Bahram “Ben” Nazeri
51-year-old Bahram “Ben” Nazeri, and his wife, 28-year-old Nooshin Mirabadi Khaneh lived in a beautiful home located in the affluent Orange County suburb of Irvine. Bahram and Nooshin had two lovely daughters, aged six and eight. Nooshin’s Mother, 58-year-old Parvane Ghararyankordestan also resided in the family home. Normal enough.
Like many couples, Bahram and Nooshin had their differences. Bahram and Nooshin argued a lot, actually. Still normal enough. Bahram, confided to close relatives and neighbors that he was unhappy in his marriage and that he had suspicions that his wife was having an affair. Still normal-ish. But, instead of filing for divorce, seeking marital counseling, completing a trial separation, or even enlisting the assistance one of my favorite shows, ”Cheaters”, Bahram decided to “just play it cool, boys, real cool.”
On August 20th, 2006, Bahram decided to confront his wife about his suspicions with regard to her suspected infidelity. Nooshin’s Mother was also present at the time of this confrontation. Bahram and Nooshin began to argue about the accusations when Nooshin denied that she was having an affair. Parvane came to defense of her daughter, and also denied any such indiscretions on Nooshin’s part.
Apparently, that was not enough to convince Bahram. Instead of leaving to spend the night at the Best Western, Bahram produced a double-sided knife and proceeded to brutally stab his wife and his mother-in-law. Again and again. Coroners reports indicate that Bahram stabbed each of the women over twenty-five times, to be exact. Thankfully, the children were not present to witness the brutality of this attack.
Oh yeah, did I happen to mention that when Bahram was pouring his heart out to his neighbors and relatives as to he and his wife’s marital issues Bahram stated that he was contemplating murder? What is it with people not reporting these things? I don’t know, it may just be me, but when someone says that they are thinking about 
killing their wife and mother-in-law, I would view the situation as potentially volatile.
Obviously, with two dead bodies in his house, Bahram had a big problem on his hands. So Bahram decided to “play it cool”. Bahram dragged the dead bodies of his wife and mother-in-law to the downstairs bathroom and dumped them into the bathtub. Bahram covered the bodies with ice, shut the bathroom door, and told his children that the door was to remain closed and that they were to stay out. When Bahram’s children began to wonder where their Mom was, Bahram told his children that she was away on a business trip.
In the next few days, Bahram continued to lie about his wife’s and mother-in-law’s whereabouts to others with whom he came into contact with. As Bahram continued with his lies, he found the time to make frequent trips to the corner store and purchase large quantities of ice. Returning home, Bahram would then dump the ice over the two dead bodies, in attempts to prevent them from decomposing and producing foul odors.
On August 22nd, 2006, a relative visited Bahram at the home. The relative noticed that Bahram was behaving oddly and just plain acting as he was hiding something. In addition to Bahram’s weirdo demeanor, there was an undeniable rotten stench emanating from the downstairs bathroom. The relative must have deduced that something was up because after he and Bahram said their ”goodbyes”, he drove straight to the Irvine Police Station. It was at that time that the relative expressed concern to authorities.
Officers responded to the concerns by paying Bahram a visit at his home. Upon their arrival, Bahram ran into the backyard like a coward and barricaded himself behind some pool equipment. Bahram then told Officers that he had a gun. This resulted in a one and one half hour stand-off, during which time Bahram reportedly “attempted” to slit his own wrists.
How come it is so common for murderers, when confronted by law enforcement to always “attempt” to kill themselves? How come they seem to rarely succeed in doing so?
Anyhow, the stand-off resulted in law enforcement enlisting the assistance of the S.W.A.T. Team and professional crisis negotiators, all of which urged Bahram to surrender. Bahram refused to do so. It was not until Bahram was pelted with rubber bullets that Officers were able to take him into custody.
I wish they would have used the real ones.
Inside the home, the bodies of Nooshin Mirabadi Khaneh and her Mother, Parvane Ghararyankordestan were discovered in the downstairs bathroom, decomposing, and covered in melting ice. Bahram’s two young daughters were also found inside the home and were reported as being “unharmed”. At least physically, no doubt. Both girls have since been placed in protective custody.
Bahram Nazeri’s trial began on February 11th, 2009. He is facing two felony counts of murder with special circumstances, and if convicted, will face a maximum sentence of life without the possibility of parole.
Editor’s Notes: I pulled up Bahram Nazeri’s court records to check on the progress of his trial, and as of today, February 25th, 2009, they were entering day seven of the proceedings. It seems pretty open and shut to me and, barring some outrageous “Twinkie” type defense by his attorneys, Bahram will be convicted and receive the life sentence he so richly deserves.
There was something else on Mr. Nazeri’s record that I found very telling about the character of the man Nooshin was stuck with. On February 1st, 2005, Bahram got himself ticketed for not wearing his seatbelt. I looked it up, and in California the fine for said offense was the same now as it was then, twenty dollars. That is, if you do what most folks would do and write out a check for twenty bucks, stick the check and the ticket in an envelope and mail it to the court. No one fights a seatbelt ticket because it’s not worth the aggravation and it’s a terrible gamble; if you lose, you end up paying the twenty plus an addition sixty-eight clams in fees. Only a very self righteous or a very stubborn person would take that route, correct?
Well, not only did Bahram Nazeri choose to fight the ticket in court, it appears from the records that he hired two (that’s right folks, two) lawyers to defend him, although to be fair, he may have fired one attorney and hired someone else. Not that it did him any good of course. The police officer showed up in court and testified that he saw Bahram driving while not wearing his seatbelt, the judge in turn found Bahram guilty, and ol’ Ben was left standing there wondering how he managed to get hit by a city bus in the middle of a courtroom.
The thing is, this kind of behavior is completely at odds with the Bahram Nazeri his friends seemed to know. He was described by neighbors as a jovial sort who greeted them with cheerful hellos and neighborly smiles.
Even on the day before the bodies were discovered, neighbor Rhonda Page said he had greeted her and another neighbor while they played with a dog outside. She said he asked if he could borrow the pet sometime for his daughters.

The first thing that caught my eye was that she was only 20 years old when they had their first child. That would make him 43 at the time…..more than twice her age.
I wonder if the marriage was arranged as it often is in these cultures (I’m not being ignorant, my own culture works the same way). Either way though, it’s terribly sad that both she and her mother were killed like this.
Even more disturbing is that those little girls lived in that home with those bodies for DAYS! God forbid that they should have discovered the bodies…as it is I’m sure they will be traumatized for life, but the visual of your decaying mother and grandmother would have never left their minds. Makes me wonder what he was waiting for?

Wow, what a dumbass. Why didn’t he at least try to sneak the bodies out of the house at night and bury them? Did he think he could keep them on ice in the tub indefinitely? His stupidity pisses me off almost as much as his evilness. I think that in hell he should be chained, naked, into a tub filled with ice cubes for a few thousand years prior to having the devil stick his pitchfork up his ass.

While this dirt bag deserves hell for what he did, he does have my sympathies and understanding. Some things suck in every culture.
Lol Fred. I was kind of thinking that when writing the story, too. Not to make light of the situation, but it is very tough to live with in-laws.
One day the moher in law, infront of all her grandchildren got rude, so she said “treat me like one of the kids” So infront of all the grandchildren, I put her over my knee and smacked her ass!
THe kids behaved REAL good for months……….

So strange. This story kind of reminds me of a girl that I went to school with. Her dad killed her mom and wrapped her up in a quilt and told the kids not to touch their mom on the couch because she was sick and sleeping. I can’t believe that you would rather your children lose both parents then to just file for divorce. Whether those children saw their mom or grandma will still traumatize them, they will forever think that they could have saved them if they would have just opened the bathroom. Those poor babies.
Some divorce situations are so bad that the man figures he has NOTHING to loose, and the kids living with the mother is going to be the worst thing for them (the children).

Has anyone noticed that in Bahram’s photo he appears to be in a bath tub? Sick and twisted. He probably finally snapped because everyone kept staring at the numerous flakes of feces located on his upper and lower lips.
What a shitbag. It always pisses me off to hear how nice these people were. Is that why no one reported him when he began to contemplate murdering his wife? Cause he was such a nice guy?
