What? Another Jasmine Richardson & Jeremy Steinke Update?

Steinke Found Guilt of 1st Degree Murder

    Sherri Zickefoose, Canwest News Service

    Published: Friday, December 05, 2008

CALGARY – Jeremy Allen Steinke has been found guilty by a jury of three counts of first-degree murder in the gruesome deaths of an Alberta couple and their eight-year-old son.

The jury, which began deliberations Thursday afternoon following a two-and-a-half week trial, found Steinke responsible for the premeditated slaying of his then-12 year-old girlfriend’s family in their Medicine Hat home in 2006.

Steinke, 25, kept his head down as the guilty verdicts were read out in court. His mother Jacqueline May, clutching a Bible, dropped her head and wept.

“I did not expect first-degree,” she said afterward.

Relatives of the slain family have asked to read victim impact statements in person at Steinke’s sentencing, set for Dec. 15 in Medicine Hat, 290 kilometres southeast of Calgary.

Barring appeals, the verdict brings to a close one of the most shocking and bizarre multiple murder cases in recent memory.

The killings themselves were horrifying in the extreme. The first police officers to enter the family’s home in Medicine Hat, Alta., after the killings on April 23, 2006, found a crime scene awash in blood, the walls smeared with bloody handprints.

The mother died after being stabbed 12 times. The girl’s father fought for his life with a screwdriver, but was stabbed two dozen times, including nine times in his back. The body of their eight-year-old son was found lying on his blood-soaked bed. His throat had been slashed open.

Norm Boucher, the mayor of Medicine Hat and the chief of police at the time of the killings, said the jury delivered the only logical verdict based on what he said was incontrovertible evidence.

He said he hopes that holding the sentencing in Medicine Hat might help the shattered town move past the traumatic experience.

Boucher, who wanted the trial to be held in Medicine Hat, said he was pleased sentencing will be held in the community Dec. 15.

“That might be the final closure the community needs. It really shook the community when it happened,” he said. “To have national and international media in your community, particularly when it is a small community, is difficult.”

The Crown and defence agreed on only one point: Steinke stabbed to death the girl’s parents the night of after sneaking into their home, wearing a mask and dressed completely in black.

They clashed over the circumstances of the younger brother’s death and the motivation for the attacks.

The Crown painted a picture of Steinke as a cold-hearted killer who wiped out his young girlfriend’s family as part of a murder plan crafted in advance by the couple and documented in conversations with friends and in online messages they’d exchanged. The motivation, according to the Crown, was adolescent rage at the parents, who disapproved of their 12-year-old daughter dating the then-23-year-old Steinke, an unemployed high-school dropout.

Crown prosecutor Ramona Robins presented a recording of a conversation Steinke had with an undercover officer posing as a prisoner while he was being transported to a Calgary lockup. In it, Steinke admitted he was responsible for the deaths and gave details of the killings.

“You hear about that triple homicide?” Steinke said during the recorded conversation. “Yeah. You’re looking at him. . . . Me and my old lady have become legends.”

He told the officer the girl slit her brother’s throat. “It didn’t bother her at all, either, she didn’t cry or anything. In fact, the next day when we were on the road, f-n’ she was laughing about it. She’s got a few screws loose, too.”

Steinke described fanciful plans to marry his girlfriend in a Gothic wedding ceremony and move to a castle in Germany.

Robins also told the jury that Steinke told the undercover officer the father’s dying word was, “Why?” and that Steinke replied, “Because your daughter wanted it that way.”

Steinke also said that, in the hours before the killings, he was drinking a “two-four” of beer and a bottle of ‘Vampire’ brand red wine, and consumed a gram of cocaine.

He also claimed he was fond of drinking blood and once ate a batch of sugar cookies that a friend had made with blood.

“When they came out of the oven they were pink – that’s how much blood he put in them,” he said.

The Crown showed the jury transcripts of messages exchanged by Steinke and the girl a month before the killings. The girl, writing under the online alias “runawaydevil,” told Steinke: “I hate them. So I have this plan, it begins with me killing them and ends with me living with you.”

Steinke, writing as “Souleater,” responded: “Well, I love your plan, but we need to get a little more creative with like details and stuff.”

“(The girl was) the motive and Steinke was the means” to the killings, Robins said.

The Crown went after Steinke’s claim that he could do nothing to stop the girl from killing her brother. Robins suggested that Steinke stood back and watched the boy die because he knew the boy could have identified him.

The Crown also claimed Steinke tried to recruit friends to help him with the murder plan. Jordan Attfield testified that Steinke asked for his help and, when he refused, threatened to implicate him and others if he was caught.

Another friend of Steinke’s, James Whalley, told the jury Steinke boasted he “gutted” the girl’s parents “like fish.” An underage witness reported seeing Steinke and the girl smiling as they pored over newspaper coverage of the killings.

After their arrest, the couple exchanged jailhouse love letters and promised to marry.

The defence, meanwhile, presented Steinke as a damaged victim of a brutalized childhood, a lovelorn loser, too addled by drugs and alcohol to form the intent to kill.

His lawyer, Alain Hepner, claimed the attacks on the parents were “an impulsive reaction” triggered by his excessive intoxication and drug abuse that night, and by being surprised in the house by the girl’s mother.

He dismissed the conversation with the undercover officer as hollow boasts intended to shore up his prison reputation, and the online exchanges as the bluster of “a young man with zero self-esteem who finally found someone to love him.”

The defense put Steinke’s mother on the stand. Steinke wept in his prisoner’s box as Jacqueline May told court about the beatings and abuse he endured at the hands of her ex-husbands and lovers.

“He said he wished he’d never been born,” said May, adding her son had been on antidepressants and medication for attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder since his early teens.

    _________________________________________________________________________

One of our regulars, Cheri, recently contacted us and offered to supply us with a bonanza of inside information on Jazzy and Jeremy, which of course I accepted with much gratitude. Cheri claims that her man was down in Medicine Hat Remand Center in Calgary, Alberta, the same Canadian prison as Steinke, and, much to his surprise, they ended up as roommates. I’ll let Cheri pick up the narrative from here:

“Jeremy was a less than desirable roommate. Aside from the whole triple murderer thing, he was just flat out ANNOYING! If he didn’t get his way, he would throw a tantrum that would rival any 2 year old. He’d throw shit and yell and scream until the guards came to shut him up. He grew his hair out in jail, and fashioned it into long, thick dreads (I saw him weekly during visits, it looked like an octopus was sitting on his head).

“While in remand, there is no limit to who you can call from the inside, and he would “cold call” people, looking for women to send him money. AND HE ACTUALLY GOT SOME TO DO IT! “I remember hearing some 30ish women talking about him, romanticizing what he did “for love”. I had to remind them that he is a murdering pedophile and to get lives.

“He was really worried that they were going to charge him with stat rape, or child porno because they found sex pics of him and Jasmine. He was worried that those charges would “make people think he was a bad person”.

“Yeah, because the whole murder thing made him look good.

“When he was finally taken to Calgary, Alberta because of Jasmine’s trial, things didn’t go so good for him. My guy had warned him that his soulmate was going to turn on him like a rabid dog, but he wouldn’t believe it.

“When word got to him that she did exactly that, he freaked out for HOURS. He could be heard in every part of the Calgary remand, and they could not shut him up. He screamed things like “why? I loved you”, “I have done everything for you” and “you little bitch, we’d better not meet again”. Over and over and over.

“They finally sedated him and then put him on a suicide watch. I have been watching his trial closely. He seems a little more subdued, but my guess is his lawyer told him how he needed to act. Hell, he has no defense, he might as well LOOK good.

“The thing about him is, he can sit there and talk about killing 3 people, the same way I could sit here and talk about taking a walk in the park. Like its no big thing. He thinks he’s going to get off! Thats the stupid part! He really believes that he will serve a max of 5 years before he gets out and has to beat off offers from American Justice and similar TV shows. He is already writing his screenplay, so that when Hollywood calls he’s ready.”

I wonder if all 300-year-old werewolves act this way. But wait, there’s more.  According to her, Cheri’s guy had a real run of bad luck while he was locked up. Once again, here’s our girl on the inside:

“My guy also got to be transported to Calgary in a van with little miss i killed my brother. He talked to her, and basically he said that when all this sinks in, she was going to have some demons to face. Her response?

“‘What about me? What am I going to do? My life is wrecked now.’

“Now thats what I call remorse!”

Editor’s Note: Thank you Cheri for your information. At first, I’ll admit I was absolutely convinced this was the real deal and totally true, but recent comments have caused me to have second thoughts. I like Cheri, and I won’t call her a liar, but I leave it to the reader to decide for his or her self. I’ve been humbled, I can tell you that much.

Special thanks to Journalist and especially noyou for being sharper and more objective than I was

    2. Lena says:

Wow…my mind is BLOWN!…”.What about me? what am I gonna do now? My life is wrecked?” NO REMORSE AT ALL! How can you have sympathy for yourself when you caused the circumstances? Even now all she is thinking is “Me, Me, Me” ! Somebody please give me a word for this girl cause one excapes my mind right now! And mr. “werewolf” (ha-ha) sounds like a HUGE BABY! I can understand a little more why he had to date middle schoolers cause what grown woman would want him? How did these two even meet anyway?

      • Amy says:

I can think of several words you could use Lena…Bitch, whore, skank, selfish, slut, brat…did i say bitch yet????
        Did that help? :)

I think that no one really knows the stary or jasmine i was in juvy with her multiple times and she’s not who people make her out to be her mother’s sister comes to visit her all the time and to be honest i think she is a truly amazing girl

    3. Lena says:

Sorry to double-post:-) I just CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY these psycho couples think they can kill their parents and just go on to live ” happily ever after” do they think nobody’s gonna notice!? Have they not yet realized that noone gets away with it?!

    4. TurtleMania says:

Oh no, not these characters again. Jesus.
Now you are gonna have those freak groupie posters come here again.

    5. Queen Spatula says:

I live just outside of Calgary and our news channels have been all over the Steinke murder trial. Today the prosecution poked holes big enough to drive a semi truck though in Steinke’s story. He claims that it’s just coincidence that he HAPPENED to be killing Jasmine’s parents at the same time that Jasmine HAPPENED to be killing her little brother.

      Coincidence. It’s a funny thing, isn’t it?

Most people around here seem to think Steinke’s conviction is a given. His testimony has been nothing short of laughable. The guy really is a complete fruitcake.

As for Jasmine… I think I threw up in my mouth a little when I read her remarks. Those little pukes.

    6. Geekgrrl says:

Thank you for posting their pics.

Because she’s under age, the press cannot even release her name. Let’s hope she doesn’t end up like Karla Homalka, married, with a child, living her life.

    7. TurtleMania says:

Ok kids, it’s time for bed, but wait.

Oh god, I love it when big scary looking goth murderers turn out to be whiny little punks in jail. I *love* it. What an idiot.

You know, even when I was an angry teenager and a bit more confused about life, I never sent fan mail or money to an accused killer. Thank god I was never that delusional. You’ve really got to be lonely and lacking direction to do that.

      • TurtleMania says:

Why does this happen, amanda? Why?

Well, just yesterday I read a U.S. study that says 1 in 5 American children have a personality disorder. Need I say more?

So before you torture your teen and send them running terrified, emaciated and nearly naked with a chain locked to their ankle, get them the help they need.

You guys have been had. That is the biggest load of fiction I have ever read.

Steinke is in protective custody. He has never grown dreads. The girl was never transported in a van with a grown man.

Hey, I took her at her word. Why not – if anything it makes good reading, and it does fit in with what folks know about Steinke’s personality. Just out of curiosity, who are you & how do you know what you know? If you prove this is all a fraud I’ll retract it immediately.

and here is a photo dated NLT June 2007:http://pysih.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/jeremy-allan-steinke.jpg

That’s a really short time to grow hair you can work into “octopus-like” dreadlocks. Also with the lengths Canada takes to protect their young people in the criminal justice system I find it highly unlikely they’d lock a minor female in the back of a prison van for transport with an adult male.

On the balance I think there’s enough reason not to believe this story.

      • Max The Cat says:

I’m leaning i that direction now too, especially in light of what you just posted noyou. My mistake was posting this as truth, instead of introducing it with a little bit of skepticism. Now I’ve probably embarrased myself, and worse of all, the website. I’m going to edit the story so it reads a little more like a “you decide for yourself” type of thing. Thanks for these links man, they were a big help.

        • TurtleMania says:

It’s still a good job Max. Just relax.
But good idea to put a “you decide” disclaimer on there.

This is better than zero postings.

          • whiteiris says:

Last I checked being compared to “zero” wasn’t too cool, I see what your saying of course Turtle, but allow me to be all complimenty like I love to be…
I think it was better then that Max, I actually found this a little amusing. It was the 1st post I have read in awhile that actually made me wonder a bit. Sometimes confused can be an interesting state of mind…How we say in America, “Intrigue”?

Besides you quoted her directly, it’s not like you just used her as a source for your story. The beeotch, oops I mean Cheri lied without your help my friend. I’m glad the story rolled out the way it did.
I personally thought it was a little too dramatic to be true, I mean it could be…But I was like ok? Is this a crazy Correctional Officer Stalker Serial Killer Fan? Or was she just making up a story with her wicked little imagination? You be the judge…
Personally, it does not sound like truth to me. But let’s just say it was truth…She can say she was “annoyed” but it sounds like she was all worked up over this guy, way too interested…Was she following him around or what? I mean who notices all that shit if she’s really just doing her job. I personally am a little turned off by that “Let me tell it to you from the inside” shit, I’m not into that perspective. The info is great, yes tell it, give the dirt, but leave it to the writers. It just sounds too sleazy straight from the source. That’s why I could not stand that cop guy that stopped by PYSIH…WTF was his name? Anyway, if it happened in the line of duty you are exploiting yourself along with the criminal by telling all, without a mask behind the writers interpretation.
To me it’s kind of like sex (sorry, I can relate everything to sex)…Is sex it more interesting when it’s just handed to you, rather thrown at you? Or is it more interesting when you have to work to get what you’re after? This Cheri chic is just spilling her supposed “truth” when nobody is even asking for it, tacky. I hate supposed truth, you know, people that make up stuff to sound cool…:o)

The boycott is over. It didn’t work, pity me. Oh well, you can’t always get what you want right? And sometimes your better off…Besides, how could I keep my paws (thoughts) off of you guys? You’re irresistible. :o)

          • Max The Cat says:

Glad you’re back Iris. The place isn’t the same without you. We’ve communicated before, and you know I appreciate people who speak their minds. I believe you do that as well as anyone I know, and that makes you an important part of what make this site work, for me anyways.

        • noyuo says:

You did fine. Don’t sweat the small stuff, this isn’t a court of law, and besides most of what was shared by the letter writer was just opinion anyway. Keep up the good work.

Did I miss something here? There must be a ‘first’ story that goes with this one that I didn’t read. Does anyone have a link?

    13. Lena says:

Aw..oh well:) Its a good story tho.

    16. huh says:

Just an FYI – The Medicine Hat Remand is not in Calgary… It is in Medicine Hat. So is Cheri’s boy in Medicine Hat or is he in Calgary, 3 hours away?? Hmmmmmmm…

    17. huh says:

Also, he was most definately not transported here (calgary) with his girlfriend. Happens that he was transported with an undercover cop, and spilled it to him.

    18. diana says:

Regardless if ‘Ol Cheri here is full of the ka- ka or not, my belly hurts every time I read about these two little bastards. I guess it’s bad enough hearing what they did to the parents, but it kills me what they did to this girl’s little brother. I wish they had the death penalty in Canada. I wish they would use it on little sociopaths like Jasmine Richardson, instead of just throwing a few years at them.

    19. huh says:

Not only do we not have the death penalty in Canada, but the sentencing is a joke too. The girl was sentenced to max of 10 years. She is expected to be out when she is 22, and by the time she is 27 her record will be expunged. So by the time she is 27 years old, it is like she didn’t murder her entire family. SICK.

      • diana says:

That kills me. I hope lots of people see this worthless brat’s face, and I hope it is made VERY public when she is released. It’s terrible that she still has the opportunity to live a normal life.

    20. Gambler says:

Sorry if i sound like a jackass here but what were her parents doing while she was plotting to kill them. Could they really have been that oblivious to their daughters sociopathic personality. If so that begs the question, did they even know or try to understand her? Personally i don’t even think they cared about her all that much and there are obvious facts to support my opinion. Don’t get me wrong though I’m not trying to justify what they did, in fact I believe they should both get the death penalty. It’s just everyone seems to completely blame her but do you think she just woke up one morning and said “Today I’m going to kill my family” with absolutely no reason to do so. I don’t instead i think about what her life must have been like for her to become a sociopath and resort to killing her family. A sociopath can’t be blamed for being sociopathic because the condition manifests itself at to early an age for the child to see anything wrong with his/herself, that’s the parents job

    21. Lena says:

@ Gambler: What facts are you talking about? You have piqued my interest..

    22. Gambler says:

Lol was waiting for somone to post that question. For starters she was dating a guy 12 or somthing years older then her. At 13 she’s at partys drinking and having sex. What did her parents do about it? Looks to me like they did as little as possible

    23. Lena says:

Well I kinda see what your getting at, but from what I understood they had stopped them from seeing each other. Maybe she snuck around to see him

    24. Roger says:

I think it’s irresponsible to just post something and then say “you decide”. Sure it’s opinion, but posting it gives a level of validation. We can all supply made up crap and then say “you decide”. that’s “crappy” reporting. And it isn’t a matter of it being amusing or not. We can make up anything amusing, so those saying well at least it was funny…jeez. I don’t read this for made up crap, I come here for further details.

So no. Made up crap isn’t better than no post. Just like whenever I read a comment, which almost inevitably comes, from some stupid fuck who claims to know so and so – most the time it is likely a troll.

      • TurtleMania says:

Roger it was a post about Jazzy and Jeremy, folks that we already have concrete info about on a previous post.
It’s not like it was brand new shitbags. With whom the initial article is important because it’s the introduction.

And rather than just delete it altogether, it’s best it stays on-site with the disclaimer.

Sure you are entitled to your own opinion, but still I’d rather read this story Max has then to have PYSIH dot com dead.

But don’t fret, I’m sure this won’t happen again. :)

      • Max The Cat says:

I dig what you’re saying Roger, but removing the story felt like a coward move on my part. Better to admit I might have been had and take whatever abuse I had coming than to pretend it didn’t happen, don’t you think? I really dislike phonies and hypocrites, and I do my best to avoid any actions that might make me appear to be one of them. BTW, I ran it by admin, and his opinion was the same.

    29. Amyranth says:

From what I have read in the Calgary Herald since Jasmine was convicted and sentenced, the “relationship” between them has dissolved. However her Psychiatrists say that she has no remorse, and fails to see how any of this is her fault.

Jasmine, kiddo, you need to understand that this is your fault. You can’t discuss killing your parents with someone who is bonkers, especially if you’re already tiptoeing on the brink yourself. Remember, you were nothing but an easy piece of tail to him, and that’s all you’ll ever be to the Canadian Public. Easily manipulated, and used.

      And for what? Dizzy bitch.

      • Amy says:

She’s a stupid little bitch. Sorry…a stupid little mental bitch.

        • Amyranth says:

It’s bad because, I remember being her age. I remember hating the rules my parents had.

I distinctly remember NOT KILLING MY PARENTS.

And hey, you know, some of the “horrible rules” my parents had were’nt so horrible after all. Here I am, 25, and a contributing member of society. I have freedom. I have a life, and I have a boyfriend, who isn’t off his frigging rocker!

However, I also now have this nagging fear that if I have a child, and deny her anything that she deems reasonable, that she will snap and have me killed.

The problem with kids today is other kids. Among other things.

          • Amy says:

The problems with our kids today could not be addressed in one sitting…if ever. I think you just do the best you can. Dont bash them, or stick them in the clothes dryer, dont have sex with them, or put drugs/ booze before them…and hope that all will turn out for the best.
Its scary being a parent. Fun and rewarding, but scary. I view my role as a mother as the most important thing i will ever do in my life, and therefore i have to get it right.
But unfortunately not all think the same way.

well I probably would have killed my foster parents if I thought I would get away with it but lucky for me I knew I would get caught…I would love to meet this girl who did something I didn’t have the balls to do…don’t judge what you don’t know maybe she was a crazy or maybe she had her resins nobody will ever know..and as for the little boy yes that is horrible but I can kind of understand what she did think about it what would you be like if you watched your parents being murdered I think in some way she helped him…..now I know I sound a little crazy righting this but I want to hear her story from her mouth or course I will never know the truth but Im not going to beleave a one sided story…..go up the way I did and maybe you will understand killing your family…..thankfully know I am an adualt and no longer have to speak to the monsters that adopted me….Im not saying that her parents were monsters but I am saying how do you know that they weren’t…..as for the runawaydevil if you every see this note that you have someone interested in meeting you

Hey, didn’t you post this same message in another one of the Steinke/Richardson groups about 8 hours ago. You sure you’re alright?
Are you upset because we ignored your comment? I can only speak for myself, but when someone tries to justify mass murder, that person is either a troll looking to cause a little trouble, or a kook. I don’t know which you are, but I don’t like to waste time and energy arguing with either one.

So basically, what I’m telling you – and I mean this with all sincerity – is fuck off asshole.

I’m sorry you had such a terrible childhood Divina.. Im saddened by the fact that you can’t see what this girl did as a horrible, wrong, and evil thing.. but to say that her family “deserved” what they got, or that maybe it was for the best that she murdered her brother is just awful.. You have some serious issues, and I think you might benefit from a little bit of therapy if the lives of other people don’t mean more than getting revenge/getting even..

I dont know what I’d suggest as far as what should happen to that girl.. There have been cases of child offenders being punished, treated, and released who go on to actually live some kind of normal life (as normal as that can be), but most of them just go on to do the same things well into adulthood because they’re sick, and they just can’t be changed… 12 is a weird age.. old enough to know the basics of human decency, but too young to completely control their impulses or make sense of their thoughts and feelings.. at 12 the loss of a “boyfriend” is the end of the world.. at 24 not so much.. Prince charming in this case definately knew better though.. HE deserves whatever punishment he gets..

    33. Lauren Griffiths says:

Oh. My. God. Can you say “Sad little Buffy the Vampire Slayer rerun- watching Charmed worshipping True Blood emulating Nu- metal headbanging Natural Born Killers wannabes no-hope pieces of shit who never tried to formulate their own personality or identity in any way?” I can. Pathetic. May they both rot in hell- oh, wait, they won’t, not even Satan wants their lack of originality.

    34. Shannon says:

The moody, apathetic look jazmins trying to get going in her myspace photo is slightly ruined by the treadmill in the background and the capgun in her hand..

As much as I would love to respond to what looks like an interesting comment, I unfortunately cant as I dont speak Fucktardian.

Please translate your comment into English for those of us with more than 2 brain cells so we can try and understand what you are trying to say.

      Thanks

The Canadian Government is just as responsible here and is also evil. Both of these garbage people should be put to death and I don’t care how old they were, especially the girl. She is a full fledged sociopath and you should be ashamed to be a citizen living in Canada!! Canada laws are evil and retarded.

    38. Chris says:

    39. ashlee says:

Does anyone know how to contact Jasmine? Perhaps an adress to write her? If anyone can help me out, that’d be awesome.
