Remember the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers?
For those few who aren’t aware of the very successful syndicated television series, it’s a live action animation cartoon centering around 5 teenagers who are secretly The Power Rangers, multi-color costumed martial arts superheroes with mad skills and lots of cool gadgets and vehicles. If you were a big enough fan of the MMPR, you may have noticed a talented child actor playing the part of “Roger” in the episode “Second Chance” back in 1994. His name was Skylar Deleon, and, according to IMDB, it’s the only role the young actor ever played.
It looks like Skylar (original name John Jacobson Jr.) took his lack of success in the acting profession in stride. He joined the Marines when he turned 18, but went AWOL less than a year later. He was given the proverbial boot along with a dishonorable discharge and sent on his way. It was about this period in his life that he met the love of his life, Jennifer. They couldn’t have come from more contrasting backgrounds. Skylar’s Dad was a Methamphetamine dealer who went to prison to serve a bid in 1980. Jennifer, on the other hand, was born into a close knit, religious family from the well off California community of Long Beach. Why is it that this type of ‘match made in heaven’ always seems to end up costing multiple victims their livelihoods and/or their lives?
Skylar didn’t waste his acting chops, choosing to use them to become, along with now wife Jennifer, a modern day pair of vicious con men who would spend money on a lavish lifestyle, run up massive debt, then kill or swindle people out of their money to pay off their loans. Jennifer was an enthusiastic participant. Of course she was. Aren’t they always, that is, until they get caught and she either a) plays the abuse card or b) claims she had no idea what was going on until it was too late, and that she never killed anyone.
In 2004, they met Thomas and Jackie Hawks. Good people, Tom and Jackie. Among his many occupations, Tom had been an Air Force MP, Fire Fighter, and Probation Officer. In other words, he felt a strong urge to serve his fellow man.
Jackie spent her days raising their two sons, Ryan and Matthew. They also invested in Real Estate, and were pretty successful at it. So successful, if fact, that in 2002 they bought the “Well Deserved”, a 55 foot yacht. Tom, now 55, retired, and they planned on taking long sea voyages together. These were two nice people who led a decent, God-fearing life, worked hard and were blessed with some of the finer things in life because of that hard work. They were by no means millionaires, and they earned everything they owned. In 2004 their first grandchild was born, and the decision was made to sell the yacht and become full time grandparents.
But Tom and Jackie had one weakness. They trusted people.
So when Skylar and Jennifer Deleon put on the full court press, complete with one young daughter and another on the way, The Hawks were, literally, dead meat. The Deleons convinced the Hawks they wanted to buy the “Well Deserved”, a deal was set, and a demonstration cruise scheduled for Monday, November 15, 2004. Skylar Deleon, along with an ex-con named John F. Kennedy and a 22-year-old prison guard, Alonso Machain left port with Tom and Jackie on a shakedown cruise that neither Tom nor Jackie would ever return from.
As soon as they were far enough out to sea, Skylar and Kennedy overpowered Tom, while Machain subdued Jackie. They were tied together with a rope at the waist, and the other end was tied to the boat’s anchor. They were also blindfolded. After being forced to sign over power of attorney and ownership of the yacht, Skylar smiled as the other two men threw the anchor over the side, then stepped back as the huge weight dragged the Hawks to their deaths.
The little prick stood there and grinned like the cat that ate the canary. But that’s not why I hate this son of a bitch. I’ll get to that.
Tom and Jackie’s sons were the first ones to catch on that something was seriously wrong, when the bank informed them that a man named Skylar Deleon had twice tried to access their parent account using power of attorney. Police began an investigation, and got their big break when Alonso MacHain (remember him?) decided to cooperate rather than face the death penalty. Skylar’s phone records corroborated Machain’s story and condemned Jennifer at the same time. Lovely thing those cell phone records – dumbasses like Skylar always seem to forget about them.
By April 8, 2005, everyone, including Crip member John Kennedy, had been arrested and charged with the first degree murder of the Hawks.
On Friday November 17, 2006, Jennifer Deleon was found guilty on two counts of first degree murder, and later sentenced to two Life Sentences without Parole. Alonso Machain pleaded guilty to two counts of Accessory to Commit Murder and is awaiting sentencing. John F. Kennedy is scheduled to be tried in November.
And then there’s Skylar. Now you will all come to understand what a true sociopath Skylar Deleon is. One thing I neglected to tell you guys about is the Jon Jarvi case. Back in 2003, our boy Skylar was locked up in Seal Beach Jail for some minor offense. Skylar conned Jon to lend him $50,000 for a business deal that would be take place in Mexico. The pair drove down there together but only Skylar returned, slitting Jon’s throat and leaving him for dead along a Mexican highway. Now here’s the best parts folks: This all took place after Jarvi had been released and Deleon was on a day long work furlough. He murdered the guy while he was still incarcerated! Cops stumbled on this case while investigating the Hawks’ case, and charge Skylar with a third First Degree Murder. He stood trial in October for all three deaths, and on Oct. 20 was found guilty as charged. The penalty phase began on Oct 22, 2008 and he faces the death penalty.
Despite his attorney urging him to keep his fucking mouth shut, Skylar couldn’t help but take an interview. He took it as an opportunity to throw blame around, and to trash the victims. This is the part that’s gonna make you’ all a bit crazy, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. “My dad’s the reason I’m here,” He said, “he was the one who knew the Hawks. I only met them through him. My dad is a big drug runner. He said he was there for some drug deal with them.” Sure, Sky, sure. Fucking lowlife couldn’t wait to attack dead folks who HE made sure aren’t around to defend themselves.
“Methamphetamine,” Skylar droned on “They sold meth… I was paying them for my dad. I last saw them alive after visiting them on that boat.” “As far as I know, they are still alive,” he wrote (on a note held against the window). “I did go on that boat, but I left and they were still alive. Alonso stayed with them after I left. He was supposed to stay with them.” As far as Skylar saw it, he had been charged in the deaths of two people who were never murdered. What a fucking guy.
But the boy still has his acting chops. When the interviewer challenged his story with the facts of the case, and since nothing in the Hawks past indicated they were anything but honest, hardworking people, a crushed look crossed his face. “I know,” he mouthed, imploring with his eyes to be believed. “But it’s true.”
Now where did I put that Oscar? Dammit, talent like this needs to be recognized. Well, maybe the jury will acknowledge his many “talents” when they award him three appointments with the needle. If they don’t, that would be a crime.

Deleons original murder plan was to subdue the couple during that first meeting. Deleon was going take Tom while Machain handled Jackie. However, after seeing Tom Hawks’ chiseled chest and massive arms, Deleon quickly abandons the original plan, to return with additional manpower. Deleon gets a linebacker-sized gang member named John Kennedy, to help over power Tom. They return with stun guns and handcuffs and this is the court testimony of what happened in the final moments of Tom and Jackies life On Nov. 15, 2004.
In open water and with no other ships in sight, John Kennedy descends into the ship’s bathroom, pretending to be seasick.
When Tom hurries down the stairs to help, Kennedy blindsides him with a punch to the temple. Tom recoils from the blow and begins pounding the larger, heavier street fighter. Deleon, joins the tussle with a stun gun. Together, Deleon and Kennedy manage to handcuff Tom and covered his mouths and eyes with duct tape.
“What’s going on?” Jackie screams when she hears the commotion. In the kitchen, Machain reaches for Jackie and wrestles her to the ground. “But she was biting,” he said. He fires his stun gun and then cuffs her.
As Machain drags Jackie to the master bedroom, she screams, “How could you do this to us?”
“I don’t want to die. I want to see my grandson,” Jackie cries as Machain and Deleon stretch duct tape over her mouth and eyes. The couple is handcuffed and laying sideways on their bed in the belly of the boat.
Deleon tells the couple if they cooperate, they will live. One at a time, he leads them up to the main cabin, where each signs and fingerprints a title transfer for the boat as well as power of attorney documents.
Jackie shakes uncontrollably as she signs her name. While signing, she leaves the “s” off Hawks, a clue that will later help investigators.
With the documents signed, Kennedy and Deleon move to the rear deck, where they rope up a disengaged anchor. Tom and Jackie are then led to the deck of the boat.
“Why are you doing this?” Jackie cries in a muffled voice. It is probably the last time Tom hears his wife’s voice.
Restricted by handcuffs and duct tape blindfold, Tom soothes Jackie’s hands. When he hears the 66-pound anchor being dragged toward them, Tom kicks Deleon in the groin, sending him hurtling through the air toward a deck chair. Kennedy again blindsides Tom in his right temple. The strike echoes with a dull thud, and Tom begins stuttering and slurring like a boxer, bruised on the brain.
Angry at the kick, Deleon ropes Tom and Jackie together, Jackie’s back against Tom’s chest. Without Jackie in front of him, Tom likely would have collapsed from the knockout punch.
The last words Jackie Hawks’ murderers hear are more a cry than a statement: “Just let us live,” Jackie screams, shaking in fear as the couple is tied to the anchor. “I just want to see my grandson.”
With that, Kennedy pushes Tom and Jackie Hawks , who are still alive, off the stern of the boat, and Skylar heaves the 66-pound anchor, chained to the couple, into the ocean. Jackie’s head hits the side of the boat as the couple falls into the water, the anchor pulling them deeper and deeper as they sank to the bottom of the ocean in the dark of night.
Horrifying stuff man, wasn’t it. I wanted to include all the details in the story, but as you can see, it was already pretty long and likely to get a lot longer. I’m glad you posted this for everybody so they can see how brutal the crime really was.
Yah , it was pretty bad. Skylar has so many different charges and crimes , there really is no one spot to start it at.
Tom and Jackie Hawks fought hard for there lives only to end up on the bottom of the ocean and the only reason Skylar his gang of idiots, got onto the boat in the first place was Skylars piss poor excuse for a humans , wife Jennifer DeLeon . Who used thier own children as decoys.
Thank God she was sentenced to life in prison on two consecutive counts of first-degree murder without possibility of parole.

From what I read, Skylar wanted to buy the boat so when he comes with his homies that was a red flag. Keep folks at arms distance, don’t be so fucking friendly to folks. And always if you can, pack your side arm. I’m not making light of this cruel event. But I am very angry at how things went down.
People that know me say I’m very cautious and I don’t let my guard down. I wish Tom was the same.
Tom says, “The sea was calling us and we couldn’t wait any longer. Life is just too short to put things off, and one cannot discover new oceans unless they have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”
Like I wrote Turtle, if Tom and Jackie had one flaw, it was that they had faith in the good in people. It wasn’t their nature to believe a couple like Skylar & Jennifer could be anything but what they said they were. After researching this story, and working on the article for a three or four days, I really began to wish I’d had a chance to know Tom & Jackie. To be honest with you buddy, the two victims really weren’t going to be an important part of the story when I first decided to write about it. I was thinking 55 foot yacht, rich people, it’s a terrible crime yes, but why waste time on their backstory. I was very, very wrong about that.

BUT Skylar and Jen “the couple” weren’t on board that fateful day.
It was Skylar and his thugs. Had it only been “the couple”, I could see why Tom would let his guard down a little.
That’s true man, yeah, that’s a very good point. I do know that Tom was in incredibly good physical shape, and he was supremely self confident about his ability to handle any situation. He probably he bit off more than he could chew this time. But I still think that because they had taken a liking to Skylar, Jennifer, and their little girl, they just assumed the other two guys were of equally good character. It wasn’t the primary reason that they left port with those three thugs on board, but I honestly believe it had to factor in somehow.
Turtle, at the original meeting it was Skylar and his wife Jennifer. They brought there 2 children, (the infant was the same age as Tom and Jackie Hawks grand child). And this weasely skinny turd named Machain.
It was decided that Tom would have kicked the crap put of the 2 men so they made up a lie to postpone it and come back with the line backer thug. Skylar introduced him as thier accountant.
Jackie’s job had always been the house wife / mom and she missed it and the kids dearly. I am 100% sure she was the one pushing for the boat to be sold and Tom loved her so much he was willing to sell it, sooner than he wanted.
I left out of the story , on the nite of the murder were Jackie repeataly says to skylar
“Skylar, why are you doing this? We had your wife and kid down here. We trusted you.”
I don’t know. It’s just several things that would have thrown me off.
I’m just frustrated that Tom wasn’t like me.

I want to make it clear that I absolutely agree with Turtle when he points out that Tom & Jackie were pretty careless about their personal safety. I feel like nobody should ever leave their home, or interact with people they don’t know, without taking along the proper amount of paranoia. It’s just the prudent thing to do in a world where people like every asshole that’s gotten a write up here on PYSIH walk the same streets as the rest of us.
True. I’m in no way saying they are to blame for their own demise. I’m venting my frustration because if it were me, those assholes would be done for. All of them.
The Hawk’s naiveness should make everyone’s sentence even more extreme. Extreme for preying on decent folk who only wanted to embrace and accept folks as is. Yes, there is no problem with that concept. I only wish things were different. I only wished he maybe lost his boat and kicked himself in the ass for trusting POSbags. I don’t wish he lost his life. I hope everyone can learn from this and move on.

“…..The morning’s main event, though, was the appearance of Jennifer Deleon, accused in the Tom and Jackie Hawks yacht murders off Newport Beach. That Fasel granted a motion to split her trial from that of her husband, Skylar, was in little doubt. Jury selection starts Wednesday.
The interesting stuff was what her defense attorney, Mike Molfetta confirmed for me post-hearing:

•She’s become a jailhouse beautician, cutting fellow inmates’ hair;

How do we know he’s not trying to streamline operations by getting on the web and checking out sites like this to more efficiently decide who goes to hell and who doesn’t?
Public opinion is very important when you’re in the public eye. God has a pretty high profile job and needs to keep his finger on the public pulse. He probably doesn’t need any bad press and I certainly don’t think he needs any fuck ups like letting some scumbag into heaven. We may very well be influencing some of his decisions.

Plenty of people have had fucked up childhoods and they don’t kill people for money. I was orphaned at twelve and was bounced around the foster care system until I was of age. That was the verdict reached moments ago by a Superior Court jury for triple murderer Skylar Deleon.
The seven-woman, five-man panel deliberated for two days in the Santa Ana courthouse before determining that Deleon should die by lethal injection instead of spending the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Deleon, 29, of Long Beach, sat stoically at a counsel table without any display of emotion when the verdict was announced. It was the same demeanor he displayed throughout his five-week trial.
He was convicted by the same jury last month of three counts of first-degree murder for financial gain.

He actually had other roles, however, nothing really panned out. Seems he couldn’t remember his lines causing him to be canned by many a producer. Poor poor Power Ranger kid. I found over the net, about how his father beat him, was a drunk, and parent did mad cocaine around him…not saying poor baby..but there is something to take into thought.
