A Thank You to PYSIH
To All Members of PYSIH.com:
Some of you may know me, some may not. I’ve been a lurker on this site for a little over 10 months now, but not until recently did I come to become accepted into your family. I have been in the US Army for the last 44 months (3 years, 8 months for those keeping track) and have been in Iraq since Jan of 2008. As I prepare to go back home, I would like to say a couple of words.
“I’d like to begin by saying fuck Lance Armstrong. Fuck him and his balls and his bicycles and his steroids and his yellow shirts and the dumb empty expression on his face. I’m tired of that asshole. And while you’re at it, fuck Tiger Woods too! There’s another jackoff I can do without. I’m tired of being told who to admire in this country. Aren’t you? Aren’t you sick of being told who your heroes ought to be? Being told who you outta look up too. I’ll choose my own heroes, thank you very much. And fuck Dr. Phil too! ”
Erm…wha? Shit wrong speech! *flips papers* Ah yes, here we go. This fine site has helped to pass the time in the last 10 months. I first stumbled across here because I thought I was in hell myself. After reading stores such as those involving Baby P, Baby Grace, that bleeding heartless cunt Lori Drew and others on here. It made me realize that hell is saved for those who commit heinous unforgiveable act, which I have not done. I digress from my original point however. In 13 shorts days I prepare to leave for the US once again, which leaves my status with this site to be determined. There are many factors for this, so if I feel I cannot be back on a regular basis, I need some thank you’s to get off of my chest.
First is Max. Max, you are quite simply one of the best people I have ever met. Period. You have helped me with all of my bitches, moans, gripes, complaints and everything else I’ve come up with and never once complained. I thank you. You also have made me laugh out loud more in the last year than a Pauly Shore movie (which isn’t saying much but it’s the thought that count, no?) I kid. I cannot remember how many times I had to smoke outside to keep from laughing and crying all the same time. For your brilliant introduction of the Sniper Kitty, I give you this poster:
Poptart1, you have defended me through countless troll attacks on here. Also, you have the same sense of humor I do, and I think you are just downright brilliant at times. In honor of our mutual respect for the Sexual Harassment Panda, this is for you:

So basically PYSIH, it’s been interesting these last few months. The laughs, the tears, and the complete and utter what the fuck moments. I’ve only just started getting used to this place and in another 3 weeks, I’ll have to see what the future holds. Some of you know that recently we had a death of one of our guys here. It’s given me a realization that perhaps I need to get out more and experience life for what it’s really worth once I get back. Maybe it’s just the shock of losing someone while we were here. Maybe I just need to extinguish a few demons once I get back home. But know this. You guys have been nothing short of awesome to me while I’ve been active. Thanks once again. Take care and God bless.

I don’t post as much as I used to but let me say that it is an honor to be a part of something that has helped the brave soldiers that fight for OUR freedom. I always wonder what I can do for our men and women of valor. If something as simple as being a part of this site has helped ONE person in the military then I have done more than I knew.
God bless you for your valor and service.

The site was a favorite amongst people I worked with. I believe me and one other person were the only ones who commented and I’m the only one who did so regularly. But it was definitely passed around, I promise.

Unless someone has served in a war zone, they cannot understand what you have experienced, endured and lost. Anyone with a sense of humour that doesn’t get on their fucking soap box and condemn strangers to hell based on a very slanted and bias (and fucking great by the way) account of their alleged crimes.

I always have respected because you always bring a different angle to stories on here. You have made it easy to access you, and haven’t flinched in your views. You also haven’t brogh out the ire in me because your arguments are well thought out and I do see a lot of where you come from. although i’m opposed to the war in Iraq, i have the utmost respect for the soldiers who are putting their lifes on the line in our name. anyone who’s served in that hell hole is a hero in my book.

I love the commentators on this site. It’s so unique in that I truly feel like I’ve gotten to know a little bit about you all and honestly believe that you are a unique and wonderful group of people.
Tito, I’m a Canadian citizen and have my own views on the war, but I respect what you’ve done for your country and think that you are one of many heros out in Iraq. I’m glad that you will be returning safely to the one’s you love and I’ll miss your insight in to some of the discussions had on here.

Most of my family is/was military. I’m a AF brat through and through! My dad retired not too long ago, but my brother is in Iraq as we speak. I have so much respect for you Tito, and the rest of our soldiers. I know the sacrifices you and your family have made. I wish you the best of luck in whatever you do next and thank you for all that you are and all that you’ve done.

i just got back from san juan. it was the best vacation ever!
so good that i started looking at property there when i got home.
you’ll have to let me know of a few good places to go for authentic food for when i go back. i ate more than twice my size in pork, rice and beans for a fraking week.
Eh. Home is iffy these days. I spent most of my childhood in New Jersey, and that’s where most of the family is, so that’s what I consider to be home. But yes, concerning Puerto Rico, the best food places are the little roadside stands in my opinion. The ones where you can get rice beans and pork for about $3 a plate and it’s just like my mom would make. You really can’t go wrong out there in that aspect. Property out there is amazingly cheap from what I remember, but it’s also been about 3 years since I last went.
yea great prices, but you have to know the area i guess. The place i stayed was between ocean park and punta las marias. behind us was this kind of scary neighborhood.. not to metion the super scary projects nearby. eep.
there is also a really neat cemetary near la perla that i almost wandered over to but better judgement told me to stay away or i might have even ended up as an unfortunate on this site.
You just to have someone who knows what’s surrounding you. The beaches are pretty much the safest areas in my opinion, that’s where all the tourists go. The rural areas are the worst to me. No people around, they tend to run amok.
