Ken Reeves
This is Kenneth Reeves. Ken is a passionate man. If you were to ask him, he’d probably tell you that if he has a fault, it’s that he loves too much. Ken fell hard for Heather Davis, wife of Scott Davis Sr and Stepmother of Scott Jr, 18. He did his best to woo her, you know, the flowers, the candy, the letters with words etched directly from Ken’s aching heart.
But Heather was a woman of her word, she had taken a vow to love Scott Davis Sr, til death do they part. Or maybe she just had a premonition that Kenny here was just a little bit more than a creep. She rejected Ken’s advances, and heartbroken, he retreated back under whatever rock it was that he’d crawled out from. Soon, as the pain of Heather’s rejection burned in his mind, he began to form a plan.
He would teach her a lesson about rejecting a man like him.
Ken knew that Heather’s stepson Scott Jr was a troubled kid. The 18-year-old was being treated for depression and had been involuntarily committed to a mental health facility in 2007. He’d also been expelled from Pace-Brantley Hall School in Longwood, Florida earlier that same year.
So Kenny built a few pipe bombs, six in all, and hid them around the Davis’ property. He then picked up the phone, gave the Orange County FL Deputies a call, and told them a fascinating tale about how young Scotty threatened to blow up his former high school & that he’d shown Ken several pipe bombs. He also told them that over the next couple of days Scott and his stepmother had shown just him where the six bombs were hidden. Needless to say, the Deputies were concerned, and on May 11, 2007, they arrested Scott Davis Jr and charged him with possession of a destructive device.
That’s when all hell broke loose for Scotty. The parents of the students at his new high school demanded he be expelled. The news media, vultures that they are, began to circle the Davis’ home, and soon the court of public opinion had Scott Jr tried, convicted, and executed. His friends abandoned him, and strangers were mostly just cruel.
This would have been a difficult weight to bear for a person of sound mind, but for Scotty, with his history of major depression and emotional problems, it was a nearly impossible. His life was destroyed, and he was personally and psychologically devastated, all because a vicious little prick like Ken Reeves couldn’t take no for an answer.
Let’s take a look at Ken Reeves for a second, shall we? He’s a 50-year-old divorced father of four (although during his trial he claimed he was a single father of one 15 year old). A former Orange County Deputy, he resigned his position and apparently became a professional criminal. I looked up his record in Orange County FL, and he’s been arrested a minimum of 30 times for theft and shoplifting since 1999 in OC alone. I also found a couple of comments on the CNN Sidebar board from someone claiming to be his daughter describing Ken as a “crazy man” and going on to say that neither she nor her siblings have had anything to do with him for many years.
Yep, it’s hard to understand how Heather Davis was able to resist this charmer.
OK, so back to our story. Thankfully, Law Enforcement in Orange County isn’t as stupid as Kenneth Reeves assumed they were. Even though they arrested Scott Davis Jr, that didn’t mean they were going to take Ken’s word about what happened. They checked out his story and, little by little, evidence began to pop up pointing to Mr. Reeves’ attempt to frame Mr. Davis.
His computer was a huge source of information, especially the forensic evidence that Ken had visited “The Anarchist’s Cookbook” website several times, and spent most of his online time at the pages that dealt with “how to make a pipe bomb”.
Imagine that?
It also didn’t help that, when the cops had difficulty locating the bombs the first time they searched the Davis’ property, Kenny was able to go to the exact spots without even thinking, even though he claimed he’d only been shown their locations once. In June of 2007, they had enough proof, and Ken was arrested and charged with 14 counts varying from Possession of a Destructive Device to Burglary. Scott was released soon afterwards and the charges against him dropped.
On October 10th, 2008, the trial of Kenneth Reeves for plotting to frame now 19-year-old Scott Davis Jr in a high school bombing plot began. It was basically a battle of testimonies, with the Davis family telling their version of events and Ken taking the stand to try and bullshit his way out of trouble. Fortunately the evidence backed Scott Jr, and on October 16th Kenneth Reeves was convicted of all but 2 of the charges he was facing. On October 24th Judge Julie O’Kane sentenced the big weenie to 10 to 40 years in prison.
Outside the courtroom, Scott Davis Jr. said he felt vindicated. Asked what his feelings were for Reeves, the 19-year-old said “I wish he would have never walked in my life. I wish he would have never walked into my parents’ life my family.” Then he looked directly at the camera to address Reeves: “You destroy us all in the most emotional way you can possibly do to somebody. I hope you are watching this, I really do.”
This putz Reeves really got on my nerves. Hell, I’ve been rejected by a woman (many, many women), and it never occurred to me to a) get even with her for turning down a chance to date the great I Am, and b) Get back at her by destroying the life of a close family member, preferably one who is emotionally vulnerable and an easy target. This is the kind of nonsensical plotline you see on a third rate Lifetime movie, but Ken thought it was a great fucking idea. And the worst part is it worked, for a while anyways. People were ready to string Scott Davis Jr from the nearest tree, and by the end of this whole tragic affair, his life was in tatters. The local media picked up on the story and ran with it when Scott was arrested, and we the people took the limited information provided and condemned the kid easy as you please, just like we do time after time after time.
And that my friends, brings me to the elephant that was in the room the entire time I was writing this story. I don’t even have to question how I would have acted. If I’m going to be honest I already know. I would have crucified this kid, and if his family had the nerve to come to his defense, I would have had their asses too. And I would have been so wrong. I’m glad I found this case, because as well as being a cool story about a first class shithead, it also made me examine my own behavior. And while I’m not about to make wholesale changes in the way I do things, I did see that I’m very capable of being a judgmental asshole, that I’ve let myself believe I’m too damn smart to be wrong, and I’ve stopped caring if my words might be hurtful, or cruel, or unfair. These are the kinds of attitudes that destroyed Scott’s life, and maybe that’s the real crime here

Well since yer honest I’ll have to be also. I would have done the same. I would have talked about what should happen to this kid.
A huge thanks goes out to the police for not believing the bull and looking in to all angles and finding the true criminal here.
thanks for tis post. Good deal!
Yayyyyy!!!! *doing cartwheels across the net****WE HAVE A NEW STORY!!! I love you admin, come to Australia and marry me LOL.
Im just so happy to have something new to read LOL…..
Ken Reeves is an asswipe.
And your right..we can all be judgemental assholes.
Mulch is right, thank God for thorough police work and people like me who are not so quick to judge.
WE HAVE A NEW STORY!!! YAYYYYY!!!
Nice job Max…
I learned my lesson recently about judgemnetal behavior. My nephew was recently shot in the back by a LA County Sheriff. The guy said he shot him because he asked him to put down a weapon and instead my nephew pointed it at him….which explains exactly how the 17 yr old was shot in the back…yeahhhhh right.
The local media ran with it and on the paper’s message board people were going crazy saying he should get the death penalty and all that bs.
Turns out, this was his 3rd iffy shooting in the last 6 mos, no gun was found at the scene, and he is now on “administrative leave.” Do you think the media picked up that part of the story?
Of course not.
By the time your “nephew” has a gun pointed at him and is shot by an Sherrif’s Deputy (I think that’s what you meant, I doubt the Sherrif was out there shooting suspects) he’s already in trouble. Not that he deserved to get shot, but he should have gotten some help before he got to that point.
Well…he was in the park playing basketball and we all know that those darn basketball players shoot people all the time. The officer was chasing someone, lost him, then decided to rough up the kids on the basketball court.
Since you said no gun was found at the scene of you nephew’s shooting, it sounds like he didn’t have a gun at all, much less point one at the officer. How did they explain that small discrepancy in the shooters story?
Ya know, the funniest thing happened…first my nephew was charged with attempted murder on a police officer…then when no gun (nor anything that looked like a gun) turned up, he was magically released from “custody” which consisted of two officers guarding the door to his room in ICU.
Physically, he will be fine, and shoud be discharged soon.
Shit! Im sorry he had to go through all that. Unfortunately not all our police officers are fine men. I hope your nephew moves past this terrible event.
Good job, Max.
All manipulative, lying, and selfish people should burn!
Admin – your crucifying the kid is a normal reaction, we’ve grown up trusting the media. In school we were taught to do research – how to look up and use information, rarely were we taught how to gather our own information. Thus most research papers are based on the work of other people who got their information from where???????
In some ways the speed of the police dept is so slow, but at other times it’s a good thing, as a quick to accuse police dept could be used as a weapon for those like Mr. Reeves.
The media owes the kid an apology, but in an age where opinion polls are reported as gospel fact, I am more than sure “sources” will consider apologizing.
Very good job Max.
I hope the elephant is ok, J/K
Great story and lots to think about. Being judgmental is the nature of this website, We judge if they are Hell worthy or not. But I like to think, most stories have a high degree of validation to them. If a person is convicted of a crime and found guilty , its not unreasonable to think they have committed the crime.
We can still be pissed about the nature of the crime and saddened for the victims. Irregardless of who the fuck did it. I havent come aross to many articles here were the criminal was resonably vindicated.
We always judge, and when we think we have all of the facts but don’t we will judge inaccurately. I would have condemned the kid too, I think anyone would with the information to be had in the beginning. That’s why things are done the way they are. Police dig up as many details as they can, and then we go forward.
Yes, there are innocent people in prison. Yes, sometimes it goes all horribly wrong and people are misjudged.
As a general rule though, i have a lot of faith in our Police Officers and their ability to find facts.
And in this case, they did that. They kept digging until they found the truth.
Nice work Max.
Wow. Talk about fatal attraction. This guy looks like a putz. Sheesh.
Great job Max. Nice to see a new story up! This guy is just pitiful. How crappy going after the kid! Hope he serves his full term.
I also do not blame you for your elephant (ha ha) at all, I think most people would feel the same. In today’s world things like this are too often true, and for our own kids safety the majority would tend to believe a “grown” man. I mean, what kind of person would make up such a story?? ohhhhh butt fuck Kenny Reeves would. Someone needs to put a pipe bomb up his ass and blow him to the moon.
Well written max.
Wow, what a waste of skin. Scary when you think of how easily this can happen to someone just because of a piece of skulking crap. Hopefully he’ll get a new boyfriend in prison who can ease his aching…. heart.
Anyone that takes what the media says at face value these days needs to take another look.
I like Limbaugh’s approach: “Gee, I wonder if that’s true?”
Of course, its only going to get worse.
thanks guys i like your comments about that guy im really glad hes jail…and i hope he never gets out i hope that fucker dies in there cause i would kill him for all the danger he put my family through
You’re welcome Scott. This was the second story I ever wrote for this site, and the first one I did as editor. Like every other story I’ve written since then, I decided to do it because the things Reeves did annoyed the hell out of me. I’m just glad the cops were able to clear you and put lover-boy in prison for a nice long stretch.
Also, thanks for taking the time to leave a comment here. It’s always cool when one of the victims of the PYSIH all-start team let’s us know they appreciate what we’re doing. We all want to wish you and your parents the best of luck.
Sheesh, what a despicable asshole. He couldn’t be man enough to deal with it, so he went after the woman. Or should I say, he went after the woman by going after her vulnerable son. I’ve been battling depression for 10 years, so I don’t particularly enjoy it when someone takes advantage of that in anyone. And this guy didn’t just harass the kid, but took steps to make sure his life was utterly DESTROYED. I’m glad it didn’t work forever, though sad that it worked at all.
I’d imagine the whole scenario that started this will be reversed in prison…Someone making advances on Kenny, Kenny declining, and then getting raped anyway. I reckon he’ll make a fine bitch.
