Kevin Wayne Anders is almost certainly at least as guilty of Hanna’s murder as your cousin, and very possibly more. That doesn’t make Shaun any LESS guilty. As for your assertion that Shaun “does not need to die because he is still part of [your] family,” well, that just doesn’t follow. Almost any killer out there is going to be part of somebody’s family. Jeffrey Dahmer had a father who loved him dearly. Ted Kaczynski’s brother struggled with his decision to turn him in. Dennis Rader’s wife of over thirty years was shocked when she learned he was a serial killer. I understand that this must be very painful for you and very hard on your family, and it’s natural for you to try to deny or rationalize this in some way. But sooner or later you’re going to have to face the truth. Your cousin has confessed to an unconscionable act: the rape and murder of a defenseless little girl. You don’t have to hate him, but you need to understand that his being your cousin doesn’t make him special. He doesn’t deserve any more consideration than any other murdering child molester. (Nor does he deserve any less, if that makes you feel better.) PYSIH readers are interested in justice. Our sympathies are with the victims and those who truly loved them. This is a place where we vent our anger and frustration at the cruel things that happen in the world. When we hear about a child-killer who has demonstrated no real remorse, we aren’t interested in hearing about such redeeming qualities as he may happen to possess. You aren’t doing your cousin any favors by coming here. I do hope you’ll carefully read the details of his confession, if you haven’t already, and just try to imagine what you would think of this individual if he weren’t someone you knew personally. Try to imagine the final hour of Hanna Mack’s life, or the hell Dana Mack has been living these last four years. Maybe then you’ll be able to understand the sense of outrage we feel.

Of course they blame her stepdad. Have you read any other articles here? The people who harmed this poor child are to blame for it, including the stepfather, may he rot.

He raped a child, and at the very LEAST was a passive participant in her murder, “just to get it over with”? That sounds pretty monstrous to me. Actually, there’s something almost more monstrous about raping and murdering a child “to get it over with” than because you actually enjoy it. People who enjoy violence are often messed up organically on some level (which does not change the fact that most of them know exactly what they’re doing and that it is wrong), but people who just DON’T CARE . . . those are the ones that really scare me. There are always going to be some messed-up people in this world, but in general they can only get away with as much as decent folk are willing to stand by and allow.

this man is my cousin too.. charles D arender is my brother and yes we might have cousins that do drugs we all do nobodys peferct in this world.. charles d arender does have kids and shaun arender would have love to see them to spend time with them and he is not a monster so yall need to get over yall self. i lived with him too and he never did touch me soo i think coriscana dna people sent him up because my cousin is depressed and he was raped by one of our family member so shaun arender does not need to die because he is still part of my family and yall can say whatever yall want to but yall dont know him so leave him alone please his in jail for life and i dont see yall blaming hanna mack step dad for raping her

I am a nurse in a prison ER. I have been face to face with this sick fuck without knowing why he was in prison. He is no longer in the prison I work at but in one right down the road. This sick pos deserves to be tortured and killed. The most painful death imaginable. They should just turn him loose into the prison yard butt naked and give every inmates that wants to the chance to rape and beat him. And when they are done just tie him to the fence, cover im with honey, and leave him there to be eaten alive by ants, bees, rats, possums, whatever wants him. He deserves to die a slow painful death!!!!!
