumbling over and tripping over all kinds of things. And David Meyers was probably just looking for the shower anyways.
The dumb bitch whose room he was in didn’t have to start screaming. I mean, seriously, what the hell? A 52-year-old naked guy in your room with a mask, latex gloves, a knife, rope, a gag and condoms – that’s not a threat, that’s an opportunity!
It’s not like a 17-year-old hasn’t seen it before, it’s not like we’re living in the 1950′s, people.
And then 64-year-old Robert McNally runs in, playing Mr. Save-a-ho. Great father there. Just because his daughter is screaming about this naked guy with a mask, latex gloves, a knife, rope, a gag and condoms in her room doesn’t mean he has to attack the guy.
Violence solves nothing! Robert McNally didn’t even ask David Meyers what he needed! David would have just said he needed a shower, and there wouldn’t have had to be a fight at all! Fighting is wrong – it’s a crime called assault – and Robert McNally should have known that.
The police didn’t even need to be there, but since they were coming, they should have come earlier, with medical help. And Robert’s daughter shouldn’t have called them anyways. She should have just gone back to sleep. Why is she butting her nose into everyone’s business?
If it wasn’t for the cheap tricks Robert McNally pulled on David Meyers, David would have been able to get away and stay out of trouble.
And Robert McNally should be charged with murder. After all – the cops arrived and told him to let David Meyers go. I mean look, Robert was on the floor and had his arm around David’s neck – that’s an illegal choke hold. Robert should have known that David Meyers might have a heart condition and that he’d be vulnerable to violence.
And the media is reporting that the McNally’s didn’t recognize David Meyers until his mask was off, which is complete bullshit. How could you not recognize someone who has been in your house several times?
So now Robert McNally is going to walk away from murder, just because the media wants to report things their way, instead of just doing their jobs and reporting the truth.
Someone should sue them.

I am usually respectful of the deceased. They are dead, and cannot speak for themselves. However, in this situation I believe David is already serving time down in HELL. There is not many excuses he could have pulled out for this one.
Finally, justice was served by the parents of the victim.

INDIANAPOLIS — A man who police said broke into a home with the intention of sexually assault a 17-year-old girl in her bedroom died early Sunday morning after a struggle with the girl’s father.
David Meyers (pictured), 52, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived following a report of a home invasion in the 3500 block of West 79th Street at about 3:20 a.m.
Officers said they found Robert McNally, 64, on the floor with his arm around the neck of Meyers, struggling to hold him down.

It IS true that people end up as registered sex offenders sometimes for relatively insignificant offenses: 20-year-old men arrested for the statutory rape of their 17-year-old girlfriends, college kids who got drunk and thought it would be fun to go streaking. Certainly there’s poor judgment involved here, but these aren’t bad people. I’m not sure what the percentage of nuisance offenders is in the sex-offender registry compared to the percentage of violent, dangerous criminals, but, with VERY rare exceptions, it’s true that rehabilitation just isn’t possible in the latter circumstance.
Why do we even have registered sex offenders to begin with? They should have the key thrown away.
