David Edenfield, George Edenfield and Peggy Edenfield
This is 33 year old George Edenfield, and these are his parents, 58 year old Peggy and 59 year old David. Both David and George have a history of being sex offenders- A family that preys together.
In 1993, David Edenfield was arrested for committing incest against an adult family member that was not his son and entered a guilty plea in 1994. For this offense, David received 10 years probation. In 1997, George Edenfield entered a guilty plea following an arrest for the molestation of two boys aged 7 and 9. For these offenses, George received 10 years probation and was required to register as a sex offender.
In 2007, George appeared in court on charges that he’d violated his probation by refusing to move from a residence located directly across the street from Brunswick, GA‘s Orange Park, a popular playground. Although he’d lived there for 9 years and 
pleaded guilty, Glynn County DA Stephen Kelley and Judge Stephen Scarlett approved a plea allowing George to receive probation instead of time in prison. The date of this sentence- March 5.
Christopher Michael Barrios, Jr. was a bright, loving 6 year old boy who had recently started kindergarten. He took pleasure in time spent with his family, his large collection of superhero toys, and Jimmy, the stray cat he’d adopted. On the afternoon of March 8, 2007, Christopher happily stepped off his school bus and greeted his stepmother. Together, they walked over to Christopher’s grandmother’s home, where Christopher was dropped him off to play.
George had watched Christopher disembark his bus; It was at that time that George says the Devil told him to kill Christopher. According to Paula Anderson, Christopher’s stepmother, Christopher came back home when his grandmother, Sue Rodriguez, needed to run some errands. When Paula saw Sue’s truck back at her home, she allowed Christopher to go back over and visit. This would be the last time Paula ever saw the cherished little boy.
As Christopher walked home that evening, he was approached by George, who lured the child into his house of horrors with the promise of video games. Christopher excitedly agreed; the horrors that awaited him too savage for a 6 year old little boy’s mind to know or understand.
After arriving at the Edenfield residence, Christopher was brutally and horrifically attacked by George and David. Standing about 3’6 and weighed about 65 lbs, the child didn’t stand a chance of defending himself against the Edenfield men. Both George and David took turns sodomizing and forcing the child to perform oral sex as Peggy watched and masturbated. When they had finished using the child for their sadistic purposes, the men used clothing to clean semen from their bodies, and both George and David (according to a statement given by Peggy) choked the poor boy to death, coldly ignoring him as he begged them to stop and cried that they were hurting him.
Next, Peggy attempted to wash fingerprints from Christopher’s neck using a pot of water and soap and the family wrapped the child in plastic trash bags. A “friend” of the family, Donald Dale, was enlisted in the disposal of Christopher’s body.
When Christopher failed to arrive home by 6 p.m., Paula went over to Sue’s house to walk him back home for dinner. She arrived to find no one home, so she searched the neighborhood, checking all the places the neighborhood kids liked to play and knocking on doors. A few neighbors joined in the search, but when that failed to produce the child, Paula called Christopher’s father Mike at work.
Mike arrived home around 7:30 and called the police, who arrived shortly after 8. Christopher was officially reported missing about 8:15 that evening. The search for the child that ultimately included helicopters, ATV’s, search dogs, and members of the National Guard in addition to police and volunteer searchers on foot began at 8:30.
Reports show that during the initial search of the area by local law enforcement, a toy belonging to Christopher was found in the yard of the Edenfield’s home; this, along with the fact that the Edenfields were observed repeatedly peeking out the windows, aroused police suspicions and Investigator William Daras went over to ask some questions. A confession was obtained that night from George, but he refused to tell where Christopher’s body was for fear or being taken to jail.
Although George was arrested the next day, he, his parents and Donald Dale continued to mislead police on Christopher’s whereabouts for a week. Christopher’s body was eventually found on March 15, 2007 by a park ranger after the area of focus was expanded. Although Peggy gave several locations where Christopher’s body could be found and repeatedly told police that he was buried within a few hundred feet of her home, the child’s remains were actually located 2-3 miles away on the side of the road in a black trash bag buzzing with insects.
Beloved Christopher had been used then tossed aside like a piece of garbage by a family of demons that had no regard for the fact that he was someone’s baby, someone’s friend, he was loved, and he was missed. Can you imagine the horror that little boy felt during his last moments on earth? Can you imagine what his parents felt every night he was not home to tuck into his bed and kiss goodnight? Can you even fathom what they felt when they were told that their baby boy was never coming home, or how it hurt to be robbed of the chance to view him for the final time because during the week the Edenfields and Dale were playing games with the police, Christopher’s body was deteriorating beyond what the family would recognize as their child?
Donald Dale was charged with concealing the death of another person, obstruction of justice and making false statements. In June, 2008 Dale accepted a deal which allowed him to spend 5 years in a state mental health facility in exchange for a guilty plea on a lesser charge of lying to police. Judge Scarlett and DA Kelley agreed to this plea after the state presented findings that Dale has an I.Q. of 60, classifying him as mentally retarded, which many find ironic considering the fact that he wasn’t too retarded to dump Christopher’s body and lie to the police in an attempt to cover his tracks.
All 3 Edenfields have been charged with malice murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, enticing a child for indecent purposes, false imprisonment, first degree cruelty to a child, child molestation, concealing the death of another person and tampering with evidence, with George and David facing an additional 2 counts of aggravated child molestation. They are both facing the death penalty; However, in exchange for testimony against her husband and son, Peggy Edenfield is not.
Nearly 2 years later, Donald Dale has received a sweetheart deal and the Edenfields are sitting in jail enjoying 3 hots and a cot on your tax dollars. No trial date has been announced yet for George, David or Peggy. And Christopher Barrios’ family still mourns their little boy, and still awaits justice- the family that preys together must pay together!

I’m not blaming the parents..but it struck me that this boy was lured into the house by the promise of video games. What ever happened to teaching kids NEVER EVER to talk to strangers…..never to get into a carwith strangers, never to go to a stranger’s house etc….When i was that age, i knew to run like crazy if I was approached like that. Knowing to do so, might NOT have saved Chritopher…..but it might have. A little prevention is worth the world sometimes.

i speak to the family rather frequently, and do know some thiongs that aren’t being reported, so i will be posting rebuttals and giving answers when you guys ask questions i didn’t cover in the story. actually, christopher was told about strangers. sue warned him but it makes no difference. he was still a small child, and anyone with small children knows you can tell them a million times, that might not do the trick. after this story came out in the news, i sat my kids down for a talk about stranger danger. i covered all the bases. i quizzed them and they answered every question perfectly. not 5 minutes later, i came back for a pop quiz. i asked my son what he would do if a stranger asked HIM to come over to play video games and he told me he would go. i said why would you do a thing like that? he looked at me and said because i like video games, they’re fun. now what if i had never thought to go back and ask that? the point i’m making is you can warn a child, use scare tactics on a child, use drills to quiz the child. until they’re really in that situation, you can’t know how they will respond because their little minds can’t grasp how serious these things are. we’re a bunch on jaded adults with decades of experience in life. they’re innocent children, naturally trusting and loving, with only a handful of years on this earth under their belts.
So true, eternal. I recently watched a video showing how easily it was to lure small children away from playgrounds, and in one case, gain entry into a home when no parents were there. These kids had all been taught about “stranger danger” but it made no difference when they were actually faced with it. These predators are master manipulators and know exactly what to do and say to get to our kids.
This is so true, no matter how much you teach and prepare your children for this type of situation, they most likely not going to know what to do, or actually do what we had told them to do. Not to blame this on the parents but I can truly say that my son is 8 years old and there is not a moment in his life that he would be walking by himself anywhere. Not across the road to grandma’s house, not walking in a group of children from the bus stop. We as adults, know.. truly know.. the danger and sick minded people are out there and there are more.. and more of them out there. If we ever.. ever.. give them an opportunity, they will take that opportunity and we will have to live with it for the rest of our life. So take a moment of your time.. parents, be at your child’s bus stop in the morning and after school. Hold their hand in the public places, don’t allow them to walk alone any where, drive them and pick them up from their friends’ house. You already know what dangers are out there, but your children doesn’t. Be scare for your children sake. Build a wall around them.. protect them, so what if you are over protected. We have to eliminate the opportunity for those sick basters.

Folks, my neighborhood has been burning down since yesterday. I live in Brea/Yorba Linda, CA. While watching the enormous, shorching flames destroy everything in their paths, I started to think about Hell and how all the bastards who have done wrong to innocent people will burn in similar flames one day. It made me feel better.

I cant think about it…what they acyually did to him. Because then i start thinking about my own children, and what if it happened to one of them, and i get this overwhelming feeling of grief for the child and the family and i just cant cope with that feeling. I wonder how his mum copes. My heart goes out to her. It seems impossible, but i hope that one day her pain is somehow lessened.
I’m with you, Amy… I can’t imagine how this mother feels knowing what her son went through before his death. You know, we recently found out that we’re expecting our first child, and I have so many fears about raising a kid… Now there’s things like this to think about. This is not something we should have to worry about people doing to our kids. These people should never have a second chance to hurt a child. as far as i’m cooncerned, they dropped the ball and they have blood on their hands as well. the laws that are supposed to be protecting helpless children have been twisted around and exploited by so many of these judges and lawyers. they go about offering pleas to any and everyone to make their day go by faster so they can make tee time at the golf course. the only people they benefit are the offenders themselves! it makes me sick!

I agree with you eternal. For me race is generally not an issue. There are stereotypes that are hard to look past and just see the individual, and im going to be honest here and admit that i sometimes fail at that.
But when it comes to children, especially when it comes to children, there is absolutely no issue with their colour, religion, size, shape etc.

How truly sad and tragic this story is. This family reminds me of the inbred families from horror movies such as “The hills have eyes” or the “devils rejects”. Its always hard for me to grasp that these types of truly disturbing people really exist living and breathing among us. It is even more incrediable that this families behaviors (for the most part) have gone undetected this long. Now they have been caught committing THE MOST heinous crimes on a child. Makes me wonder how many others have been victim to these sicko inbreds?

it is a pit, and those were my exact ideas when i first heard this story. unfortunately, our ideas never come to fruition, and the death pit still sits directly across from christopher’s grandmother’s house. the family has to see that house of evil everyday.
As I read the heinous sexual crimes that were done to the child, I felt physically sick. And sad, very very sad. No human deserves this type of torture and degradation. And as far as that asshole who wrote that shit about a spic being removed its pretty pathetic when someone has to reduce themselves to the mockery of the deceased as a form of amusement. I can not agree w/ you more. i just stumbled acorss this website yesterday and have read probably 80% of your stories in 2 days. i am appalled and disgusted w/ these individuals and believe that they are a waste of good oxygen! throw them all in the dungeons of hell w/ each other and let them all abuse each other. (and legislators) that allowed george edenfield to slip through the cracks for 9 years, then give him a slap on the wrist and set him free to kill christopher. you ever heard the saying, “when you forget history you’re doomed to repeat it”? well, the same thing happens when you’re ignorant to it. in getting this story out there, maybe it waill open a few eyes and make people ask questions in their communities. this in turn, may keep children who otherwise would have become victims, safe. you think it would have been more respectful of me to write “The child suffered a sustained sexual attack by both george and David. My story is…I like to read the news, all types such as entertainment, politics, art/music, and of course crime (mostly crime obviously not trying to kid anybody here). You take this interest and mix it with a passion for saving the world, being helplessly in love with interesting people, as well as having a big mouth…and there you have it a PYSIH fan.

it’s not a memorial. obviously, i know this is not the most appropriate place for a memorial. but i heard a horrible story and thought that christopher deserved a voice. i chose to give him one. the reason why the family knows the story is here is because i contacted paula to ask her if it was ok that i did christopher’s story, and to get a timeline of that day’s events. of course she read it, it was about her loved one. all i pointed out to you guys was that the family knew the story was here and could see the bullshit comments people were making about the innocent victim, no one said the family was going to visit pysih as a memorial site. my bad for even doing the story. the point was to make you all aware of just what kind of evil people will victimize your kids if given the chance, while providing you the entertainment of a well-written story (conceited, maybe, but it IS well-written so i will take the liberty to say so). and maybe you could also get your shits and giggle by poking fun at the edenfields while voting them to hell and thinking of creative ways to torture them.
i didn’t imagine that we were so depraved that it would be acceptable to make fun of an innocent 6 year old child who died in such a disgusting heinous manner and make light of what happened to him. i’m starting to regret doing the story in the first place, and may not do any more because some of you lack empathy so severely, i’m wondering if you are even human in the first place.

I agree with a lot of what whiteiris said. PYSIH stories were already a little too biased for me when I started reading. Now that the regulars are posting stories, they’re kind of self-serving. These are emotional stories, and I don’t need someone else to spell out which emotions to feel for me.
I think opinions belong in the comments. That way I can read the post and I don’t have to read further if I don’t want to, because I know at LEAST one person will say something that offends me to the core. I didn’t see what the banned person had to say, but it must have been REALLY horrific to get banned considering the sick shit people say on a regular basis.
I’m here because I’m fascinated by human motivation, including the motivation to harm others. Things I don’t understand draw me in. I’m here as someone very interested in psychology. I’m here because stories of human suffering make me feel vulnerable, but they also make me think of the changes we can make as a society. I try to look at these stories objectively, though I admit it’s impossible sometimes.
Some people come here to release pent-up anger on those they think deserve it. Some people come here to honor the dead, I guess. Surely a few people get off on this stuff, which isn’t healthy, but no one said it was. We have different reasons, we’re not all going to get along, but can the guest writers please try to keep the post content to the basics? I know admin likes to turn facts into prose and takes some license, but at least the judgment was left to the reader.
I’ll do my best to remain a little more detached when writing my next story…but its so fucking hard to do.

Amy you have it in you. Just take a deep breath, imagine the story in your mind, how the events rolled out, bring up points that help support yours, and tell it how you would tell it to someone else. When telling a story you are not going to interupt yourself to get all emotional, you save that for the end. And that’s what makes commenting so much fun. This shit should not be that shocking to you anyway right? It’s all the same. If it is getting to you that bad, cover a different topic or pore your heart out in the comments, we are used to that.:o) I think it’s cool.
Remember some of stories Admin would throw at us, that actually ended with the victim alive, with the perp in jail? Or remember when he threw the Palin daughter’s boyfrind out there? That was fucking hilarious! It was refreshing right? Give us refreshing Amy, set goals and expectations for your story in advance and hold yourself to them. Then proof read and cut out half of what you thought was good enough. Let me know if you need help with editing (Max has my email add). I’ll build you up so you can keep what’s great (that’s important), then cut to the chase so the emotion is sucked out of your work. Emotion is cool, but not when you are trying to relate to the masses. Emotion only appeals to those that “feel” the same way you do. It gets ugly.

It’s up to the writer to take the criticism, or not, depending on who you are trying to appeal to. Considering you are posting here…that audience would be us. So you are kind of asking for it. And the people you have been appealing to with the super emotional posts are not leaving interesting comments. Which is what makes this site go round, it’s why I come back.

We just need a little variety back in our lives. Admin, was awesome at pleasing a variety of audiences. Other people can be too. we just need to get there.
We have identified the obstacle (lack of variety), and need to figure out how to overcome it. The solution is simple, we just need more people to post so we can argue about something new.
And if you are interested, when I watch horror films I cover my eyes because I can not handle what I know is up next. However, I do like the sound effects and movie scores, a lot. You can hear the thrilling suspense and excitement with out seeing the people being slaughtered. Now that takes talent…In my opinion it could be compared to the same talent Admin possesses…Yes, I am totally comparing Admin to a composer. People of PYSIH, you must agree, you’re here aren’t you? He created that. :o) He paints the picture, but leaves it up to the senses to perceive, and react upon freely. The movie would not be the same with out the composer.

no trial date has been scheduled yet. glynn county, ga says they have other capital trials and because of the money it takes to try them, they are not equippped to try them all in a timely fashion. so our federal tax dollars are paying for these asswipes to eat, sleep, and chill all day until who knows when. but i’m sure the glynn county prosecutor’s office would just LOVE it if everyone called to voice their concerns ;)

These people are vile, undeserving of the term “Human,” so I will call them instead “the skidmarks on the underpants of life”. These skidmarks brutally robbed a CHILD of his innocence, and then his life.
They should be given blood-thinners, then shot by a firing squad of blind epileptics, wounded severely, and allowed to just bleed out. Everytime the wounds start to clot, re-administer blood-thinners and rub salt, lemon juice, and broken glass into the exposed flesh. When they are finally dead, throw the bodies into a trash compacter and send them off to a pig farm to be used as feed. They do not deserve a decent funeral, much less a humane manner of death.
Now that I have unnerved myself with the amount of hatred I feel toward these Skidmarks, the Gelatanous Piles of Syphillus Discharge, I feel a little better.

Daivd Edenfield’s trial started yesterday. The same Judge that gave him probation is presiding over his trial. I hope the jury sees what an evil POS he is and sentence him to death!
Finally a trial for one of the sideshow freaks. David Edenfield has been found guilty of murder & child molestation. The jury still needs to decide whether his punishment should be life in prison or the death penalty. They got the verdict right. Now lets hope they get the sentencing right as well. DEATH!!

I read as many comments as I could without being terribly annoyed, and feel like I can answer a question that kept coming up: “Why do people read sites like this?” Most people realize that being aware of who/what is going on helps us all stay more alert, more grateful, and especially more aware of what is going on in our world. Things that maybe many people never have cross their minds. The opposite would be to stick our heads in the sand like an ostrich & ‘pretend’ nothing like this ever happens. Who does that benefit?
Well, people, there are trauma survivors in the world who are very committed to keeping Up to date on these stories. Specifically those of us who’ve survived childhood abduction. Yes, we feel a need to read and know what is going on. Yes, we feel a need to remind ourselves to be grateful we are alive – to continually remind our children about the dangers in this world &/or how to avoid or escape them if possible. We also feel a need for others to know what horrible dangers face our/your/their children. Yes, we’d like the entire world to know.
For everyone who said this story made you sick, Thank You. It should. It makes me sick too (although, admittedly in a more personal way). We trauma survivors thank you for looking at & thinking about what no one really likes to know. For sharing our disgust, sadness, pain & desire to shed light on all these sickos. Never letting them hide in the darkness of their crimes as they wish they could.

When I first saw the news about Elizabeth Smart being abducted, I just knew she was dead. It struck me. It just struck me right between the eyes and tried very hard to turn something in my mind off. Months later, when she was rescued, and the citation of her words were “thou speaketh,” I felt this rush of relief.
These are empathetic responses to the suffering of another human being. They’re the core of literature, the core of art and ultimately the heart of the social adaptation of our species. Human beings who learn from and protect against the predation of our species by individuals who choose to be outside of it, successfully stave off for a few more generations the Time Machine’s prediction of the Eloi and Murlocks.

jesus christ…and people actually have the right to say i’m OVERprotective. they say it’s wrong that i home-school my son, that i never let him stay at overnight at friends’ houses, that i never let him out of my sight. they say, “it’s harmful to both of [us]“…well guess what? i bet christopher’s parents wish they hadn’t let him out of their sight. not that i’m blaming the parents…not at all. it’s just that people like the edenfields are EVERYWHERE!! parents can’t afford to look away. evil has made it impossible for parents to be overprotective. i may be paranoid, but a least, thank god, i have my son.
Sheesh, I don’t know what’s worse…taking the boy, torturing him, raping him, killing him, dumping his body, lying to police and whoever, or the sight of Peggy masturbating! Yikes! That’s got to be a cooter worth fearing and even the thought of her “O” face just makes me want to puke!
Seriously though, what horrible people and what a horrible crime to that little people. I recommend Blindfolded Marco Polo for them in a yard full of prisoners, especially knowing how popular Pedos and Child murderers are in prison.
BTW, if Donald is able to dump a body and lie to police, he should face some punishment. There’re lots of mentally deficient folks who more than likely wouldn’t do this kind of stuff and know that it’s just plain wrong. Idiot.
i consider it was a bit rushed, and ignored some options that not many people speak about. Everyone knows that the majority new smartphones have internet, so why present that primary operate at its bear minimum. Scroll up scroll down zoom in zoom out. Actually? which new phone doesnt do this? How bout speak about how the text rearranges itsself. Additionally the texting, very poor review. Why didnt you point out you need to use the mic and text with your voice? Disregarded ALOT of different more important features
